I have very fine colour treated blonde hair so I am wary of using any harsh or too many products on my thin hair. Pleasingly I found this Purple toning shampoo to be very gentle on my hair and didn’t leave it stripped or straw like which I have found with other purple toning products. The shampoo toned down the brassiness and left my hair very soft and healthy looking. The product smelt quite fruity and pleasant and not too harsh or chemical like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye bye brassy tones [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Toni&Guy purple hair products as part of the trial team for the last few weeks and am really happy with the results achieved. The purple shampoo comes in a nice sized bottle with an easy open lid (press down / pop up) which dispenses the product well. The bottle fits well into my shower caddy as well. A little bit of product goes a long way and provides a great lather which remains in place allowing it to work its magic for the recommended 3 minutes. Over the last few weeks I have used the shampoo and conditioner twice a week and am really impressed with how blonde my blonde colour is with no brassiness at all. My hair is left soft and manageable, feeling fresh and smelling clean. I will definitely be using these products in the future.

I come from a family of red heads… I like being a blonde.. see my problem… When lightening my hair I throw an incredible amount of red… not a bad thing.. but not how I want my hair to look. Salon toners are great BUT they can get a little $$$ pricey. The purple range from Toni & Guy help keep my brassiness under control between salon visits. The shampoo comes in a lovely cylinder with an easy flip top which is easy to apply and looks great in the shower. The shampoo lathered super easily and I always ensured I applied twice to really make sure my hair was clean and happily neutralised.. Brassy be gone! Used as part of a three step process, I found this to be an excellent product. Coming from a full time user of salon brand products, I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the opportunity to trial

It is effective and smells great. I leave it on my hair for a few minutes and it toned my hair which is bleach blonde. It is easy to lather and smells really good and fresh. The shampoo is slightly drying but most toning shampoos are so this is not too surprising. I only wash my hair twice a week and this shampoo keeps my hair nice and blonde. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone looking to tone their blonde hair.

My mum passed just after I received the parcel and as many of us are prone to do after an emotional upheaval I made the decision to dye my hair. Big mistake. I colour removed and was left with a pale yellow mess. Rather than go straight in for a permanent toner I decided to try the Toni & Guy Shampoo first. Because I needed a stronger effect than just the usual application I applied it to dry hair and combed it through. I left it for 15 minutes, checking it every 5. When the time was finished I added some water and worked it to a lather, then rinsed it out. The resulting colour was pretty great for a purple shampoo. it had toned the pale yellow down to a light ashy colour that is lovely. Since then I've just used it for regular upkeep and followed the directions for a normal application. So far it's kept the tone perfectly.

I am super blonde and recently haven't been enjoying it as it looks tired and more on the yellow side of tones for my liking. I have been worried about over bleaching and drying out my hair at the salon so I couldn't wait to try this. First thing I noticed was that the texture of the product was thick and not "watery" like some of the products I have unsuccessfully tried before. I made sure I combed any excess water out of my hair and massaged it into my hair thoroughly and left it in for exactly 2 minutes. After washing out the shampoo I followed on with the matching purple conditioner, again only after combing the excess water out so I didn't dilute the product in any way. After 2 minutes I raced to the mirror, admittedly worried that my hair was going to have a slight purple tinge to it, but the worry was unnecessary. The comb glided through my hair easily and after drying it off the yellow brassiness had vanished and in its place was the beautiful ash blonde that I had been longing for. Incredible. Really incredible. This product is by far the best product for yellow/blonde hair and for those that want the lighter more ash blonde most of us long for. I only wash my hair 4 times a week and because the product is so effective, I would only use it 2 out of the 4 washes so that I didn't overdo it. 2 washes each week will be the perfect dose to keep the yellow tinges away and extend my visits to the salon and save me money at the same time. Highly recommend and as long as you follow the instructions and don't leave it on for longer than 2 minutes; you can't go wrong.

The TONI&GUY Hair Care Purple Shampoo for Blonde Hair is great for this. To start with the packaging is pretty. The shampoo is in a purple cylinder bottle with a pop lid. The shampoo lathers fairly easily and rinses out of my hair with ease. The colour doesn’t stain my hands or the shower! The shampoo helps tone down the orange and I like how it tones my hair a white/silver look on some parts of my blonde. I also found that my hair was smoother and had less flyaways after using this shampoo which may be due to the added keratin in it. So great results for me. Using it with the matching Toni & Guy conditioner and hair mask is recommended for best results, and for me I found it to be needed as sometimes a purple shampoo can get a bit drying if used a lot. It’s at an affordable price point as well, which is great.

I can be particularly fussy sometimes with what I put on my hair in terms of wanting less chemicals and keeping it as natural as possible; while also being effective. And this one hit the mark. It gives a beautiful, natural toning down of coloured hair and it doesn't smell disgustingly chemically like others. I will most definately be using this one again and recommending to friends and family. A little bit goes a long way, and I recommend using gloves if you don't want your skin and nails stained.

It tends to overtone more porous parts of the hair (e.g., the ends), but this is common to purple shampoos in my experience. The product smells super lovely, and I really like the new packaging compared to the older packaging. The bottle is sturdy and looks really professional. The product does a really good job lathering up, however the lather becomes a paler colour so I'd recommend using more shampoo than usual and not lathering as much if you want intense toning.

Love the shampoo consistency and smell. Didnt have to use much and I was surprised how much it lathered up.I left it on for a few minutes then rinsed out. I used it for a few times and noticed how much better my hair looked and was nearly back to the same colour that I had done a month ago. I didnt mind the size of the bottle but I would definately buy the larger bottle as some times I get a bit heavy handed when washing my hair.

It has a soft and subtle toning effect without the harshness and drying effects of some toning shampoos. I found that I could use this everyday as a great shampoo. My hair colour definitely looked lifted and I enjoyed the additional volume that it gave. It leaves my hair shinier and silkier than many other shampoos which was fantastic. My young son is a natural blonde and he also thought it was great on his hair. This shampoo is definitely a keeper, a well priced but luxurious shampoo.

It is very effective for my coloured blonde hair. My hair always get a bit brassy between my hairdresser salon visits so I always try to find a solution to get rid of my yellow tones. This shampoo is perfect for my hair because it's not as strong as other brands I have tried and doesn't overtone my hair. I love it also leave my hair soft, smooth and shiny. It's easy to apply and wash it off. I would definitely recommend this shampoo for people with a blonde hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic purple shampoo to keep gold at bay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Toni&Guy’s Purple shampoo for blonde hair claims to help neutralise golden and brassy tones in bleached blonde hair and from my experience it really does work. I absolutely hate it when its been a few weeks since my last hairdresser appointment and gold tones start to creep in to my creamy blonde colour. 1 wash with this purple shampoo usually neutralises most of the golden tones and refreshes my blonde. While it does stain my fingers, the purple colour doesn’t cling to my shower tiles. The shampoo smells really nice and my hair feels soft after using both the shampoo and conditioner in this range. I tend to use this shampoo once per week to keep the golden tones at bay. Overall a fantastic supermarket shampoo for the price.

The shampoo bottle looked stylish and premium in my shower and was very easy to use. The actual shampoo worked into my hair really well and lathered up really nicely. The fragrance was quite pleasant and my hair felt clean but not stripped like some blonde shampoos can do to your hair. After just two shampoos (which I normally do to get my hair really clean) the tone of the blonde was definitely brighter and less brassy like it had been. This is the fourth blonde toning shampoo that I have tried, and it's definitely my favourite!

This shampoo is excellent and meet my needs perfectly. It has a clean fresh scent which is a bonus. It lathers well and my hair felt so clean after. I left it on for the full five minutes to give it that extra boost. Followed on by the Toni and Guy conditioner the effect is amazing. I would definitely use it again now that I have experienced it and would certainly recommend it for anyone with blond hair. Give it a go and you will be glad you did. I can see only positives with this product. The price is also very reasonable for such a premium shampoo which surprised me as I would have assumed it would be expensive. I have naturally dark blonde hair and regularly have it highlighted but as my hair has a red undertone it quickly looks a brassy yellow colour which I hate. I regularly use purple shampoo so was interested to see how this compares to my usual brand which is more expensive. The packaging is good, not too bulky so it fits nicely on my shelf in the shower, very important! The shampoo lathers well with not too much product being used. I always shampoo my hair twice and after the second shampoo I pop on a shower cap so it really penetrates my hair as I like an ashy tone.i am pleased with the results, it smells great too.i would recommend.

This shampoo neutralises yellow and Brassy tones and brightens my blonde, leaving it with shiny bright highlights. Unlike other shampoos I have used for blonde hair this one doesn’t make my hair feel like straw. It contains pearl extract which is what helps my hair to shine. It also has keratin which help to strengthen hair. After wetting my hair in the shower I massage enough product in from root to tip. I leave it on for a maximum of 5 minutes allowing it to tone, then I rinse throughly with warm water. I then follow with Toni & Guy Conditioner. I have found this shampoo to be more of a subtle tone unlike other shampoos that have left my hair over toned and grey/ purple looking. I will definitely be purchasing this shampoo from now on.

The texture was perfect, just the right consistency for even application and not too runny or thick. It lathered well and left my hair feeling clean without being stripped. I was able to leave my hair an extra day or two between washes. The shampoo toned my hair subtly. My hair was soft and smooth and easy to style afterward. My usually full hair was extra shiny after shampooing. The packaging worked well and was easy to open and close. The scent was fine and not overpowering. When I splashed this on the tiles in my shower it washed off easily without staining. It didn’t stain my hands or nails either. I would buy this shampoo as it works well and is good value.

My hair is dyed champagne blonde and after lathering this through my hair and leaving on for 3 minutes, it came out so clean & shiny. The toning aspect was brilliant. A little bit goes a long way! I have blonde foils at the salon every 2 months but my the blonde gets very brassy quickly and this has provided some awesome results, toning down the yellow and blending the colour to the ash blonde I love. It has a pleasant scent and isn’t as overpowering as salon toners, lathering really well to wash my hair thoroughly. It hasn’t dried my hair too much, which is always a concern to me when using toning shampoo. I intend to keep using this between salon visits and even delay them, as it gives me a more neutralised blonde tone. It’s going to be perfect to use in summer when I want my blonde more ash in colour. My hair feels soft and nourished, which makes me feel as though I’m not damaging my hair any further. The bottle dispenses effectively and is easy to use. It’s easy to find in-store and on special regularly, which makes this a great option. I highly recommend this for those who want to keep their blonde hair looking fresh and remove the gold tones.

I have never been so happy with a purple shampoo (and trust me I've tried many.) The Shampoo was my favourite product of the range, it leaves my hair feeling actually clean, not just toned, and the clean feeling lasts quite a while. I've even been able to stretch my washes out to 3 days, instead of 2. My hair seems very happy, healthy and shiny and I've noticed less fly-aways. The toning properties are just right, without staining my hands and every inch of my shower purple, it leaves my bottle-blonde hair with the perfect cool tone I want, without looking purple. The longer I leave it on the more toning I get. But to conserve water I usually leave it at around 2 minutes. If you are a blonde and haven't tried this range before I highly recommend you give it a go!

The product comes in a 250ml bottle which you press and turn upside down to release the shampoo. After receiving this I tried it straight away and was advised to shampoo twice before conditioning for better results. You only need a small amount to lather and cover your entire hair and I left this on for roughly 2-3 minutes before rinsing and continuing with your conditioner. The smell to me was similar to almond and I found this quite beautiful without being overpowering. After using this for almost 3 weeks on a daily basis I can definitely say this is one of my most favourite products from Toni & Guy. My hair looks soft, shiny and less brassy with less flyaways and a nicer blonde. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to tone down the orange brassy tones.

It lathers really well, the purple colour doesn't stain and it leaves my hair super clean and fresh. The colour change is subtle but my hair colour looks more natural for my age (in my fifties). I would really recommend this product to anyone with blonde/ grey hair! My hair is clean,shinny and really smooth. I have noticed it also straightens a lot easier with my straighteners afterwards too!The packaing is simple but effective and the 250ml size is perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] okay, this is an absolute amazing purple shampoo. it is so affordable and so simple to use. it makes my hair feel so soft after using it. would highly recommend to anyone on a budget. only downfall is that it has a strong scent which i don’t like. i can’t really name what it is. and that initially it stains hands but comes off after wash (i may be using too much here, i’m not sure)it lathers really beautifully and definitely cleans that hair. would totally recommend this product. there are probably better more expensive alternatives out there, for the price of this one. you definitely can’t complain

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Left my hair looking and feeling lovely [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the biggest hassles of being a blonde is battling that trashy looking brassiness so when the trial invite arrived for this shampoo I was very excited. The shampoo is of course a vibrant purple and has an unusual scent that didn't bother me at all. I found that it was very kind and gentle on my hair which is interesting as I have used other brands of purple shampoo and found they tend to leave my hair feeling very dry and straw like which is not a good look. With Toni & Guy my hair was left feeling soft with a lovely healthy-looking shine and all brassiness had gone. My highlights were enhanced. You only need to use a very small amount of the product and it lathers up well. I like the plastic bottles and the fact that they are made from 50% recycled plastics.

Being opposite to yellow on the colour wheel, purple pigments fight brassy tones and brighten bleached hair. This shampoo neutralises brassy and golden tones in your blonde hair (natural or bleached) and leaves it looking wonderfully creamy, clean and bright. The longer you leave it on, the stronger the toning effect of the shampoo will be and the brighter and ashy your hair will look. Fantastic, affordable and easy to find shampoo - would definitely recommend!

I used the shampoo twice following instructions and first time used left in for about o ne point five minutes The second time left a little longer, The shampoo lathers really well and my scalp felt very well cleaned. My hair was also tangle free which is so good. I have used quite a few products like this that are far more expensive than Toni and Guy and this products seems very good for my hair`. It does take away the bleached blonde look and my hair is a lovely ash blond colour, Some similar products I have used seem to pick up the purple tone and leave you hair taking on a blue ting or a grey tinge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a part of the Trial Team for Toni&Guy Purple range, and as with all the other reviews am going to split it into two ratings in my review – rating of the purple, and rating of the product. I feel it is only fair to do. I also review each item both individually, as a part of the routine using all 3. Product Rating: 5/5 This shampoo was very pleasant to use! I found it lathered easily, and left my hair feeling clean without feeling too dry! I'm not a huge fan of Toni&Guy's fragrances, but this is not too overpowering I always double shampoo so did so using my normal shampoo for the first shampoo (how I generally use purple shampoos!) and also tried it by double shampooing with the purple shampoo. Both times my hair felt clean, when double shampooing with the purple it did feel a little drier but definitely felt super clean! Purple Rating: 5/5 The amount of purple in this shampoo is perfect for me - great maintenance shade for my very light blonde hair, without turning it a little bit lilac if I use too often/leave in for too long.I like to pay attention to how the purple dissapates from the foam as it lathers into my hair, as I feel that if the foam coming off of my hair is mostly white (not purple) the pigment must have soaked into my hair well. This foam was really white! As an added bonus - this purple doesn't stain your hands!! Top rating for that alone as purple hands can be unsightly especially before a function or big event. Overall, I rate this! Great shampoo, and a great size too! When used with the conditioner and mask my hair felt soft, smooth, and looked a really lovely shade. Definitely no brassiness!

I love the push lid that allows you to get as much shampoo as you require. It has a great consistency that doesnt leave your hair feeling stripped or dry. I especially love that this doesnt leave my nails purple, like other purple shampoos have. I pretty much wet my hair, lather this into it and rinse straight off. It doesnt feel like there are a lot of nasties in this product and it is very gentle, although it definitely gets rid of brassy tones and leaves my hair feeling vibrant and a true blonde.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye bye brassy tones [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised by this toning shampoo and it’s effectiveness in removing the brassy, yellow tones- I’ve tried a few different brands; this being one of the best I’ve used. Bottle was a generous size and easy to open/close without spilling, with a pleasant aroma. Formula lathered well, only needing around 20 cent size for my long hair, but mild enough not to leave discolouration on hands. My hair felt amazingly fresh and clean. I always shampoo twice. Be sure to massage through the hair to avoid patchy/purple areas. My hair color was a much more brighter blonde. Perfect to use in between salon visits to keep that blonde banging.
