Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product I bought this because my hairdresser royally stuffed my hair up!! It was a black red instead of copper. This is a miracle in a box!! I tried washing it for three days with dish liquid and although it was lighter it was still dark dark dark. I have extensions in and this didn't hurt them and left my hair really soft. It's now a lovely copper colour again and I feel like me again!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive I bought this to begin the process of going blonde after being very dark for a couple of years with red/violet undertones. It did an amazing job removing the dark. Be aware that it will remove permanent colour only which it did, the semi I got a few weeks ago is just faded as expected. there is still copper toning, but I have been red for about 20 years. It didn't harm my hair at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from East to use and done what it promised. I liked usung this product. Yeah it was stinky but not unbearable. It brought my hair back to a nice colour and i would use it again if i needed to. I had faded red ends and dark brown roots and mids and this took care of it all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it I used this to get the unwanted colour out of my thick waist length hair and I'm thrilled with the results. I did buy 4 boxes to be sure I had enough and except for the clarifying shampoo for step 1 there was plenty of everything else. They need to put double in so you have enough for both times you have to use it. The reviews I read before I bought it all said it stunk like rotten eggs but I thought it was more like burnt rubber like I'd been in the thick smoke at Summernats. The smell didn't bother me and my Mr never said anything about it at all. I would definitely buy it again.

My hair is bleached with lots of highlights (but naturally dark brown), and decided to go darker for a change but didn’t like the results (very dark with a touch of red) and didn’t want to apply more bleach to my hair to make it lighter again...so I got this product a day later - The product def removed the darkness and the redness of the permanent color I used: maybe lifted 1 - 2 shades. The smell is not actually this bad. Now my hair is golden and slightly copper on the roots but I really like the results! The clarifying shampoo def makes the hair super dry, the actual colour removal stuff not so much, but after applying the mask after whole treatment (for 30min) (plus a bit of hair conditioner after that) hair feels absolutely fine! Doesn’t feel damaged! I got 2 boxes in case I needed to repeat treatment but I will leave for now as I’m happy as it is! I will probably use some blue shampoo too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised. Just tried this after having a dark purple/red permanent dye in my hair for 3 months. I used 2 boxes for my long and thick hair and could have possibly used another half a bottle but I'm cheap. Results are great a little brassyness to my natural dark blonde hair but overall very happy with the result. What I didn't like is the smell even after washing multiple times has lingered. It's not a pleasant smell at all but worth it for the results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product that won't damage hair I've used this product twice and will never use bleach to lighten my hair EVER AGAIN. Bleach dries and breaks my hair; this product leaves my hair feeling wonderful. It doesn't remove the colour completely, though both times I used it was after a long time of having dark hair colour in my hair, and so lightened it to a brassy colour, basically the same as what bleach does when I use that. Last time I used this, I used 2 boxes - one after the other - and no colour difference between the first and second time, so don't bother wasting your money trying to lighten it once it's lightened the first time. Waste of $20 for me but I know for next time! The smell is a bit off-putting but it washes out so don't stress too much about that. If you want to lighten, definitely give this a go rather than using bleach. This product will not damage your hair the way bleach will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job I read alot of bad reviews about this product and was scared to use it. 1. The Smell - its not as bad as some people make it out to be. It smells like 90s perm lotion. Its exactly that. Its not that bad. I used Aveda’s purifying mint shampoo and it killed the smell afterwards. 2. The application was okay mid length hair needs atleast 2 boxes. I would buy another for round 2. The instructions werent that clear but once you read through it once or twice you get the just of it. 3. The results - look there is no miracle cure to get your hair back to your natural colour besides depositing colour and toning the hair to the desired shade. Box dye ruins pigment as it contains peroxide so your bound to have brown, copper or any other red deposit left over especially if you use black dye due to hair cuticle stains. My hair was black and it turned out copper. There are some black patches due to not having enough of the product ( I expected this stubborn dye is a pest) so will have to buy another pack but all in all my husband was really surprised when he saw me it lightened my hair substantially. I am off to but another pack tomorrow and overall I am happy with the result

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightened my hair I had spent a year growing out my natural auburn hair but I had very dark brown, almost black ends from years of L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss box dye in dark brown that was meant to wash out after 28 washes. Not so. After trying dandruff shampoo and bicarb that didn't really make a difference in lightening/removing the dye I decided to try this hair colour remover. I ended up buying 3 boxes and doing each application 1 week apart to give my hair a break in between. The first application lightened my hair from black to dark brown. The second application lightened from dark brown to medium brown and third application lightened the ends to a light reddy brown which is my auburn coming through. Some of my ends are darker than others but overall I am pleased with the result. This hair colour remover did not change my natural hair colour in anyway. I might do 2 more boxes in 6 months time to give my hair a break to remove any remaining darkness. After two weeks I put through Schwarzkopf live colour in deep black (semi permanent that washes out in 8 washes) to blend my hair and make the contrast look less shocking. Will just be using this semi permanent that I know washes out until my natural hair colour has fully grown out. This product is good for old built up hair dye. My hair is armpit length and has at least 2-3 years of old box dye that was dyed every month. The conclude balm does help to re-hydrate your hair after application but I also did a coconut oil treatment and used a strong smelling mask to reduce the smell that emanates from my hair when it gets wet. Use a disposable shower cap and a hairdryer to warm your hair for 10 mins to ease removal. Make sure that you throw everything out -all the bottles, shower cap etc otherwise it will stink out your bathroom and clean your bathroom afterward to avoid rotten egg smell.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great, not bad I didn't find this to be as stinky as a lot other other reviews suggested - if you've dyed your own hair before this should be fine. It did an OK job of stripping colour from my hair. Didn't get it all out, but helped a bit. I still ended up doing a bleach bath later to do it properly, but if you want to strip permanent dye out without lightening your hair this is probably the best you're going to get.

Had little effect on my colour. obviously closest to root worked better having turned a light medium chestnut colour. Whole process has left hair feeling silky soft though so points for that! This was just one of the steps I am taking to lighten my hair, this being the first, so kinda expected what I got. Smells like a hair salon during and for a while after but I didn't think overbearing like others.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't work but might have been application issue I used 1 box of this on my past shoulder length hair. 1 box is not enough. I think you really need to put it on thick so buy multiple boxes if you have long or thick hair. I managed to apply to all my hair but I think it probably needed to be thickly coated. I've been dying my hair a darker brown with box dye for years and this product didn't really lighten it. It has brought out the red/orange undertone of the box dye more but didn't actually change the level of darkness of my hair. My natural hair is like a level 6 and my dyed hair is about a 3 or 4. My ends are just as dark as they were before I used this but looking more reddish toned. I think this might work if you've just dyed your hair once but not on years of built up permanent colour. Also if I used 2 boxes and applied it thickly I think it might have worked better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay product Previously, I had used the same brands - hair stripper and it worked great. But did not want to strip this time so brought this decolour one. Going from dark browny/black it got rid of some colour but not much and defiantly not back to the light brown/blonde I was before hand. So I was a little dissapointed, but over all. I think if you had maybe light brown dye over blonde and wanted to lighted your hair I think it would defiantly do the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from lightens dyed hair a couple pf shades This product did exactly what it is supposed to do. I did not find it hugley effective and it is not worth $20 for the bottle. It seems fairly low strength. It work as jo baz does and smells the same like rotton eggs. I used a longer application and hairdryer. My hair was black covering red covering blonde. Jo baz got my hair to from a colour #2 dark brown to about a #4 brown though very patchy with some still quite black, and golden blonde ends Scott cornwall got it about 1-2 shades lighter but did not help withthe patchiness. So now the dark parts are about a colour #4 and the rest is a dark Blonde #14 or strawberry blonde #33 . Re the stench and dryig out your hair. I used the part 3 applicator in place of conditioner and used a coupleof nce smelling antifrizzes to help with it being dried out and reeking of eggs It will lighten your hair a few shades and lift out about one round of hairdye not magically restore it to its real colour it is a "remover!!" It will NOT strip it entirley. All the low reviews seem to be written buy people who do not understand this. I wish it lightened my hair more but to be fair i am trying to slowly reach my real colour. An extreme colour xhange will require blea and half your hair fallin out.
