Rated 4 out of 5 by from Discovery bag dermal therapy hand balm This anti ageing hand balm promises to give you visibly younger hands within eight weeks. After using it as directed (two to three times a day) for two weeks, I would have to say that while they don't quite look visibly younger just yet, they do look plumper and more hydrated. It has a clinical/ointment type smell that is typical of all dermal therapy products I have used. It's bearable, but if you like fragrant hand creams, this is not going to make you happy. The 40g tube is small enough to go in your handbag. But the hole in the flip top lid is too big for the consistency of the product so it tends to dispense too much, which is really annoying. I spend many hours driving as part of my job, so I love the concept of my hand cream containing spf and this will be the reason I will continue to use this product, along with the fact that it is Australian made and owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dermal Therapy Anti-Ageing Hand Balm--April Discovery Bag I recieved this hand balm inside my April Discovery Bag. The product claims to improve skin collagen and elasticity, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and visibly lighten age spots and pigmentation. It contains spf15 to protect the hands throughout the day and it is recommended to apply the product twice throughout the day. At present, I have no age spots on my hands as of yet or any noticeable pigmentation. I do have issues with dryness, dehydration and my hands do appear a little wrinkly. When opening the box I was a little surprised, the hand balm is quite small! It contains 40g of product and is quite small for a hand cream. It's texture reminds me a lot like sunscreen; it is quite 'thin' in texture; liquidy and runny not like a balm at all as the products name suggests. One light squeeze of the tube is enough for one application, but be careful when doing so as the product is so runny it comes out quite quickly and can be easy to dispense too much. It is white in colour, it's fragrance smells a little like sunscreen. I found it easy to use, non greasy, quickly and easily absorbed into my thirsty hands. In terms of moisturisation I found this to be quite good, it leaves the hands feeling nice and soft with no stickiness or greasiness. After using throughout the course of the month I still have about half a tube left which is surprising, given the tiny size of the tube and twice a day application requirement. After using twice a day throughout the month my hands do look noticeably better. They feel noticeably smoother, softer and look considerably brighter. This is a good product, I think best suited for the early stages of pigmentation, wrinkles and loss of elasticity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Non-greasy hand cream that gives results Thank you so much BH for letting me try out a bunch of fab products in the April Discovery Bag, with this being one of them. I was just actually on the hunt for a hand cream, my hands are super dry and since I wash my hands quite a bit and use antibacterial gel (I'm around kids a lot), so my hands get really dry. This cream has been really good. The consistency when I first opened it was nice and thick, but I left it in a room without aircon and it turned really liquidy and hasn't gone back to being thick. It's now so liquidy it just squires out of the tube without applying any pressure to the tube which is quite annoying. Still works the same though, it goes on nice and smooth, the skin really soaks it up and it absorbs really well. Has a scent that is light, can't really describe the smell, reminds me of suncreen. My skin doesn't have that tight feeling anymore after I use it. Only thing is I have to use quite a bit of it to get a really moisturised feeling and the 40g tube won't last long at all for me. I feel in the week I've been using it the appearance on the skin on my hands is smoother. I will continue to use for longer to see if there are any better results. Love that it has spf, not often hand creams have this so a big win there. Packaging, it's a good size to pop in the handbag. Overall am happy with the cream. It turned really runny after being left in a hot room, around 30 degrees. It does say on the tube to store between 10-30 degrees so I guess I hit the max for it and it changed the consistency. Otherwise, all good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from April Discovery Bag: Wonderful hand cream Thank you to Beautyheaven for allowing me to be a part of the April discovery bag! I was given several different items to try out and one of them was the dermal therapy anti ageing hand balm. I am always using hand creams as my hands are very dry but I'm never focusing on the anti ageing aspect of my hands. Moisturising and keeping my hands soft yes, helping with the appearance of wrinkles not really! Although it is important for me to keep my hands looking youthful (as it can really show your age) its hard to find products out there that are targeted for that specific area. The dermal therapy hand cream is supposed to help with skin elasticity as well as reducing age spots and pigmentation and wrinkles. My hands luckily aren't wrinkly and do not contain any spots or pigmentation so I cannot comment on how the hand cream helped with those specific problems however I will go through the hand cream itself and what I liked, what helped and what I think needs improvement. First of all hand creams for me cannot be greasy or heavy in the slightest as I will run to the nearest bathroom to wash it all off. This hand cream was creamy and gave my dry hands a lot of moisture without feeling greasy or oily. I rubbed it all over and it absorbed easily, didn't leave any residue behind and it didn't leave my hands feeling sticky. The cream also didn't have a scent which I didn't mind as fragrances can irritate skin so probably better that it didn't have any! I also really liked that the cream contained SPF 15 which in my opinion is non negotiable. If you're going to be out and about you can't neglect your hands! We protect everywhere else on our body but we tend to forget about our hands. The easiest way is just by using some hand cream instead of having to slather some SPF from the pump which can leave a white cast. My hands felt really soft and smooth and I only had to reapply once or twice throughout the day. It's hard to say for sure whether it helped with improving skin elasticity. The only thing I can say is that it was a lovely hand cream that helped moisturise my dry hands and didn't leave my hands feeling greasy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok product Feels good as a nice thick night moisturiser, but not sure my hands look any different. Mind you they weren’t bad to begin with…

Rated 3 out of 5 by from April Discovery Bag Hand Creams I have gotten this anti- ageing hand cream in my April Discovery bag to try. First off, I have tried the Dermal Therapy brand heel balm before. This hand cream is slightly more watery in consistency compared to the heel balm. It rubs on well and is pretty quickly absorbed. My hands seem better with repeated use, but not enough to comment on the anti- ageing factor in it. With the SPF, I am struggling to put 1 teaspoon of product on my hands without it running everywhere... too much work for SPF 15. Yes it is a great idea, but execution wise is questionable for me. All in all, this is a good hand cream/ lotion to carry around in the bag. But have to squeeze little by little and that can be a little challenging due to its consistency.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent hand balm I was also lucky enough to try this from the April discovery bag. I've never tried any products from the dermal therapy range before so this is my first ever. SO first impression I think the tube is very small - to take with you in your hand bag is great as it’s a perfect size to throw in there, BUT overall for a hand cream in general I think it is a tad too small for the price you pay in all honesty. Overall the balm is not bad. The texture and consistency IS a tad runny but not too much, it does absorb quickly but if you don’s squeeze too much it shouldn’t be an issue! As I’ve only been trying it for a few weeks its too early to say about the wrinkles being minimised (Although I haven’t got heaps of wrinkles on my hands either, only a few so I would imagine it would be a minimal noticeable effect for myself personally). I did have a few spots on my hands which I have noticed are now gone and my hands are much softer and smoother overall since using it so overall is a good hand balm and helps with elasticity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Anti-ageing hand lotion with SPF I was lucky to receive this to trial in the April Discovery Bag. I had not tried Dermal Therapy products before and I am always using hand cream so I was looking forward to trying this new one out. It is packaged in a small white upside down tube with a flip top lid. The consistency is quite runny, similar to a lotion and is white in colour. Initial thoughts are that it looks and applies like a sunscreen and this may be due to the SPF 15 sun protection. It doesn't smell too much like a sunscreen fortunately. It is recommended to massage this in two to three times daily, however I wash my hands so many times during the day that this washes off and my skin is left feeling tight and dry so I always need to re-apply. As a result, 40g of lotion will not last me long. It is "richly formulated, so a little goes a long way", however due to the very runny consistency and as it is packaged in an upside down tube, the force of gravity instantly dispenses quite a lot in the hand without even squeezing the bottle, so you do end up with quite a lot of product and I end up using this on my arms as well. The lotion takes a while to dry down however I do feel like there is a slightly tacky residue on my hands which I'm not really a fan of. Luckily I do not suffer from any pigmentation or sun spots on my hands nor any visible wrinkles (years of hand cream obsession must be paying off!) so I cannot attest to those claims to lighten pigmentation and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I like that it contains SPF 15, there are not many hand creams on the market that do so so this is a positive. It also contains a plant based ingredient that promotes collagen and elastin synthesis so gimme more of that please!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not moisturising enough I received Dermal Therapy anti-ageing hand balm as part of the April Discovery bag. I’ve been using this twice a day morning and night. This hand balm comes in a 40g squeeze tube with a flip top lid. It is formulated to improve skin collagen & elasticity while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and to visibly lighten age spots and pigmentation for younger looking hands. As I have dry dehydrated skin I thought this would be ideal for my hands. This hand balm is white in colour; has lotion like consistency and I find the scent of it similar to lanolin creams that I have used in the past. On application, it does absorb quite quickly and doesn’t leave skin feeling sticky or greasy which is fantastic. But not long after applying it, I found my hands were dry again and felt the need to re-apply. I personally prefer rich creamy balm like texture for my hand creams and I found this hand balm was just okay as I didn’t find it intensely moisturising for my dry hands as per my liking. I didn’t really notice any improvement in the condition of my skin whilst using this daily for 2 weeks (neither reduction in the appearance of the wrinkles on my hands nor any improvement in the elasticity of the skin). Maybe one needs to use it for longer to notice these changes. Overall, I feel in terms of hydration, this hand balm would work well for normal to oily skin as compared to dry dehydrated skin as it doesn’t have long lasting moisturising effects and I don’t like to re-apply my hand cream frequently.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from April Discovery Bag item! I received this hand balm in the April Discovery bag and was excited as with the other products I received. The size I received was 40 g so perfect to throw in the hand bag and use during the day! The directions state apply 2-3 times daily. Prior to receiving this product I have been applying sunscreen on my hands every morning as part of my AM routine. My mum has a lot of age spots on her hands so I thought to combat this (by the time I get to her age) I should start wearing sunscreen on the hands - I have been doing this for 2-3 years now. Back to the product, hence why I was excited to receive a hand balm that incorporated SPF! My hands also gets very dried so all in all this product is my dream product! On the plus side, I love that it is australian made and owned. I have been using this now religiously 2-3 times a day. The scent is not too strong but I cannot get use to it. It smells like sunscreen with cheap floral scent over it (if that makes sense). I'm not sure if I am describing the smell right but overall I do not like it. It moisturises the hands fairly well but you will definitely need to apply 2-3 times a day. Once a day is not sufficient as my hands go back to its dry state which is a little disappointing. The product itself is very runny. It absorbs well but is very runny and the tube is quite hard to click into place. If you are not careful the product can go everywhere. Great concept for marketing purposes incorporating SPF and anti-ageing but the product needs work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dermal’s Anti-Ageing Hand Cream I got to try this hand cream as part of my first discovery bag! I don’t have wrinkles on my hands but I do have some age spots. The hand cream is perfumed but it’s not overpowering. It’s quite nice. The cream itself turns into more of a water consistency after I rub it into my hands. I find the moisture doesn’t last very long so I have to reapply a lot more frequently. My hands feel dry sooner than I hope. I am mostly indoors throughout the day so I haven’t been able to take advantage of the spf. My hands don’t look any younger as far as I can tell.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favourite I received Dermal Therapy's Anti Ageing Hand Balm in April's BH Discovery Bag, but it didn't rock my socks off. I've used other hand creams that I prefer over this one, but you know what, I gave it a go. The thing I didn't particularly like about it was that it left like a powdery build up around my nail beds. I just felt like it could do more according to it write up. Whether it helps to reduce the signs of aging hands is still yet to be seen, but I don't have a huge amount of hope. I think I'll stick to other brands.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't float my boat I received this in the April Discovery Bag and was super excited to try it because I love their lip balm. However, I was left really disappointed by it. I personally don't have any sun spots, but I do struggle with poor elasticity in my hands and very, very dry skin. I have been using this hand cream for two weeks now and I think it is time to give it up because it is just not working for me. I find it the packaging to be frustrating to work with, because the product dispensing hole far larger than it should be. Even lightly squeezing the tube makes the product shoot out because it is so runny, and product is then wasted because you only need a little bit to cover both hands. I find that the product is more of a runny balm texture wise, however, it does not have the moisturise and barrier protection that you would expect a balm to have. Within half an hour of application, my hands feel tight and dry again! I end up using so much product during the day because I have to constantly reapply the hand cream - it really isn't cost effective at all for me. I also find the amount of SPF in the cream really disappointing. SPF needs to be a minimum of 30 to truly protect the skin from sun damage, particularly in Australia with such high UV ratings. An SPF of 15+ is also really important when clearing pigmentation from the skin, as your skin is usually more sensitive to UV damage when doing so.
