Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good basic exfoliator Cetaphil is, for me, a great go-to brand for no-frills or basic skin care. I trialled this exfoliator as part of the trial team and didn't know much about the product so went in with fairly limited expectations. I have been using the exgfoliant for several weeks now and I think it's a great product, albeit a little harsher than what I typically like. I have quite dehydrated and sensitive skin, and I found this product to be more intensely exfoliating than what I normally use. I still really liked the product and thought I could see a change with my skin looking brighter and healthier, but maybe just slightly more dehydrated than prior to using, I usually use a gel leave-on exfoliant, which I actually prefer, just because it seems more gentle for my skin type. having said that, if your skin type tends to be normal as opposed to dry or sensitve, then this would be a great go-to exfoliator, and great value for money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Little gritty pieces to help with exfoliation I've been using the Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser for the last few weeks, as part of the Cetaphil trial team, and I'm ready to talk about it! Overall, I want to point out that although I gave it 3 stars, I really would have given it 3.5 stars if I'd been able to, because while this is better than what I would consider a 3 star product to be, this is also not quite what I'd put as a 4 star product. Let me explain! This comes in a white upright tube with a blue flip lid, which enables you to get the product out of it easily. The product itself comes out as a clear gel-like texture, with little gritty pieces inside, and I mean really little, that will help with exfoliation. It does do a good job of exfoliation, but my preference is for exfoliation pieces to be bigger than this. That said, it does the job, but also does make my skin feel a little squeaky, so even though it says that this is meant for daily exfoliation, I would recommend doing this every other day instead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great cleanser but not much exfoliation Just as a cleanser I would have easily given it 4 stars but the only reason I had to reduce one is because it suppose to be exfoliating but doesn't do much of that. The packaging of this product is very clean, crisp and appealing. Easy to use tube and the product itself is also this beautiful gel with tiny beads and mild fragrance. Unlike most other products by the brand, this one isn't completely fragrance free but it isn't harsh so I definitely didn't mind. This cleanser even though very simple, is really good at taking away all the dirt and build of pollution. Not ideal for removing make up but perfect to use after a good oil based cleansers. After suggestion from a friend, I also tried it out with a cleansing wand and the result was definitely more impressive that way. Can't say it doesn't dry out the skin but because I anyway use a toner and hydrating serum, this didn't bother me much. The only downside was that the beads in this gel cleanser are too tiny, smooth and really few to do any exfoliation. So do give it a try if you like the brand and use it with a cleansing device for best results.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little drying for drier skin types The Cetaphil Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is a nice gel cleanser with micro beads for polishing the skin. I have dry skin and found the micro beads were a little harsh for my skin. I felt that they were not as smooth as I would have liked and felt like they were tugging a little on my skin. The cleanser is easy to rinse off, but I didn't like the way my skin felt tight afterwards. I'm not sure if the gel holding the microbeads could have been a bit thicker to help the beads move more smoothly over the skin, or that there could be less beads but either way it felt a little too much for my skin. While my skin did feel smooth, it was just a bit too drying. This particular product isn't fragrance free, but the scent is quite nice. The packaging is simple and sturdy. I would have preferred a pump bottle for convenience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Exfoliating? The Cetaphil 5 step range includes a gentle exfoliating scrub that comes in a flip top tube. This product contains barely any exfoliating properties, the microbeads are tiny which I like but there are so few they can’t possibly exfoliate my face. I don’t understand what the point of this product is, it performs very poorly and I honestly expected more from Cetaphil. It left a residue on my skin and I didn’t feel it did a very good job of cleansing. My skin feels uncomfortable after using this and I need to use my regular cleanser to remove all traces of it. I’m sad to say I’m very dissatisfied with the exfoliating cleanser and the five step range from Cetaphil. There are better performing products on the market in this price range. I hope Cetaphil take note that this product doesn’t perform as an exfoliator and make some improvements to it.
