Directions

1. Press the power/scan button to turn the thermometer on. The unit will
 show the last reading.
2. Forehead: Place the thermometer up against the temple ensuring the
 scanner is touching against the temple.
3. With the probe pressed against the forehead press the scan button once.
4. Within one second you should hear a beep and the temperature is taken.
 Repeat this process at least 3 times to get an average reading. Then try in
 ear mode and read next page for the dierences in reading types.
5 Ear: Remove the probe cap to reveal the ear probe.
6. Insert the probe into the ear following, after checking the correct method
 on the following page and press the scan button once.
7. Within one second you should hear a beep and the temperature is taken.
 Repeat this process at least 3 times to get an average reading.

People keep raving on about the Vicks one, but I would rather not have to undress my baby to put something under their armpits no matter how quickly it takes. They still cry no matter what! At least this one no undressing needed.

I can tell you that the last thing a sick toddler wants is to sit still with half a shirt on until a thermometer warms up enough to get an accurate result! I am so impressed with the Cherub infrared thermometer. It literally takes a second to give a reading and it's incredibly non-invasive. I also like that I don't need to worry about having probe covers to use it in ear mode. I should have purchased this sooner!

I prefer the thermometers that have yellow for mid range which means ‘don’t panic just yet!’ Ha ha I thought this was a non contact forehead thermometer but it needs to be held against the head or temple for one second to be accurate. In ear is comfortable as far as sticking something in your ear goes. Temps are accurate, I have 2 digitals thermometers & I like this one better. It’s light weight, has sound off & a light for checking temps when kids are sleeping. Memory recall very easy to operate too. Worth the money spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A rough start but strongly recommend Bought this several months ago. Initially I was disappointed as I was getting weird results... then I read the instructions!!! And learnt a few things such as the sunscreen we were wearing might skew the temp, then I was blown away with how easy it was to use. I’ve used it on multiple occasions with my two boys (now aged 1 and 3) and also used on adults. It is super easy to check again in the ear if the forehead temp is a bit dirty from touching the forehead (though you don’t have to touch the head it does sometimes happen with wriggly bubs)

It’s actually quite dangerous in the variation of results. Disappointed! I couldn’t trust the results which caused anxiety when my child had a temperature. And I couldn’t trust the reading.
