Rated 5 out of 5 by from Visibly reduced pores The Garnier Skin Active Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with Black Algae is a really good quality mask – thick and strong. The mask is easy to unfold and position on my face. The mask fits my face very well, and all the peep holes are in the right position. The mask feels quite cooling, is very comfortable and I am able to move around while the mask stays in place during the 15-20 minute wait for the product to do its work. After using the mask for 20 minutes I find that my skin looks so clear and smooth and the pores on my nose are hardly visible while the pores on my chin have dramatically reduced in size. There is so much product in this mask so I gently massage the excess product all over my face and neck. My skin feels so light and clean and looks and feels really hydrated. This continues well into the following day. I don’t experience any adverse reaction whatsoever while wearing the mask or after I take it off. There is no tingling, redness or irritation. I believe the product lives up to its claims of providing lasting hydration; reducing the appearance of pores; and purifying the skin. I would recommend this charcoal-infused tissue mask to anyone who would like an ultra-hydrating, pore refining mask that leaves their skin feeling and looking clear and smooth.

The mask was easy to use, unlike many other sheet masks that are slippery and hard to unfold. It wasn't messy at all and I didn't feel like the mask was going to slide off my face. It definitely left my skin feeling much smoother, softer, and incredibly moisturised. \nThe compact size also makes it perfect to take while traveling! Would highly recommend!\n

It delivered on many levels being: easy to read and follow instructions, didn’t have any issues with the mask slipping off (is better to lay down and relax though), pleasant scent and not overly gooey.\nI found that my pores were more refined and my skin was soft and hydrated. I would definitely purchase again as it’s great value for money and an inexpensive pamper treat.\n

After trialing this product  I would definitely agree that it is a pore refining mask mine were less noticeable than prior to using this product. This mask was super hydrating and doesn't have a strong scent which some masks do have, which is something i look for in masks cause if i am leaving that on my face for 15-20 mins i don't want to be suffocating on the scent. i have sensitive skin which is also oily to combination and found that this mask didn't cause me any problems.... it didn't add to the oiliness of my skin which i have found other mask that hydrate but make my skin too oily. I recommend also using Garniers 3 in 1 clay face was,scrub, and mask (I have tried the white clay and the black clay, and they are amazing too and when i used them with this mask my skin started clearing up and looking better just after the first wash).  Overall i am very happy with this product and after trialing will be buying this in the future.

I regularly use face masks in general to hydrate my skin and reduce my appearance of pores. When I tried Garnier's face mask I was excited as the charcoal tissue was nice to apply, normally I find face masks quite cold initially when applying. Once removing the face mask I could straight away see a reduce appearance in my pores (AMAZING!!!)... My skin was definitely hydrating and smooth, I will definitely use it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love sheet masks, they're so easy and mess free. This mask was easy to apply and fit really nicely to my face and felt so refreshing! My skin is quite dry but this mask really gave it a hit of hydration and left it feeling silky smooth. I think it's something you would have to use more frequently to see a dramatic change in your skin but after just the one use I did notice my pores and skin felt tighter. I would recommend to give it a try, great for a pamper sesh!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you Beauty Crew for asking me to trial the Garnier Skin Active Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with Black Algae.  I love using masks so this trial was of particular interest to me.  \n \nI like the design and colours of the pack which is quite striking and easily identifiable on a store shelf.  \n \nThe black tissue mask is a really good quality – thick and strong.  The mask was easy to unfold and then position on my face.  The mask fitted very well, with all the peep holes in the right position for me.  The mask felt quite cooling, was very comfortable and I was able to move around while the mask stayed in place during the 15 minute wait for the product to do its work.  \n \nBefore I applied the mask I took a good look at my pores which aren’t massive but to me are quite noticeable.  When I removed the mask I was surprised to find that my skin looked so clear and smooth and the pores on my nose were hardly visible while the pores on my chin had dramatically reduced in size.  \n \nI gently massaged the excess product all over my face and neck.  My skin felt so light and clean and looked and felt really hydrated.  After a few hours when it was time to go to bed my skin looked so good that I only applied a night moisturiser, cutting out the toner, serum and facial oil that I would normally apply.  The next morning my skin still looked radiant and continued to do so all day.  \n \nI experienced no adverse reaction whatsoever while wearing the mask or after I took it off.  There was no tingling, redness or irritation.  \n \nI absolutely love this mask and I have already purchased another.  I believe the product lives up to its claims of providing lasting hydration; reducing the appearance of pores; and purifying the skin.  This is another fabulous product from Garnier.  \n \nI would recommend this charcoal-infused tissue mask to anyone who would like an ultra-hydrating, pore refining mask that leaves their skin feeling and looking clear and smooth.    \n

The mask is very easy to apply, no fiddly backings to remove and the face shape seemed to fit better than most masks. I have very sensitive skin and this was fine, no irritation at all. I got this already affordable mask at half price and it was overall a very positive experience - I can't say the effects blew my mind (my visible pores looked the same) but it did leave my skin feeling tightened, hydrated and soft. The sheet mask is easy to apply, a workable size and feels thick and heavy on the skin (which is a nice, pampering sensation) - the packaging is easy to use and easy to discard and doesn't leave you with half a dozen little pieces to pile together and dispose. Something I liked a lot about this mask is you can sort of 'feel' when it's 'done' - after the instructed time use, it starts to feel a little dry and so it's easy to use even without setting a timer. The mask easily sticks together once you take it off to make it easy and not-sloppy to dispose of. It leaves a layer of serum on the skin that melts into the skin when you massage. Overall a fantastic price for a good product with some nice effects. Will definitely continue to use Garnier sheet masks, they legitimately always seem to be the best ones and are always reasonably priced. They feel luxurious without a big price tag.

My skin felt smooth and softer after using. Its good for all skin types. Leave on for 15 minutes and do something relaxing read a book or magazine.

It felt very refreshing & when I removed the mask my face looked brighter and hydrated and felt cleaner. After patting in the excess serum into my face it took a while to absorb/dry but I didn’t find this too much of a problem since I use face masks at night before bed. Overall a good product and very affordable.

Anyway, this mask was quite nice. The tissue mask itself was black and thin. You couldn't see any charcoalie bits which I expected that you would. I left the mask on for 15 minutes and removed the tissue bit and massaged the remaining mixture onto my face and neck, whilst I didn't see any immediate change to my pore size I didn't notice a slight change in the size of them. It did make my skin look more refreshed! Clean and soft. I guess it takes more then one use to work it was refreshing and I will repurchase and see what happens then. I really like the budget price and it seems more high end then the actual price tag

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Charcoal and algae success As I have been apart of the trial team, I’ve been able to use each of the masks. I was interested in this mask the most, with charcoal and algae, a very interfering combination. The masks was a little difficult to remove without the fear of damaging it on removal. There was a slight smell to each which eased within a few minutes. Once unwrapping and placing the mask on my face, I found it to contour to my skin and stay on for the 15minutes. There is extra serum in the packet that can by used on your neck or rubbed into the skin after removal. The packaging is slightly bigger than a hand size, perfect for travelling. This masks claims to reduce pores, I found my skin to look my fresh, more of a glow, skin texture smoother and pores slightly smaller. I would use this masks again, if you have an event coming up or wanting to remove some of the excess dirt in your skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No noticable smaller pores I received this as part of my trial team. The charcoal tissue mask is another interesting mask by Garnier, soaked in hyarulonic acid. The mask is aimed for beauties with large pores, and a promise to minimize them. As expected, the mask is black because it was made of charcoal. It is also reasonably saturated with serum, which is good. I left this on for the time required. The serum was dripping a little so i massaged it into my neck. It had a nice serum feel to it. Charcoal itself is lauded for its dirt absorbing properties, so i was keen. After removing the mask and massaging the rest of the serum into my face, i was left with a clear looking face. Not that the mask had erased my pores, but i could definitely see a difference in clarity. I might not be a full convert, but the charcoal mask will be helpful on the future for times where i would hate to have breakouts. Overall, not a bad mask if you are looking for a 2 in one. Hydrating and pore cleansing. Though the hydration does not last 24 hours, i still think it's good.

Firstly, the mask itself didn't tear easily and had a nice amount of serum on it which was awesome. This made it so much more comfortable to sit with it on my skin for 15 minutes. I really enjoyed the scent of this mask - it was different to anything that I've tried before but was really nice and refreshing. This mask was felt hydrating and didn't leave my skin feeling clogged or sticky like some sheet masks do. The mask gave my skin a really nice glow that lasted all day - I chose not to wear makeup that day because I didn't want to ruin it! It definitely minimised the appearance of my pores like it claimed to do as well which was really good! Out of all the sheet masks, I would definitely recommend this one the most!

I found the Skin Active Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with black algae the one out of the four to trial of particular interest to me. I have combination/ oily skin and often suffer hormonal breakouts. At the time of using the mask I had exactly that. The mask is easy to use and fits well to the face. It doesn’t have any particularly strong smell. I left it on for the recommended time. As the mask came out of the packet quiet moist I had lots of residue left on my face after removing the mask. I rubbed it in and allowed to dry rather than washing off. I did find that it worked reasonably well but would have been better to use more than once to actually see some results. Overall was a good tissue face mask to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So pleased there's a pore refining mask catered to dry skin! I enjoyed trialling this mask. I'm stoked that a 'drugstore' brand has brought out a mask that is targeted at purifying skin and refining pores but will also provide hydration. The mask is actually black as it is infused with charcoal. I found the scent to be plain but pleasant. After applying the mask and waiting the recommended 15 minutes, I found my skin to be plump and hydrated, and my pores more refined and less noticeable. Although I didn't find my blackheads completely gone, but I could still see a noticeable difference. My increased hydration levels seemed to last for a few hours also. As I've said in my other reviews, I did find the formula of the Garnier masks to be sticky so I'd recommend prior to applying makeup in the morning as it gives a great hydrated and plump base to work upon, and not before bed as my face would stick to my pillow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reduced redness and appearance of pores I've always been a little bit sceptical about the ability of face masks to reduce the appearance of pores but this mask managed to have a visible effect on my pores. The tissue comes folded in the packaging and has a generous amount of serum in it. The tissue mask fit my face nicely and felt refreshing on my skin. There was enough serum left in the packaging for me to spread some onto my neck as well. I was able to go about my day for about 15 minutes before taking it off. Once I had removed the mask, my skin immediately felt nicely hydrated. It also didn't leave my skin red like a lot of masks to which was a bonus. There was a bit of residue serum on my skin so I rubbed this in and let it dry. My pores were clearly refined/cleaned out which in turn made them look smaller. This mask is good and does its job well. It is decently priced so I would consider buying it again.

I have oily skin with acne and found this mask helped to reduce inflammation but hydrated my skin at the same time. The shape of the mask for well with my face - but I have a small face so there was some excess sheet - I just dragged it down my chin/neck. The sheet is loaded with product so after use, I massaged the excess serum into my skin until it fully absorbed. There was a slight tacky feel to my skin afterwards but if you’ve use it on a day when you’re sitting at home it won’t bother you - but I’d have to rinse this off if I was going somewhere due to my preferences because it can make you look shiny. Overall I did really enjoy using this mask and found it suited my skin type well. I’ll be keeping an eye out for these in store and will definitely pick up a few to stock up when on sale!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quick mask for freshening and clearing the skin I was dubious about trialing this mask; I've used sheet masks in the past and found them messy, poorly fitted, and not that effective. But Garnier have really hit the nail on the head with this product. My skin type is oily, dehydrated, pigmented, with visible pores. I love products that utilise charcoal, so I was most excited about trialing this one out of all the masks. The instructions are easy to follow, the packaging simple to open. The mask easily unfolds and applies to the contours of your face; I found the material was supple enough to ensure really good contact with the skin (something other sheet masks have failed to do), and there was plenty of serum available without being too messy or sloppy. The mask applies as a single layer. What I loved most about this mask is that I could actually do other things during the 15 minute application time. Pre-babies I used to love doing a weekly clay mask, but hated the way the mask would dry to the point you could barely speak or move, and left clouds of clay dust all over the place if you tried. With a 1 year old I no longer have time for those sorts of luxuries, so this mask was soooo perfect! I waited til bub went down for a nap, popped on the mask, and then set about doing the chores. Great multi-tasking! The serum has a mild astringent scent which is pleasant, and feels very cooling and refreshing on the skin, you can almost feel a slight tingle. My second favourite thing about this mask is that when you remove it after the 15 minutes, there is plenty of serum remaining on the skin. You massage that in and let the ingredients continue their good work. No trying to wash my face over a sink and making a massive mess everywhere! It really feels like you're getting the most out of the product by leaving it on the skin to absorb. I chose to use this mask after Christmas - my skin was feeling so congested from all the festive foods, drinks, beach time (gotta love that sunscreen, sand and sweat combo for you complexion!) and, I have to admit, a few occasions where I slept in my makeup (I know, I know!). This mask did a fantastic job of thoroughly yet gently removing impurities, providing a very gentle exfoliation (from the LHA), and leaving my skin beautifully fresh and moisturised. It gave my skin a much needed holiday from the holidays!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good price and works well I received 4 of the garner masks to trial, the charcoal mask was the first one I tried. The mask comes in a black sachet with and easy tear cut at the side. My skin had been quite dry and flakey in the last few weeks so it was a good time to use the mask. I prefer the sizing of the fresh mix masks because they fit my face better I just cut of the face mask because it was hanging over my lip which It easier. I let it sit for about twenty minutes then took it off and patted the serum into my skin. I recommend letting it soak for awhile after you take it off. The charcoal mask was probaly my second favourite out of the masks I trialed. even a few days after I noticed that my skin was more hydrate. I think that the price is really good you can get it for aroudn 3 dollars at chemist warehous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Charcoal Power Charcoal is an imperative ingredient in my skin care routine so was super excited to trial this one. As it is a new product I read over the information and instructions on the back. This mask is super easy, one sheet tissue mask, ready to go. Be careful handling the mask and ensure it is applied to a clean cleansed face, the mask follows the contours of your face. It requires 15 minutes for optimal results, during this time you can relax or move around it didn’t fall off my face. The mask worked really well to brighten and deep clean my skin and pores, refreshed like a had a good nights sleep. As it is a single use product I am pleased to read that Garnier have teamed up with TerraCyle to reduce waste and educate as this product is more wasteful than tube masks. This would also make a great gift, paired with the others in the Skin active range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My fave out of 4 Garnier masks so far For some reason I expected there to be grainy bits of activated charcoal ON the sheet mask so I’d have to wash it off manually later! But actually, the serum was clear like any other mask, and can appreciate the lack of a scent which separates it from the other masks I’ve tried. The sheet itself is black thin. You place it on like any other sheet mask, and I find this also well-proportioned, with just a bit of excess that reached past the top of my hairline in the centre. It felt cool on my skin, and after 15-20 minutes I popped it off and slathered the excess on my arms and legs. My skin felt hydrated but not too shiny or greasy. And the rest of the week, my skin felt great and no oily problem either! As a result, I am assuming it’s mattifying claims can be backed up in this instance. Would try this again on sale to see if the effects can be maintained, and maybe I’d buy it for $5 if that is the case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great affordable mask I was lucky enough to try this product. First thoughts are that the packaging is great, it is nice and skim so it is easy to store in places. The label is modern and stands out, I like the idea of Charcoal and black algae as these are quite different. When opening there is a flat mask, this has holes in it for your eyes and mouth. I was skeptical about how this might stay on my skin but upon placement I didn't need to lie down it stayed on. I left mine on for 15min and then removed it slowly as directed. I found that it left my skin very smooth and soft. My pores were smaller and overall my skin was looking much healthier and more vibrant. I have quite oily sensitive skin and I found this really improved my skin feel and also helped improve the oiliness. This is a mask that I would try again and especially for the price it makes excellent value!

This pore-refining Charcoal Tissue Mask from Garnier has a paraben-free formula and is enriched with Black Algae extract, LHA & Hyaluronic acid to purify, refine pores and improve skin texture. Having dry skin, admittedly I was a bit nervous to try this mask as it’s a charcoal based tissue mask. I have used charcoal peel-off masks in the past and undoubtedly they pull out all the impurities from the skin but at the same time it would leave my skin feeling dry & tight. Hence I thought this mask too would aggravate my dry skin but luckily it didn’t. The sheet mask itself is made from charcoal to draw out impurities from pores which make it perfect for those with visibly large pores. This mask adheres to my skin well and perfectly fits the contours of my face. I liked that the serum wasn’t dripping from the mask which made the whole application process easy & comfortable. During use, skin feels cool & refreshed and upon removing the mask after 15-20 mins my skin felt soft and smooth to the touch. This mask works to deeply cleanse the skin of all impurities and reduce the appearance of large pores all while hydrating the skin. The combination of black algae extract and hyaluronic acid helped my skin feel more elastic and pores looked more refined. Overall, being a mask addict I’ve come across loads of masks that claim to do a lot but don’t live up to their claims.However, this charcoal mask from Garnier does what it sets out to do. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to detoxify their skin and help minimize the appearance of large pores and improve overall skin texture. Dry skin types don’t run away from this mask as it can help hydrate your skin as well. A dose of glycerin and hyaluronic acid brings back much-needed moisture. Throw on this mask when your skin needs a tune up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good mask that cleanses throughouly I was invited to trial this mask and I am happy with this product overall. This mask is a black algae sheet infused with charcoal to purify and LHA and hydraluronic to hydrate the skin. The mask also claims to minismie pores and refine texture and moisturise. There wasnt much of a scent which was good. After 15 minutes, my face felt instantly refreshed and moisturised. It's best not to wash off the product after mask removal rather leave it on overnight to get a better result. My face looked better the next day and makeup and skincare products applied smoothly There was minimal wastage of product and that I could use the lefotover product all over my face. For the price, I wouldn't buy and use everyday for $4 but rather those days for a little extra pampering. Overall these masks were alright but not something i'd like to use on an everyday basis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trial Team Review I definitely enjoyed using this mask as it was very easy to use and has a fresh scent to it out of the packaging. The mask itself was heavily soaked in the liquid, which is always a good sign as it means that your skin will be able to absorb as much of the serum as possible. The sheet mask was also sturdy enough that it did not rib or fall apart when I put it in. My skin felt nourished and hydrated immediately after use, and when I rubbed the residue into my skin overnight, my skin felt just as hydrated in the morning. However, I did find that the after scent was a bit strange but it did not linger so it did not bother me too much. Overall, I would say that this mask is a fairly standard/typical mask. It was definitely hydrating and was an enjoyable experience to use. I would recommend this mask for anyone who is curious about charcoal products and is looking for a new mask to try out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft & comfortable mask with a slight smell I was lucky enough to get this Garnier tissue mask to trial from beautyheaven. I didn’t know what to expect from a charcoal mask and was pleasantly surprised. The mask is all black which looks cool actually. The tissue mask itself is thick, soft and very moist with a lot of serum. I loved the way the mask wrapped around my face and sat so easily and comfortably. Most of my face was covered, which is a plus! I have tried many other face masks in the past and many don’t sit well or don’t cover my face properly. Because of how thick and soft this mask was, it felt rather luxurious on my skin. There is a weird scent to this mask which I assume is because of the charcoal. It’s not a strong smell but it does smell a bit funny. It wasn’t much of an issue for me initially when the mask was on, but the smell became stronger after I took it off. This was the only thing I disliked about the mask. My skin felt more refreshed after removing the mask. The next day, my skin felt good. I didn’t have any reaction to the mask. Overall this was a pretty good mask for me except for the smell.
