General Information

Garnier anti-blackhead charcoal peel-off helps peel away blackheads and pore dirt.

Formulated with natural origin charcoal and purifying salicylic acid, this peel off targets blackhead causing impurities such as dirt and sebum and efficiently removes them from your T-zone (nose, forehead and chin)

Proven Efficacy: In just 1 use: pores are visibly unclogged and skin texture is refined, After 4 weeks: Blackheads are visibly reduced, pores appear tightened, less visible. Cautions: In case of discomfort, space out the applications.
Avoid eye and lip contours. in case of contact with eyes, rinse then immediately and thoroughly. Do not apply on irritated skin.

Directions

1. Wash your face thoroughly and pat dry. 2. Apply a generous even layer to the T-Zone (nose, forehead and chin). Wait until completely dry (about 20-30 minutes). 3. Once dry to the touch, gently peel off from the bottom up. Rinse any residue if necessary. Use up to 2 times per week to fight blackheads and shine.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have used this product a handful of times now on my problem areas like my chin and my nose and it has removed only a tiny amount of blackheads. The product is quite goopy and thick, but it actually goes on quite thin once dry. Layering the product is recommended but it will take at least 25 mins to dry - which is not too bad if you're just watching TV or doing some housework. \nIt also has a really strong chemical smell so if you're sensitive to odours this isn't the product for you.\nI would actually recommend this product to remove some dry skin patches on your face, not so much for the removal of blackheads. My skin felt smooth and soft after using. A bonus is that its not excruciating to peel off either.\n

I used it a few times and each time I found it a bit hard to peel off. It didn’t come off smoothly but little pieces making the removal process extensive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i have been using this products for a few weeks. i usually use this mask twice a week. i have noticed that this mask really help with my whiteheads on my nose, but i don't think it is really working for my blackheads. this mask has a cooling sensation that i really like. i will definitely continue using this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is fun product great for self care spa days but ultimately isn't very consistent.  The first time I used the mask it worked great but the other times were disappointments only removing a few blackheads. It is also quite time consuming unlike pore strips it takes a while to dry. It's definitely a try but make sure to prep your skin for optimal results.

The product works in that it takes off the surface layer of blackheads quite well but for deep blackheads it doesn’t really make much difference. Product is drying so I had to slather on some thick moisturizer after using. Probably would not repurchase as there’re better products out there.

Easy to remove, doesn’t feel too harsh on the skin. It’s always a fun time using a peel off mask  It does have a very strong smell which I do not like at all

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was my first time using a peel off mask, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. I have combination to oily skin with a lot of blackheads. The product was easy to apply, and also very easy to remove, and I very much enjoyed the fresh cooling effect that it had on my skin. However, I found very minimal blackhead removal and also it resulted in my skin becoming more oily in the T-zone. Would probably recommend to individuals with perhaps dry to combination skin.

However, it did take longer to dry than expected (approx 30 mins), maybe because I put too much on but I didn't think there was too much. It also wasn't as effective at getting the blackheads out as I would like so I probably wouldn't use this again, but it might work better for people if they have more blackheads/less stubborn blackheads they are trying to target.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Anti-Blackhead Peel-Off is a face mask that comes in a 50ml plastic squeeze tube. The packaging is fairly standard for a drugstore brand. \nThe product comes out as a thin black goo that can be fairly easily spread on the skin--I did find myself having to apply a lot of product to get a good coverage. \nThe instructions say to apply a generous and even layer on the skin and then let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes. I found that it was difficult to get an even layer just using my fingers, so I would recommend using a brush. After about eight minutes, my skin felt as if all the moisture had been sucked out and the mask had completely dried. I think leaving it on for 30 minutes is not a good idea when the weather is warm. It was easy to peel off, but thinner sections required more of a rubbing action. Upon immediate observations, the pores on my nose seemed less noticeable, but that was about it.\nWhen I woke up the next day, I found one large and painful cystic pimple brewing on each side of my nose. I had not experienced that kind of acne in four years and this product was the only change in my skincare routine. \nI continued to use the mask on my chin and T-zone and noticed very little change in the appearance of blackheads and pores. \n\nPros:\n+ No overwhelming scent\n+ fun to peel off if you've applied a thick enough layer\n+ decent immediate results \n+ dries quicker than the box says\n\nCons:\n- hard and messy to apply without a brush\n- one use requires a lot of product if you want to be able to peel it all off\n\n

The thick product is hard to spread evenly and always dries in patches. This mask was hard to place but instantly had this relaxing cooling effect which felt incredible. But it was a 30-minute wait for it to dry…however it peeled off with minimal ease and removed *some* blackheads.It was an okay mask but probably wouldn’t reach for again, maybe it would be better if someone had less stubborn blackheads? \n

So I used a hot steamed towel and apply it around nun noise to help open up the pours and let it dried for a bit then I aplied the product. After it dried I peeled it off and saw A little difference.. the peeling off wasn’t painful though which was good.. but im going to keep using this product and try different methods to see if it works.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak at best I use many clay and detoxifying masks, i usually try and buy more organic/natural skincare products than your general supermarket/ chemist variety. Whilst on holiday i picked up this mask as the only place available to purchase skincare products was the supermarket. I didnt have huge hopes for the product but thought it would at least do a standard job. The mask has a slightly chemical/ perfume smell, its not horrible but isnt fantastic either. The mask itself is a thinner consistency than most others i have used and becomes quite thin once dry which unfortunately causes the mask to tear in strange formations. If you add more of the mask (to make it a bit thicker) it becomes a strange consistency that doesn't dry properly. The mask itself doesn't really feel like it gets into the pores rather than just sit on top of them, to be honest my face felt no different after than before i used the mask. It might be an okay starting point for someone not familiar with masks or still learning how to use them but overall i don't think i'd recommend.

The packaging is easy to use, which I love, but it order to be able to peel the mask off, you need to use a considerable amount of product at a time, which feels a little wasteful. And as some others have stated, the smell isn't exactly pleasant. I notice the mask does remove a small amount of gunk, I think it's mainly just dry skin, but have never had the satisfying blackhead bumps as every one on the ads seem to. I wouldn't repurchase as I don't notice any real difference in my skin after use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn’t meet expectations I’d used similar masks in the past, however, this wasn’t what I’d expected. It took around 20 minutes to peel it off as it came off in tiny patches. I may not have applied it thick enough though. When I did a thicker patch test it took quiet awhile to dry so I thought I’d do a thinner overall mask. I wouldn’t purchase this product again. It wasn’t what I was after.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like pore strips but black I've tried a few of the garnier masks and this one probably was the most disappointing. This mask is slightly thinner than I thought it would be so you do need to make sure to apply it thick so when it dries it is easier to peel off. Because of that you do need to leave it at least 20-30 minutes so it does dry properly. My nose is where most of my black heads are so this is the place I tried first. I find this works very similar to pore strips but not as effective. I didn't find much removal of black heads at all but my skin did feel very nice and soft after removing and washing my face.

It also have a cooling effect when applied and doesn't tug at the skin when it dried and when removed. Whilst this mask is pleasant to use I was disappointed with the results, my skin felt soft and refreshed however I feel like it didn't do much to reduce the appearance of pores or leave them unclogged. While pore strip are unenjoyable in comparison they are more effective.

I found that it applied evenly and it was easy to get a thin layer as suggested on the instructions. I patch-tested it first and had no reaction, and found that this mask removed quite easily and without much irritation/pain. After removal, I couldn't see anything on the strip, but my nose did feel smoother and softer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This was the first peel off mask I have tried and I was not a big fan. The texture was very thick and it took much longer than the indicated 30 minutes to dry. Once dry, it did peel off easily and the skin underneath was very soft. However, I noticed no difference to my blackheads or pores immediately after use or after repeated uses. I would not re purchase this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from From the majority of previous reviews it’s clear to see that the product sits somewhere in the middle ground of performance. You need to apply a thick layer to be able to peel it off, and it is rather messy. The results are nothing great, but then again I’ve never been impressed with any ‘blackhead peel’ that I’ve used. One positive I can give it is that it did not irritate my sensitive skin. But other than that, the product only gets a so-so from me. I’ll use the remainder of this tube, but would not repurchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I used this product a few times over the trial period, I did notice that you have to use a lot of product to apply enough to be able to peel the mask off. I did see that the mask did clean pull out some 'gunk' from my skin not sure if it was blackheads or just excess skin. My skin did feel smoother after use, however I did fine that my skin was definitely red and a bit sore after removing the mask which I was surprised about as I have oily skin and I've never experience sensitivity to skin products before. I think I'll just be sticking to using an exfoliator which gives me the same clean and smooth feeling skin.

I found that after use my skin felt smooth and soft but otherwise really unchanged. I did have to use a lot of product in order to be able to peel it off successfully. I don’t think I’d keep this in my beauty routine but it is fun to use every now and then.

I will stick to using pore strips for when I want to clear out my blackheads. \n

However, in its effectiveness it does leave the skin nice and smooth after, similarly to an exfoliator it seemed to only remove dry skin instead of removing the blackheads.\nIt is also worth a mention that with slightly sensitive skin you will end up with some redness in that area. Overall its okay but i wouldn't re-purchase it again.\n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I’m a bit disappointed in the product, though previous experience with similar products kept my expectations relatively low with hopes I’d be pleasantly surprised. The product size is quite small in comparison to other products which is a good thing in my opinion, however the price tag is a lot more than I would have expected. The smell is a fresh masculine scent which I enjoy though in this product it’s quite strong especially when the product sits around your nose for quite along time so after a small while it wasn’t too pleasant to wear. The mask itself seemed to have zero affect at removing blackheads but did a good job at lifting away dead skin, however the trade off when considering the pain and price isn’t really worth it.
