General Information

DermaVeen Sensitive Relief Eczema Ointment soothes irritation, relieves itch and forms a protective barrier for skin.

DermaVeen Sensitive Relief Eczema Ointment is specifically formulated for mild eczema flare ups and offers symptomatic relief in 3 ways:

1. A glove-like protective shield forms over the skin to lock in moisture.
2. Helps relieve itch and irritation.
3. Moisture binding Colloidal Oatmeal rehydrates skin.

Suitable For: Vegan friendly. Suitable for all skin types including dry, flaky, itchy, cracked skin and skin prone to dermatitis or eczema. For infants, children and adults and for all-over body and face use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great sensitive eczema product that anyone can use. I recently tried the Eczema ointment on both myself and my daughter and found that it worked really well. The product is an ointment which was the main benefit for me, as I know from experience that ointments help to form a barrier to seal the skin; and this ointment definitely didn't disappoint. It glides on smoothly and isn't too thick, so its not sticky or tacky. It doesn't have any fragrance and basically doesn't have any smell so it was perfect to use on my 2 year old. When I tried it my daughter had moderate eczema and it was great - her eczema gets worse when it is scratchy and also when her skin is dry so after using for two days it was great to notice that she wasn't flaring up and that her skin had started to rehydrate.

It's indeed a long journey, I'm satisfied. It's quite good for eczema relief! And a little definitely goes a long way, so the tub is great value, I find. I use it at night because I feel it can look quite oily, but when I wake up, my skin feels really good and soft! Helps a lot with the dryness! I love this ointment for my eczema as the hydrations lasts for hours & it relieves the skin with the colloidal oatmeal. Pro tip: use this ointment as a lip balm, it's so moisturising.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for eczema I used this ointment on my daughter's eczema, she gets it on her elbows and lower back. It is a pale egg white colour and quite greasy. The tub has a screw top lid, which is hard to get back on when your hands are greasy. The tub lasts for years.

A little goes a very long way. I find at first it feels greasy and slippery on first application. when applied to areas of the body. I mainly use this ointment on my hands, elbows and feet at night whilst watching a good movie. After some time the ointment absorbs into the skin leaving a feeling of hydration, healing and water resistance. When applied daily this product works a treat. I purchased this item at half price making it great value for money. I like that it is made in Australia.

I found this to be the only product that would keep my lips from cracking. It has no scent and it's long-lasting. I did have a shiny face when I put it on my chin area, but it was worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ointment Formula In A Tub Called an ointment because it does have an ointment-like consistency. It spreads really easily and so is great for soothing dry skin. There is no scent to this at all. I tiny bit goes a long way and the pot is going to last a long time because of that. This comes is a solidified (it's cold temperature at the moment as it's at the end of Autumn here) but very melty deliciously hydrating formula. I would recommend this for dry skin as a cream-gel but not as an eczema solution just because it did not work for my daughter who suffers persistent eczema when she gets it. She doesn't get it all the time but when she does she gets it on her wrists area and up her arms. So yes this was soothing but not anything more so I can't recommend it as an eczema ointment. It claims to rehydrate and soothe by relieving the itch and that it does. It needs to be applied regularly and so put it on as often as needed. It's designed to be 'sensitive relief' and I suppose it does do that in a minor way. This is probably more a go-between solution rather than a complete be-all and end-all solution.

As a dry skin treatment it would be acceptable, but, for anyone seeking a solution for more than that, I couldn't honestly recommend it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didnt do much for me Out of a moment of desperation having rin out of anything to settle my eczema, I braved this product in the hope of bringing some relief. I am not a big fan of the smell, which smells a bit like water left over from porridge. The instructions say apply to the affected area, but getting the oimtment from the pot often results in way too much for the affected area, and the oimtment getting everywhere else but where it is needed. It does feel quite greasy on application. This is useful for providing protection to already dry skin. It does little to sooth itch or irritation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Meh I don't have eczema but I get very sore dry hands and I bought it to help them overnight because my skin isn't as severe in dryness compare to eczema, so it seemed like a good idea. It's very greasy, which I can cope with but to me, it doesn't feel like it's providing moisture to my skin, rather keeping things from going in or out - I tried layering with other creams but it didn't do much. I wouldn't recommend - they're a better ointment and creams out there. In theory the ingredients sound good but in reality it just doesn't do much of anything.

Unfortunately after using it on her skin for a month now it still hasn’t done anything. It makes her skin super greasy but doesn’t actually soak in and moisturise the skin. Just sits on the surface.
