General Information

The Dura-Comfort 'no boil' dental night guard has been developed to help prevent TMJD and protect teeth from clenching and grinding. The design has two bite pads that comfortably fit between upper and lower molars to re-establish the natural freeway space featuring self-adjusting technology to fit all shapes and sizes of regular to large mouths.

Warnings

The Australian Dental Association recommends toothbrushing should be done twice per day. It should be done in the morning and again at night for two minutes each time. Brushing your teeth at night should be the last thing you do before bed, with no food or drink after brushing. Brushing for two minutes means brushing the teeth in each section of the mouth for approximately 30 seconds.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure I would buy again probably overpriced for the benefit, nearly $60 which is of course massively cheaper that having one made at the dentist but still bulky in your mouth and I personally am unable to leave it in all night. Quite expensive for a small piece of plastic for a 'try out' to help teeth grinding.

I am a very light sleeper and the way this mouth guard fits my teeth, made me not be able to close my mouth. So the sensation of having an open mouth while trying to sleep didn't fit me.

On the nights when it does stay put, it does act as a reminder to stop clenching your teeth. It may work better for people with more of their own teeth!

I decided to try wearing it throughout the day, to get used to it. It just didn’t sit comfortably in my mouth. I tried sleeping with it in but I always end up finding it somewhere in the bed. No good for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the trouble, too bulky for small jaws This I found too bulky and I would wake up during the night because I was fighting myself trying to both keep it in and spit it out. It can only be worn on the lower teeth and I have a small jaw and found the adjustment lacking and the swing motion too much as the front bar would swing and shift in my mouth. I managed to put my jaw out using this and have struggled to eat since. I much prefer the disposable grind guards which cost more long term but I don't notice them in my mouth while sleeping or grind harder because of them.
