In saying this, I needed to make sure my lips were fully prepped before applying the product to avoid flaking. This is a lipstick I would definitely try again.

The applicator was a little large & took some concentration but once I got it on - What a superstar! It outlasted a house move, several rounds of G&Ts and an enormous bowl of nachos. It does dry quite quickly so you can't really take your time applying it- the plus with this though is that it's quick to apply, great if you're in a rush!

I will say hat it does take a while to dry and if you have any lines in your lips it will go a bit strange. I find the best way to apply is keeping your lips stretched out until it dries. It stays quite tacky for about 10 minutes or so but once it’s on then it’s not going anywhere! I really loved how it wasn’t that horrible drying liquid to matte lip formula and it didn’t crumble. It felt incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I am keen to pick up more colours.

The applicator of the liquid lips was a standout for me it’s complairbale to my YSL liquid lip applicator, the applicator made putting on the liquid lip easy and made no need for a lip liner as the top point of the applicator made it a dream to line the lips before filling in. The liquid lip itself has a very pleasant smell to it which is nice, it applied smoothly and highly pigmented. The lipstick took quiet sometime to dry down and once it did was sticky which was good as it didn’t dry out my lips like normal liquid lips tend to do. I applied this in the morning and wore it all day only having to reapply after having a greasy lunch but even then it was only small patches that came off. The colour I had did stain my lips a little bit when it came to taking it off at the end of the day. Overall I’m excited to try the other colours that are avaliable and would recommend this lipstick to other people.

I trialed this lipstick in the color Pioneer - a deep red and being a matte lipstick, the color pay off was a little darker than the packaging. The application process was easy, smooth and easy to apply to all the corners of your lips. I used this lipstick without a lip liner. The lipstick felts tacky to start with but after a few minutes it dries completely and is not heavy on the lips. I have dry lips and through trial and error, a thick layer of this lipstick will really make the dry lips and cracks very visible, so start with a thin layer. I have also tried this with adequate moisturizing and even lip scrubs as a prep but both times it was still very obvious how dry my lips were. Removing this product took effort! It definitely didn't budge with just cleanser and water. I had to use two makeup remover wipes and cleansing oil to really remove all traces of the lipstick and the color, i didn't mind the extra steps to remove it, given how well it lasted on my lips.

Some people may not complement such a bright colour but personally I loved it and how it stands out. \nThe main reason I liked this was because this is one of the few lipsticks I've worn that actually stays on for quite a long time even when you eat! (But it's also is not easy to take off). I literally just want to wear it all the time! \nAlso, because my lips are somewhat dry, it wasn't too easy to apply and it did appear cracked, so I would recommend moist lips beforehand (e.g. lipbalm). \n\nPretty good value for money!\n

I tried a dark pigmented one, and there was a bit of "colour bunching" (if that's the technical term ;) ) but nothing that wasn't fixed after spending a little more time spreading it out. The colour was glorious and didn't bleed or get everywhere like some of my other lipsticks. Absolutely recommend, and will continue to wear for a long time. :)

Leaves a stain on the lips till the next day. The color was a perfect match for my skin tone. The coverage was good and finish was matte . I would not wear it pretty often as its stains my lips but would recomment the shade.

Not long lasting on lips but be careful applying as it does stain surrounding skin. Do not do a test patch on ur hand it takes ages to come off.\n

I have the colour Heroine, it is a beautiful vibrant pink and really provides a pop of colour. \n\nFirst impression when opening it is the colour then the lovely smell. At first I did struggle with getting an even coverage on the lips, due to initial stickiness of the formula, it can lift and clump together if you reapply over the same area. Best to get a liberal amount on the applicator and apply in one stroke. \n\nThe applicator is different to most as it has a gap in the middle allowing for the more product on the applicator to more coverage in the middle of your lips. After it dries on the lips about 30 seconds it feel really good the colour is still as vibrant as when it comes out of the tube, it doesn’t dry out your lips and is doesn’t feel heavy on.\n\nIt can take on a a few meals, I wore it daily to work so usually breakfast of cereal or toast and coffee around after lunch I found it tended to start coming off on in inside if my lips first leaving a uneven pink outline, if I applied it on for just the evening and i went out for dinner it wouldn't budge and this is after enjoying a burger.\n\nAnything that doesn’t come off due to food and drink will last all day and night. Over all it a good product but I would recommend it, just keep an eye on your lips after you have eaten and give yourself a touch up to keep the even coverage. \n

The colour on my lips is definitely super bright and I can see I can build on even more colour if I wanted to.\n\nThe colour is definitely suited for going out including parties but not for my everyday.\n\nThe colour does rub off a little and my lips feel a little dry so I apply on lip balm to fix that.\n\nThe colour lasts for a long time.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Georgina B. from I have a slight obsession with matte liquid lipsticks and am always very keen to try a new one. I am happy to say that this one was really great!\n\nI tested shade 35 Creator which is a very bright purple. This is not my usual shade but surprisingly I actually really liked the colour and it suited me well. It definitely wouldn't be a colour for everyone though but they seem to have a decent shade range so there is likely one for everyone.\n\nThe packaging is quite nice, simple but pretty, with the tube being the colour of the lipstick shade you have chosen. The applicator is really nice and allows for a very smooth, even application. \n\nThe formula for this is very thick, and I suppose 'inky' as the title says. I would recommend very careful application as it is very hard to fix one it has been applied. The coverage was really good, one coat was enough and I had no patchiness at all. This was impressive as purples are usually a very hard formula to get right and patchiness is the norm, so I was very happy that this was different. When you first apply a coat it feels very sticky for a good 5 minutes after. This is due to it taking a while to completely dry, likely due to the thickness of the formula. I would try to avoid rubbing your lips together whilst it still feels sticky as it can still transfer a bit during this time. When you no longer feel the stickiness it ends up feeling very light, especially for a matte lipstick. Usually these can be very drying but I found it was comfortable to wear even after a few hours. \n\nOnce you have applied though, it is not likely to budge anytime soon. I can honestly say I would struggle to think of another similar product which lasts this long whilst still feeling comfortable to wear. I really tried getting it to budge throughout the evening, eating oily, spicy noodle soup, having several drinks and still nothing. It maybe came off around the very inner part of the lips but it still looked like I had only just applied it. It definitely has the staying power to last through a long day or night and shouldn't need reapplying even after eating. Though should you need to apply another coat, as long as you wait until it is completely dry first, a second coat applied smoothly with no problems. \n\nWhilst the staying power is great throughout the day, it does mean that it is very tricky to get off when you want it off. Oil based products which I would usually use to remove similar lip products have little effect as does a makeup wipe. I had to use a combination as well as a lip scrub to get it to budge and even then there was still some light staining, though this tended to be gone by the next day (and was likely due to the bright purple shade).\n\nOverall, I genuinely do like this product and will be purchasing a couple of more wearable shades to try as well. The comfortable feel and the staying power really sell this to me as it would be great to wear throughout a work day or during a night out. I would definitely recommend checking this out if you like matte liquid lipsticks, but don't want one that is too drying. \n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dyan from I have been wearing this liquid lipstick consistently for the last few weeks. I have it in the shade number 05 'Loyalist', I initially thought this would be a pinky nude colour which is my favourite kind of shade but it definitely pulls a bit more light pink than nude and I felt that it did not suite my skintone (medium with yellow undertone), in saying that though it is a beautiful colour and perfect for the summer! The product was quite thick and creamy to apply. I would say that it is not as drying as other matte liquid lipstick formulas, I found it comfortable to apply and comfortable to wear throughout the day/night. On application it feels quite sticky like a gloss, but despite that I did the transfer test and it was definitely transfer proof! Although it did dry a bit more the longer I wore it there was still that slightly tacky feeling on my lips. What I did not like about this product however was on days that I had dry flaky lips, I felt this accentuated it a bit more, in saying that though it may have been the colour itself that did that. This liquid lipstick definitely lasted long! I work 12 hour shifts and did not feel the need to reapply. I would recommend this product for those ladies who likes the look of a matte lip without the "suck-your-lips-dry" feeling, I would also recommend it to those who have no time to constantly touch up their make up and reapply their lipstick during the day but would still like to look human by the time they get out of work because 2 words - 1. staying 2. power!\n

As I don't wear lippy often, I struggled to apply this with the shape of the applicator. I found a small amount that was not within the lip line was EXTREMELY hard to budge- but for the pros who can apply this well, the staying power would be a bonus! The matte finish was something you would have to get used to- I'm not sure it is a trend that will stick around for generations to come. I applied a little gloss from another product to give it a little lift. Overall, the product does what it claims to- it has an INTENSE colour, has a soft matte finish, and has SUPER STAYING properties! I'll be purchasing the nude version of this in the future!

It was my first time wearing this style of lipstick and I was very impressed, as were my friends. \nIt survived the duration of a few girls nights out with out any reapplying. I was worried it would be hard to remove, however my make up wipes did the job.\n\nApplication was easy and fuss free. I actually think the wand is fine as it is, the shape of it was well suited for my lips.\nThe product applies glossy and sets to matte and takes a few minutes to dry. \nI expected it to dry out my lips but it didn't. \n\nThis product is excellent value for money.\n\n

It has a smooth, creamy consistency that glides on so easily. It has great colour pay off with one swipe without being thick, gluggy and sticky. \n\nThe longevity of this lipstick is also a plus! For someone who doesn't wear a lot of lipstick purely because I'm too lazy to reapply, this formula is fantastic. It withstands meals and drinks without any problems. \n\nI tried the colour 05 Loyalist. It wasn't the right color for me my skin tone, even though it looked great on my hand but I am super keen to try some of the other color options!\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Monique B. from I tried this product through BeautyCrew's Review Crew. The shade I tested was #35 'Creator' which is a VERY vibrant purple colour. Unfortunately, I really didn't suit this shade. It clashed majorly with my red hair and it's not a colour I would ever choose for myself.\nAll that aside, the quality of the formula is very high. The product is called 'SuperStay Matte Ink' and that is most definately what it delivers. I struggled to remove it even with makeup remover after a full day of wear! It has a perfect matte finish too. Word of warning though..... make sure to let it dry completely before applying more coats, otherwise you'll be left with clumpy, sticky lips. Personally, I find Matte Lipsticks dry my lips out terribly, so I would also suggest applying a light coat of lipbalm before using this lip ink.\nOverall, this product does deliver what it promises. I'd be interested to try it out in a colour that suits me better. I'd recommend this product to anyone who loves matte lips and/or enjoys lip products with super staying power.\n\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Amy G. from There are some things I loved about this product and a few things not so much. Firstly, who doesn't love a long lasting lippy that is super easy to apply?!? Apply on your way to work and do not have to think about it. I found for me though that I would end up with almost just the lining remaining after a shorter than expected amount of time, so reapplied more often than i would have expected. For me, the Heroine colour (number 25) is a mix between orange, red and pink, although from the packaging you would be expecting more of a red, so just be careful what you wear with it. Also be sure to let the first layer completely dry before applying a second coat as it can be too thick but one layer is not enough. Only 4 stars as i did expect the colour to last longer than it did. Easy application gets a 5 of 5 though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Linda X. from The colour that I chose (Lover, which turned out to be a light and bright bubblegum pink) didn't end up being flattering for my skin tone but I otherwise really loved this lipstick! The colour is highly pigmented and stayed on all day. No matter what I did, it didn't budge at all! The cupid's arrow applicator also helped me achieve the right amount of lipstick on my lips and with precision. The first time I used it, I found it surprisingly sticky but once I gave the formula some time to dry, it became a lovely matte colour.\n\nThere is also a very intense scent that reminds me of vanilla cake frosting but it disappears when you apply the lipstick. \n\nAlso a tip for removing it from your lips: I find oil-based cleansers work the best.\n

I often forget to wear (or don't have time to apply) lipstick every day, but it's one of my biggest make up vices, and finding a great lipstick is such a mood-lifter.\nI was impressed with the shade being true to the packaging (although I can't remember the name of the shade I trialed), and the applicator is nice, with the pointed end allowing precise application, and not needing to use liner to get a clean line is one of the perks of liquid lipstick. The product applied well, and is very pigmented.\nIt does take longer than my favourite liquid lipsticks to dry, as it felt tacky for 10+ minutes after applying even a thin layer, however saying that it did stand up very well to me going out for lunch and drinks.\nMy only complaint is how difficult it is to remove; even with an oil cleanser it was noticeably much harder to remove than most of the other liquid lipsticks I regularly use.\n

I used this alone and over a bit of lip balm to smooth out on drier days. Coconut oil would not remove this alone with 2 coats! Make sure you wait for your coats to dry before applying another to avoid smudging buildup!\n\nPros \n-Amazing wand that makes application so much easier!\n-Stays on for a night out with sweating/eating/drinking!\n-Colour comes out the same on lips as does with swatch!\nThe real hero is the wand and pigment power!\n\nCons \n-Dries too quickly if you don't line lips first and boo boo!\n-Can make lips look drier!\n-Formula feels like it can be hard to spread at times especially to touch up!\n\nOverall great product! You can even apply it lightly with some balm to make a long lasting stain if you want to change it up!\n

Because my lips are quite red, lipsticks often appear too pink because the formula is too sheer, so it’s awesome to find a shade that actually appears and applies in the shade I pick. This product goes on smoothly and if by far the most comfortable long-wear lipstick I have worn. But it isn’t a lipstick that can be applied without looking in a mirror. It can appear a bit patchy, so extra care when applying is needed. It smudges quite easily when wet which wouldn’t be that bad if it was easy to remove. Even a little smudge while wet needs proper makeup remover (with oil) which is frustrating if trying to do a quick touch up. But overall I would recommend and will personally be repurchasing in other shades! The comfortability far outweighs the extra effort needed for application.

Rated 4 out of 5 by arisha a. from Love the maybelline New York superstay matte ink. It does exactly what it says; lasts a very long time. I loved it, so easy to apply especially with the wands unique shape. It was easy to line the lips with it then just fill them in. Comes in 10 shades; love all of them!! The matte lipgloss has a very intense colour. After I would use it, I would apply a bit of lipbalm as I found the lipgloss to be a bit dry. Very affordable and it's a long tube so it'll most likely last a very long time. What's great is that you won't have to touch up... It's matte. Would recommend it for people who are looking for a variety of shades and long lasting lipgloss.

The formula is inky, as the name suggests, the application is somewhat tricky as it's quite sticky and it takes time to get even coverage. Once on the lips it stays sticky for a while before drying, and in case you're tempted - DO NOT rub your lips together, it will ruin your hard work. Once completely dry, there's little to no transfer of colour. However, it does not survive a make-out sesh, I left my boyfriend red-faced, literally.\n\nBut holy cow - they staying power of this lipstick is intense. After wearing it for 10 hours, eating two meals, drinking several cups of coffee and working out it was still on. There was minimal loss of colour on the inner side of the lips. I then jumped into the shower, washed my makeup off and used a face scrub as per usual. But when I jumped out, much to my horror, the lipstick hadn't budged. So I use a makeup remover wipe, it removes a little, I then use a lip scrub, it removes a little. I grab out my cleanser again, it removes some more, and then finally my face scrub again which removes most of what was remaining. I even had pink-tinged lips the next day. \n\nI have liquid lipsticks that feel better on, but I have never seen one with this kind of staying power, so for that I will give it 4/5 stars.\n
