Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi-purpose conditioner with great results I bought the Repairing Papaya Skin Food for three reasons: it promises to repair damaged hair, it's multi-purpose, and it has pretty good reviews here :) The product is thick, creamy, and smells strongly of papaya. It comes in a 390 ml tub, which I originally thought was pretty big, but the way I've been using it, it might not last as long as I thought it would. Especially because it's not that easy to scoop out just a little bit of product from the tub. Using it as a conditioner: It's super easy and quick, so I do this when I don't have too much time. I apply a generous amount for soft hair. Using it as a hair-mask: I have to do this after using a shampoo and a conditioner, so it takes a bit more time, but then my hair is soft and smooth for days, so it;s totally worth it. Using it as a leave-in conditioner: honestly, when I opened the tub, and saw the thick, creamy consistency, I had no idea how this would work as a leave-in conditioner without making my hair greasy and messy, but it does. I only applied a tiny amount of product on the ends, and to my surprise, the result was smooth, not greasy hair. I have wavy hair, and when I apply it as mask or as a leave-in conditioner I find that it weighs down my hair a little bit so that the waves disappear for a few hours after using it, but then they come back. It's strange. But no matter if I use it as a conditioner, mask or leave-in conditioner, the result is always soft, smooth, and non-frizzy hair that is super easy to comb and smells of papaya for a few hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap, smells incredible and works magic on your hair I am in an eternal struggle to find the best hair mask for my hair – and this is definitely up there! I was a bit sceptical because of the price but was recommended it by a friend and I’m so glad I bought it! The tub is huge and you get heaps of product for how little it costs. The papaya smell is incredible and leaves your hair smelling fruity for days afterwards, but the best thing about this product is how versatile it is – you can use it as a conditioner or leave it on longer as a mask – both of which are super efficient. I have long, fine, colour damaged hair that can tend towards being dry and frizzy, especially in winter, and whether I use this as a mask or as a conditioner it makes a huge difference towards leaving my hair silky, shiny and looking healthy. It’s cheap, it’s effective and it smells great – cannot recommend enough!

The smell is beautiful & actaully stays in the hair for days after using it. I washed my hair with shampoo and left the product in for around 10 minutes before washing it out with cold water. My hair is now soft, smooth and smells sweet! highly recommend :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing smelling multi purpose conditioner I have tried all four hair food varieties. This is my favourite. It smells like a tropical vacation or a delicious fruit smoothie. It is not too heavy or too light. It can be used as conditioner, mask or leave in and it’s great as all three. It has beautiful natural ingredients and is very affordable. Look for it on sale at the supermarket or pharmacy, it’s often half price, and I love to stock up on it. It’s one of those products I’ll keep coming back to.

It smells like holidays and happiness and I just cannot get enough. They need to come out with a body product that smells like this! Secondly, i love how multi purpose this is. I usually use this as a conditioner or leave in moisturiser, I don’t have time for a treatment, but it really does leave my hair feeling beautiful and soft. And the smell lingers all day too, its just divine!

First of all, I love that this is a multi-use product; you can use it as a normal conditioner, as a mask, or a leave-in. So far I've used it as a conditioner and a leave-in. I prefer this as a leave-in, and in the morning my hair is so soft; I can tell that this is definitely repairing and nourishing my hair. I straighten my hair often and have bleached highlights, so I noticed that my hair looks rather frazzled after straightening. But after using the leave in the last two nights I noticed that my hair was smooth and soft even after straightening. For $12 you get heaps of product, and a little bit goes a long way. To boot, it smells so yummy and like real papaya, not an artificial fruit scent. This has definitely become a new staple for me and I will keep repurchasing!

I use it as a conditioner then lightly rinse, followed by applying it into soaking wet hair. I don't towel dry it either, instead I use an old tee shirt & tie it up. Once removed my hair is obviously still wet but not dripping. My hair dries naturally. Soft & not coarse. The product has a lovely scent as well. Truly food for hair.

I could tell from the first application that this was a winner. I like that you can use it different ways - deep conditioning, mask or leave-in conditioner. I used it as a mask and it worked so well. I have naturally curly hair and in winter it becomes dry but this mask helps so well, without weighing down the curls.

I was pleased to see that it was 98% natural, I was also happy that there was no silicones or parabens. It comes in a 390ml tub, I thought this was great value because you get quite a lot of product for a reasonable price. It says that you can used it as a conditioner, mask, and leave in. I recommend using it as a mask or conditioner because I found it worked best that way. One of my favourite parts of this mask is the smell, it also comes in macadamia, goji, banana. I put this on after using their shampoo and conditioner and left it for a few minutes. When I washed it if I noticed that my hair felt smoother already. I noticed throughout the day my hear felt softer and looked smoother. I will be continuing to use this product after the trail, thanks to beauty heaven for sending me this.

I loved that the product was so friendly to the environment and healthy for me. This is definitely perfect for someone who is trying to be more conscious of the chemicals they are using in their everyday lives. This hair food treatment was perfect because it didn't require sitting around for ages waiting for it to work. The instructions say to wait a minute which was perfect to add to my daily routine effortlessly. I also love that you can use it on dry hair, but I have yet to try this - I really favour using it after conditioning my hair. Overall this product was definitely something that I will continue using as it works so nicely in my routine and my hair was so soft and nice following only one use. Would definitely recommend!

I have relatively long hair, down to mid back, and it has been through all manner of mistreatment from box dye to bleaching repeatedly (I like my bright colours) and now that I have stopped doing all this I noticed just how bad my hair condition was. When I got the chance to use this I was very excited at the prospect that it might help my hair. It's a big size tub which is easy to open in the shower (and also very handy when you have wet hands) and the first thing I noticed was the smell. It's so fresh and fruity that it makes you feel like a tropical holiday is happening, and I'd never say no to that. It's easy to use and I like that you can use it based on what you need, conditioner, mask or leave in treatment, then you can change it up each time you use it to best suit the time you have free and also the level of love and repair your hair needs. After just one use my hair already looked healthier and my split ends looked much smoother, and the results just improve after each use. Overall I am very happy with this product and I will keep using it as a hair mask because the results are worth it.

I have dry damaged hair and this moisturised my hair leaving it feeling smooth, silky and soft. I used it in conjunction with the Garnier Fructis Repair 3 Shampoo and Conditioner with such brilliant results. My hair looks glossy and much healthier. The tub is very attractive and large which provides plenty of product to use. It smells absolutely divine. It works quickly and I can rinse it out without needing to use extra water. I haven’t needed to use a leave in conditioner since starting to use this hair mask. I’d highly recommend this to those that colour their hair and use hair styling tools regularly as it really nourishes hair and enables easy styling. I found using the matching conditioner very moisturising, so with the hair mask I only used a bare amount and it was sufficient, so I’d recommend using less than more. I’m looking forward to my new hair treatment regime as I’m really thrilled with the results this last week.

First of all, the smell is absolutely amazing and I love the fact that its all natural with no silicones or parabens that can leave your hair feeling weighed down. I blow dry and straighten my hair fairly regularly so the ends do get quite dry. I've been using this ask a mask, leaving it in for a couple of minutes and focusing on the middle to ends of my hair about 2-3 times. I've noticed that my ends look feel a lot healthier that before. It also helps to make my hair look smoother and less frizzy when I dry it after without feeling weighed down. A little goes a long way and the tub is huge so its definitely good value. If you've got bleached or damaged hair with a lot of split ends this product is definitely worth trying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this product I received this product for review, and really loved it! It was surprising to me what a super versatile product this was! The instructions stated that it can be used in 3 different ways: 1. A standard conditioner, where you use it after shampooing and leave it in your hair for as long as you need (for me, I generally leave conditioner in for 3-4 minutes). 2. A hair Mask - I would recommend wetting your hair and applying a generous amount. When I used it this product as a mask, I left it in for 10-15 mins (I use a shower cap over the treatment when I'm in the shower so that I don't accidentally rinse it out). 3. A leave in treatment, where you apply a small amount to the ends of your hair after shower (or can be applied to dry hair). My favourite way to use the Papaya hair food was as a hair mask. I generally apply a hair mask every 1-2 weeks as my hair is thick, but dry and brittle. I absolutely loved this product, because after I rinsed it out, my hair looked healthier, but wasn't super silky and smooth, which is usually due to silicones in other hair products. I believe it is because the product is 98% natural. Over the last few applications, I really noticed a change in my hair and couldn't be happier with the results. In terms of packaging, the Papaya Hair Food comes in a large, twist top jar, which works well if you use it as a mask or leave-in conditioner. The product itself has a very thick consistency and holds well in your hair (when I applied it as a hair mask outside of the shower, I was able to twist my hair into a bun and my hair was able to stay in this position for the entire treatment time). However, if you plan to only use this as a normal conditioner, I would recommend that you decant it into a squeeze-y bottle, as the twist jar is hard to manage in the shower and you don't want water to get in and dilute the product over time. The one thing I loved most about this product was the scent! It was heavenly! Even if the product wasn't effective, I would probably repurchase based on smell alone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best smelling hair product ever I have been super fortunate to be part of the GARNIER FRUCTIS REPAIRING PAPAYA HAIR FOOD but also lucky to receive the entire range to include their shampoo and regular conditioner which I decided to go all in and use all three for the review. The first thing I noticed was the bright orange packaging to reflect the use of papaya and boy do you smell it! The scent for me was heavenly but I can see how it may be overwhelming for others who may be sensitive to smell. It does have a super papaya scent which I did not mind. The formula is creamy and stays put (without dripping all over the place) and makes it super easy to use as a mask without the mess. It is surprising to see that 96% of the formula is natural but it leaves the hair soft and smooth (you can really see and feel the difference) and my friends and family noticed my bleached hair more healthier than before. My hair is more manageable with less tangles so it makes hair washing days less stressful. I colour my hair with temporary colours often and noticed the colour washed out slightly faster than usual which I found as a little con, but nothing worth removing a star for!

The first thing you would notice is the packaging which is classic garnier, bright and colourful. The second is the amazing smell of the hair food, it’s so good I could eat it! I have very weird hair, my scalp is very oily and I normally have to wash my hair every day or two, the ends of my hair are the opposite being very dry and frizzy. I have really struggled to find something that works well for me. Using both the garnier shampoo and conditioner before hand and then applying the hair food after and letting it sit for a minute then washing it out not only made my hair smell amazing and feel amazing but once it dried there were no frizzy ends and my scalp felt very clean. I did this before going out one night and normally after a night out my hair gets very oily, the next day was mother’s Day and my hair looked and felt as good as it did when I first washed it. I like using this in the ends of my hair before heading out if I don’t have chance to wash it plus it smells great so it’s basically applying perfume. My favourite use is as conditioner or using it as a mask and leaving it in for a few minutes.
