I wouldn’t recommend using it as a conditioner or mask as it works like a regular conditioner, but is fabulous to leave-in and reduce frizz and dryness. Worth the sale price!

This is the best and most affordable conditioning product i’ve ever used on my hair! Absolutely AMAZING for detangling and restoring life to my thirsty hair. I’m on my 2nd jar already since my husband shares it with me. I’ve recommended to my family, friends and strangers too!

I have used both the macadamia and the papaya varieties of the hair food range and have found both make my hair feel softer and more managable. I find that the papaya one helps with the frizziness and fly aways that I usually experience, it also makes my split ends less noticable for a few days after I use it. Both varieties that I have used smell amazing and leave my hair smelling great too.

For years I've struggled with my hair, moving from one product to the other, looking for something to help me manage my frizzy, unruly, dry thick hair, and now I finally found one. First of all, the packaging is awesome! It practically looks like a container of fruit sorbet. But putting the packaging aside, the product itself is really good and the fact that it can be used in three different ways is a huge bonus! I've already used it as a conditioner and a mask and it worked wonders in both ways. I've yet to try it as a leave on treatment, as I'm not a big fan of having any kind of lotion in my hair as I don't like the greasy feeling of it. The day after I used it, my hair was extremely soft, tamed and had the most lovely natural glow. I love the way my hair feels after I use it, I can't stop passing my hands through it. Oh, and it leaves such a pleasant smell for at least two days. The only downside I found is that I find it a bit difficult to wash all the product out of my hair and even when I think I've washed it all I would still find a bit left in my hair.

I love the smell of it, it is kind of fruity but not overpowering. The product comes in a large tub and it is very easy to use. I used it after washing my hair, I only apply it to my mid lengths and ends and leave it on for few minutes before rinsing it. My hair was so hydrated after using it and so easy to comb. It made my hair so smooth and shiny. I also found that this hair food nourished my hair without weighing it down. The product will last me for at least 2 months as i am washing my hair only twice a week. Also, I love the fact that the Garnier Fructis Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food formula is 98% natural in origin. I would definitely recommend this hair food to my friends and family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, natural and effective hair conditioner I was excited to trial the Garnier Fructis Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food as it is targeted towards those with dry and unruly hair - and this is exactly what I have most days! My hair is usually dry from frequent use of heat styling tools, and unruly given I have naturally thick, wavy hair. The Garnier Hair Food comes packaged in a generous 390ml tub with a twist top lid which is convenient to use both in and out of the shower. On opening the product, the first thing that hits me is its incredible coconut scent. The product really does smell good enough to eat! The product has 98% natural ingredients which is great because it has no nasties in it, and importantly to me, it has no silicones which can coat my hair and weigh it down. I like that the product can be used in three ways: as a regular conditioner, as a mask, or as a leave-in conditioner. The versatility of the product is fantastic. I have used the product in all three ways, and have been impressed each time. As a conditioner and mask, the product distributes easily throughout the mid-lengths and ends of my hair, soaks into the hair well, and rinses out easily without leaving any residue. Once used, my hair is left feeling noticeably smoother, softer and detangled - much more so than a regular conditioner. The product leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy, and most importantly my hair is so much easier to manage. The scent lightly lingers on my hair throughout the day which I enjoy - I received a number of compliments on it. As a leave-in conditioner, I apply the product and leave it in my hair for as many hours as possible before I wash it out that night. I get the best results out of the product using the Hair Food this way. My hair is left feeling very hydrated, nourished, and I notice a positive difference in the amount of flyaways I have the next day. My split ends are also less noticeable, given the conditioner helps smooth my strands. Overall, a fantastic, natural-based, versatile hair conditioner which is a great alternative to other products on the market. I will continue using this product moving forward.

It doesn't smell artificial or overpowering. I also love the tub packaging , it's easy to use and store. My hair is pretty fine and some masks and conditioners can tend to weigh it down, but this masks helps to leave my hair soft, silky and lightweight. I've also used this as a leave in conditioner, after washing my hair, and it still works great, but I use significantly less. This mask is great at de-tangling your hair and leaving it hydrated and silky. The consistency of this mask is thick, yet not heavy that it leaves your hair with noticeable buildup. It also makes your hair look so much shinier and smoother if you plan to style and straighten it. This is something I would definitely be repurchasing. I've also used this as a conditioner and it works great this way too.

What I was most attracted to about this product is the ingredients, I like to stay away from sulfates and silicones on my curly hair so this product really stood out to me. Not only that, but the product itself can be used as a hair mask, conditioner and leave in treatment....did I mention I adore multitasking products? The product comes in a large tub and could last you a good month or so depending on how much and how often it is used. I tend to use a dollop sized amount on my hair and I haven't even begin to dig into the tub yet so that's a plus. The scent is absolutely gorgeous, it's kind of fruity but not overpowering. The product has really great slip as well, which makes it a lot easier for me to detangle my hair in the shower and it stays detangled for longer if I use the product as a leave in. When I stepped out of the shower, my curls were defined, hydrated and my hair looked and felt healthier. This product has become a staple in my hair routine. 10/10!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So nourishing for the price! Very impressed with the smell This product comes from a beautiful line of affordable, nourishing, beautifully smelling hair products. I like how large the tub is, definitely economical for the price and quantity. My hair is very long, coloured and keratin treated so I have to be careful when I use masques that it’s not going to weigh down my hair. I was so impressed with how little I needed to nourish my hair and I think this is why it didn’t weigh my hair down in the process. For very fine hair I would use a tiny bit. You don’t need to masque the mid length too much the end will suffice for finer hair. When you massage the hair through before rinsing, that’s where you can add some quick nourishment to those parts of the hair without making them greasy. So after rinsing and blow drying my hair with a tad of macadamia oil, I I as really impressed with how soft my hair was. Smell is great and refreshing. I will repurchase. Love this as a part of the already reliable garnier hair masques

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superfood for my hair! I thoroughly enjoyed using this product from Fructis. It is a beautiful lightweight mask that has left my hair feeling so nourished and healthy. I can see a definite improvement in my ends and they don't feel weighed down at all. I have used this mask twice weekly since I received it and really enjoyed the experience. I love the HUGE tub it comes in and I just leave it on my bathroom counter which is right beside my shower so I can grab it and that way it doesn't get wet. I only apply it to my mid lengths and ends so that I don't make my roots oily. It is lovely smelling mask and feels really nice when I run it through my hair. I also comb it through so that it is evenly applied. The result is healthy looking and softer hair. Would recommend to my friends and family. Thanks bh and Fructis!

Secondly, the fragrance was so beautiful for such a natural product that after use leaves your bathroom smelling divine. So divine that other members of my household asked if they could try the product and loved it too. Thirdly, the most important thing. How it made my how feel. I applied it after shampoo and conditioner as a mask. I left it in for 3 minutes. It was so incredibly hydrating to my hair and people were quick to comment that my hair looked soft and shiny and thats how it felt. It made me feel so impressed by how silky and smooth my hair felt after washing it out. I cant wait to continue to use this product and I am definitely going to replace it when it runs out but a little goes a long way so it might be a while! Thank you beautyheaven and Garnier for allowing me to try this great product. I already looked up where I can buy it from and what other scents are available.

It's packaged in a tub which is quite nicely designed however I'm just not a fan of dipping my hand into a product. Would rather a squeeze tub, but I guess this ensures there is no product wastage. I loved how it listed out all the natural ingredients on the side. You can use this hair food three ways, however I must admit I only trialed this as a hair mask. So after using my normal shampoo & conditioner, I applied this to my mid-lengths and ends of my hair and left on for a few minutes. It was nice to apply and stuck to my hair. Was luxurious and thick. Felt like a super high end product. After rinsing out, I blow-dried by hair as normal. The results were pretty great. My hair felt super smooth and hydrated. Wasn't weighed down in any way. I actually couldn't stop touching my hair. The next day my hair was super soft as well which was a nice surprise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My current Favourite I was so thrilled to trial the Fructis Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food since I've heard so many good things about it. I believe this is the THE product of the season because everyone seems to love it. Let's talk about the packaging. I was amazed to discover how colourful, funky and pretty the packaging is and it surely makes it very attractive. It is the kind of packaging that makes you want to buy it without even know the utilities. Good marketing process Fructis! :) And then, there is the scent! .....The mask smells so yummy, so delicious, so sweet and nutty and it is totally the kind of scents that I like. The texture is smooth to the touch and quite milky as well which makes application very easy. I used this product as a mask in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner of the range Fructis Nutri Repair 3 and it does so much good to my unruly hair. Once rinsed, I can feel that my hair is smoother but the results is more noticeable when I straighten my hair as it is sleek, frizz free, soft, easy to manage, healthier and smells so nice. I'm so happy about the results that I would definitely repurchase this product . However, I would have love if there was a travel size version of this product which would certainly be suitable for travel. Overall, it is a great product and I recommend it for frizzy and unruly hair.

My hair health at the moment is coloured and has quite dry ends at the moment due previously bleaching my hair and due to long-term traveling causing me to not look after my hair as I should. My first impression is that the tub looks a little like a tub of yogurt, I think due to the white body and orange label, and that provides a generous amount at 390ml. The packaging itself is a plastic tub, with a screw on lid. I found that even in the shower with my hands wet I was able to undo the lid easily. Garnier has provided a lot of information on the packaging, the most impressive is that 98% of the ingredients are of natural origin, but the word origin throws in some ambiguity for me. Opening the product for the first time you can tell, there is no intense chemical smell to it, there are perfumes added to this, the smell reminds me of macadamia butter moisturiser, and has a sweetness to it., it is a pretty intense smell but that would be due to the additives. What I love about this hair mask is that you can use it three different ways, as a conditioner, as a mask, and as a leave it in treatment. I prefer using this as a mask or leave it in treatment, I found my hair felt more nourished using these methods and I prefer using my usual conditioner. The colour is a light brown and has a thick consistency, I found scooping a large strawberry sized amount was enough to cover my hair (waist-length) when applying it as a mask, although it is thick it is extremely easy to distribute throughout my hair. Applying it as a conditioner I used a small strawberry amount and again even less for a leave-in conditioner. I tested this on both dry and damp hair, on dry hair it at first gives a feeling of "dampness" when first applied but after thirty seconds to a minute it socked in completely, instantly giving my hair ends a boost of moisture. Also leaves the hair smelling lovely which is an added bonus! For leave in conditioner I really just focused on my ends instead of the length of my hair as well, as I usually add this one my 2nd or 3rd day. A lot of conditioners can make my hair go oily and greasy the next day at the roots (even though I only apply to the mid-lengths and ends), with this mask it softens and nourishes my ends but doesn't affect my roots. I am using this product about every 3rd wash after the trial, and using as a leave-in conditioner on days my hair needs some extra love. I'm finding the health of my hair is improving, less fly-aways and has slowly become less prone to knots (A major issue for my length of hair). I also love how it feels after using it as a leave-in conditioner it is just so soft to touch! I would recommend this to others and would purchase again, it is a good price and the fact that it works without making my hair go greasy is fantastic.

It looks so funky in my bathroom, especially compared to other boringly packaged products. The mask itself is SO delicious! Well, I haven't tasted it, but it looks/smells/feels absolutely scrumptious, so much so that I'd recommend keeping it out of reach of children lol. I find, compared to other hair masks, that I need to use less than I normally need to fully coat all of my hair as the formula is so smooth and buttery. I like this because it means better value for money! I followed the instructions exactly, and then rinsed it out, and let my hair air-dry as usual....wow! So usually at this stage my hair looks like the classic "before" photo from a frizzy hair ad campaign. But now, when I saw myself in the mirror with my hair fully dried, I was pleasantly shocked! It wasn't the regular frizzy fried mess that makes me look like I stuck a knife in the toaster. My hair looked normal. It looked like 'second day hair' for me which is much more tamed and smooth, but it smelt and felt like brand new clean hair. I have used hair masks that cost 5 times the price of Garnier's hair food that didn't give me anything close to the results I've got from this one. I've now been using it twice a week for 2 weeks and I swear my hair feels healthier. It definitely looks healthier. I will 100% be repurchasing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely intense conditioning The Garnier Fructis Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food comes in a generous 390ml tub with a simple peachy orange design and brown lid. The design reminds me of The Body Shop products. The product claims to intensely moisterise and smooth dry and unruly hair, making it soft and healthy without weighing it down. This hair product has many appealing qualities including being 98% natural origin containing various vegetable oils including macadamia seed, soya, sunflower seed, jojoba, almond and coconut oils, and is free of silicones, parabens and artificial colourants. This intense conditioner has a lovely macadamia/fruity scent that's very nice and is a light peachy/cream colour. The texture/consistency of this mask is silky smooth, creamy and buttery whilst being lightweight and it can be used in 3 ways including: 1. A conditioner - to be applied after shampoo 2. A mask - to be applied after shampoo/conditioner, leave in for 1 minute 3. A leave in mask - it is recommended that 10-cent amount is applied to wet or dry hair from the mid length to ends I love the versatility of this product in the multiple ways it could be used. I have tried all 3 methods but I generally prefer to use this a mask after shampoo and conditioner. I love treating my hair to this intense conditioning mask. The silky texture makes it easy to apply onto wet hair and it has a lovely aroma. While leaving it on for about a minute or two, I can feel my hair soften from all the nourishing oils. It rinses out easily enough for a hair mask and my hair feels moisterised and soft without feeling heavy or greasy. My hair, particularly the ends is quite dry from daily washing, blow drying and straightening so I find an intense hair mask such as this an important way to combat the dryness whilst making my hair softer and smoother. I believe this mask meets my expectations and its claims and I would recommend to anyone looking for a intense conditioning and moisterising mask.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Versatile Being picked for this trial honestly could not have come at a better time! Partially from home hair dyeing and partially from the change in weather and I have been rocking some seriously dry, flyaway hair that was not doing me any favours. I like that this product can be used under basically any conditions - as a conditioner, as a post shampoo and conditioning mask and even just as a leave-in conditioning treatment (wet OR dry hair, amazing). I also dig that they seem to be angling for what appears to be a professed near-organic product - but I would like to know exactly what is meant by "natural origin" as IMO that could be some choice words to make the implication only. The product itself comes in a screw lid tub. One thing that did catch my attention was one of the instruction points suggests to "dispense a 10 cent [piece] amount but in a tub, there's definitely no dispense mechanism. It's fairly thick and is sort of creamy (the word gluggy comes to mind). It also does have a macadamia-like colouring to it. Though it does have a rather artificially sweet scent to it, which I'm not a huge fan of. I gave applying it to dry hair a go first (FYI for long hair, a 10 cent piece amount ain't going to cut it). It certainly had a distinctly smoothing affect on my hair. Although there was some feel to my hair as though I had put conditioner in and not entirely washed it out properly (which makes sense). Short of a quick-frizz-fix, I probably wouldn't be regularly applying this straight onto dry hair. I then used it as a post conditioning mask (washed out after a few minutes), after using the Fructis Nutri-Repair 3 Shampoo and Conditioner for dry hair. It definitely made my hair look and feel significantly smoother. The texture also became more soft to what it had previously been and was obviously much healthier. It had an equally satisfying effect when used as a conditioner following just the fructis Nutri-Repair 3 Shampoo - with olive oil, avocado and shea (and its paraben free!) All in all I was really quite impressed with this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth hair This hair conditioner is in a large tub of 390 mL making it good value for money. I quite like the design of the packaging. I used this intense conditioner in combination with the nutri repair range by garnier and the combination works well together to nourish hair. I wish the tub came with a scoop to get the conditioner out without using your fingers. The conditioner is a light beige colour and it smells really nice. It leaves a lovely scent lingering in the hair even after you wash it out. On the packaging it says the product can be used as a conditioner, a mask, or a leave in treatment. I tried all three options out to give the best review possible. The product is easy to comb with fingers through mid lengths to ends. It washes out easily without leaving any residue or build up in your hair. The product makes my hair less unruly and easier to comb and manage. I love how easy it is to fit this product into your routine. It is versatile and you don't have to wash it out if you choose to use the product as a leave in treatment. I found the product works well as a leave in treatment however do not be heavy handed with the product otherwise it will weigh your hair down. The product is great to use, leaves my hair smelling lovely and most important my hair is more manageable. Overall I would recommend to use 1-2 times a week to ensure smooth hair which is easy to manage. Overall a 5 star product in my opinion for the price.

I used this product once a week, after shampoo and conditioning my hair. The product can be left on as a mask for a few minutes before rinsing off. The product smells amazing and the natural and local ingredients are an added bonus! After use, my hair immediately felt smoother, softer whilst also feeling light! My hair was reduced in frizz and made my blonde, coloured hair feel much healthier than it did previously. The packaging offers a lot of product, meaning it should last for quite a long time! Although it can be a little tricky in the shower. I think this product would be perfect for weekly use for anyone who wants their hair to feel healthier, smoother and less frizzy. This is the best affordable hair mask I have used to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from food that everyone needs in their hair My hair type is tangled, unruly, frizzy and long. This macadamia hair food has become a new holy grail to my current hair routine. I use it as both a hair mask and leave-in treatment for best results as I adore this product. Before trying this product, I was skeptical. Skeptical about one product can work as a 3 in 1 product. Skeptical of its claims, coming from a cheaper drugstore shampoo brand. This product shocked me. It smells of summer, quite a strong scent of coconut but a very nice scent. This product can be used as a conditioner, hair mask, and a leave-in treatment. It isn't too thick nor heavy for the hair, making it easier to use without leaving the hair feeling too oily. The product comes in a big container but a little goes a long way. After the first use, I noticed my hair being immediately less frizzy and detangled. Within a few uses, I have noticed my hair is much softer, hydrated, smooth and shiny. Overall, for a product this cheap and versatile, I highly recommend it. You have nothing to lose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible I used the Garnier Fructis Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food primarily as a leave in conditioner, as I have found that since cutting 30cm off my hair a few month ago, it tends to be very dry after I was it, no matter what shampoo's and conditioner's I use. I have been using the Coconut Curls Anti-Frizz Curl Styling Milk since then, and it has been my holy grail hair product, until trying this! The hair food leaves my hair soft, shiny and smooth, with little to no frizz, and while the curl styling milk does have a very similar effect, I find it weighs down my hair more than Garnier's new product. It smells delicious and even a few days after washing my hair and using this product, it is not at all oily or heavy. I have used this in conjunction with my usual shampoo and conditioner (both from Lush) and I have used the recommended Garnier Fructis Nutri-Repair 3 shampoo and Conditioner, so helpfully provided by BeautyHeaven and Gariner, and while I have nothing against the Garnier products, I will still be sticking to my usual products. I could not reccommend this product more, it is so nice and conditioning, and I honestly think that using it as a leave in conditioner in wet hair, it will last me two years.

At $12.00 it’s great value and a tub willl last me at least six months, I only need to use this once a week. It smells divine and is really easy to use in the shower, I just scoop it out and slather it on, leave for about ten minutes and rinse thoroughly. This is an intense conditioning treatment that leaves my hair super soft and shiny. I have very thick hair that is hard to tame and can get dry, it’s really hard to get it smooth and sleek. This garnier hair food smoothing macadamia for dry and unruly hair hydrates and helps with styling my hair, it leaves a nice shine and my hair feels really soft after styling. I love that it contains no silicons and parabens to weigh my hair down, it’s a great product that I would recommend

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive at home hair mask I've got thick dry hair which needed a little TLC so i gave this a go. Its fairly inexpensive, and comes in a little tub that lasts a while. There is no silicone or parabens, and can be used either as a leave in treatment, hair mask or conditioner. I've used as the conditioner/hair mask, and apply to the end of my hair, leave it for a while then rinse out. Its got a nice subtle scent, and I was actually surprised that I didn't need to use too much product on my long thick hair. I finger combed the product through the ends. I've been using it for a while now, and notice my hair is in better condition, doesn't tangle as much and is a lot softer to touch
