Rated 5 out of 5 by Niamh F. from I trialed 'Creator' (shade 35) for the last week. I prefer bright colors over nudes so had the perfect shade for an extra pop. I was surprisingly impressed with this product. I have tried other matte lippies and not been impressed. I found it easy to apply and easy to wear. One of the first things I noticed when opening the product was it had a really nice smell! I didn't need much product to cover my lips and found it was very pigmented. Less is definitely more with this product as I found that when I applied too much it became really sticky. I was able to pat my lips with a tissue to get rid of the stickiness but I noticed that I didn't actually need the excess product. One thing I wasn't a fan of is that it was quite difficult to get off. This is definitely a long-wearing lippy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tanika C. from I am a real lover of liquid lipsticks but i cannot stand when they go super dry and crusty and it takes days for my lips to recover. This one was super easy to apply, had great pigment and long lasting. i used a lip liner to line my lips then put it straight on it glided on nicely and did dry super matte and dry it had a nice finish. it didnt have an overly overpowering scent to which i like in a lipstick. It passed both the eating and drinking test with minimal need to reapply after which usually occurs with an lipstick. I re applied once throughout the night but i probably did not need to it was more because i am so used to have to top up my lipstick i almost do it by habit now. It was a little tough to get off, didnt come off with just a make up wipe needed some additional make up remover but overall very happy i would recommend.

I went for the purple No 35, which ended up being the perfect shade - bright and vibrant but not neon, very fun but still classy. I love the applicator, it's perfect to define your lips. I did find that I needed to air-dry the lippy before it stopped being slightly sticky - but then there was no smearing or fading, just a perfect matte shade. The formula is not drying at all, and really stays in place. To remove it, I rubbed coconut oil into my lips, wiped them with a makeup pad and then took the rest of my makeup off as usual. A fantastic product and I will definitely buy again.

Sweet and Vanilla-y... \n\nI found the applicator easy to use... Simply unscrew the lid and apply to lips... The consistency of the ink was really thick and vibrant... I found that a little of it went a really long way... I really adored the shade too... Bright Red and Bold... I found the overall coverage to be really great and no clumps or varied coverage... I liked that is was a matte finish too rather than gloss as it made the colour seem brighter... Also, not staining on my teeth, which was really great!!!\n\nI liked that it didn't make my lips feel sticky or dry... It was just the right consistency, so no tissue test needed...\n\nI did find that it didn't last after food and drinks and I did have to re-apply it each time... I also felt that for the price it was a little over priced...I feel it would be great for going out if you didn't have to eat or drink and just wanted to add a nice pop of colour to an overall look...\n\nI would recommend this...\n

The colour selection is beautiful as well and the scent is lovely. Highly recommend these if you are looking for a non drying liquid lipstick that has great lasting power!

I am 60+, so I have 'lines' - best lipstick for not bleeding into lip lines...I can use bold colours again! One star off for lack of softer pink and neutral colours, there is a lot of mauve in the lighter colours (I don't love). It is really easy to get off with cheap moisturiser...rub in some Ponds for a minute and wipe off. It is sticky - but it's worth it for the all day colour. I'm getting lots of compliments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Natasha C. from Got me back into the Liquid Lip again! I'm not usually a huge lover of the liquid lip but this product is the one that got me back into liking them again! I have purchased such beautiful shades (amazonian and seductress) and fell in love with how they looked on the lips instantly and with how long wearing and non-drying they were. With this product, I got around 5 hours of good wear throughout my workday and it didn't flake off as so many of these types of products tend to do. Instead, it wore off nice and evenly and didn't become a sticky mess either. The application was also made so easy with this product! You can easily fill in and line your lips with the pointed-tip applicator. The lip product once dried properly barely transfers. Shade range is also amazing with so many nudes, neutrals, and other fun shades to choose from. The only issue I have with the product is how tacky it can become if you don't let it dry fully after application and go straight to pressing the lips together... But even then, it is still way more tolerable than having an extremely drying and flaky formula (sorry NYX Lip lingerie). The tackiness also helps with locking in moisture and with the wear quality, making it really 'stick' onto the lips. Make sure you also have a good makeup remover for this! They are also natural looking on the lips and can be worn to work and while doing other daily activities. Will continue to purchase.

The tube is the shade of the lipstick and it comes complete with a contrasting glossy white lid. The Matte Ink has a creamy consistency and smells so delicious, having a gourmand vanilla frosting scent.\nThe applicator of this lipstick is a sponge one, but it has a unique shape. The tip is shaped like a tear drop with a tiny well in the center. The pointed end and edges of the sponge are great for precise application, whereas a little extra product is able to be collected in the middle where you want the most amount of lipstick for the lips. The clever design means less dipping back into the tube.\nI received the shade Pioneer, a gorgeous true red shade which is a colour I have been loving. The formula goes onto the lips smoothly. One layer gives me an opaque lipstick application without streaks or patchiness.\nNot long after application the Matte Ink feels quite sticky on the lips as it is drying down. So my initial thought was "oh no, I don't like this". However, after around 30 or so minutes when the lipstick finally sets, my lips only felt slightly tacky. The lipstick at this stage is completely transfer proof.\nI got an impressive 7 hours wear before I washed my makeup off and the lipstick was still going strong, being tested during eating, drinking and even a cheeky little kiss with hubby.\nNot only do I love the shade Pioneer, but also really like the formula of the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick, easily the best drugstore liquid lipstick I have tried. I found that it lasted throughout wear without need for touch-ups and was comfortable on my lips. The Matte Ink is a win for me!\n

I have the colour 'lover' which is a beautiful dark pink colour. I like the sponge tip applicator as it makes it easy to apply the colour. The only downside for me is that I found it to be a bit drying on my lips. If you have already dry lips it does make it more pronounced when this product is applied on top.

This matte liquid lip colour hydrates my lips and don't dry my lips out. The colour is true to the tube and doesn't fade away and lasts a few hours for me. Usually I wear a lip balm under matte liquid lip colours, but for this product, I don't need to use one. It goes on almost creamy and doesn't streak on my lips. \n\nPros:\nLow priced\nGood good coverage\n\nCons:\nWill need touch up after some hours\n\nRecommendation:\nThis liquid lip colour gives good colour intensity to my lips wihtout making my lips feel dry. \n

In saying this, I needed to make sure my lips were fully prepped before applying the product to avoid flaking. This is a lipstick I would definitely try again.

The applicator was a little large & took some concentration but once I got it on - What a superstar! It outlasted a house move, several rounds of G&Ts and an enormous bowl of nachos. It does dry quite quickly so you can't really take your time applying it- the plus with this though is that it's quick to apply, great if you're in a rush!

I will say hat it does take a while to dry and if you have any lines in your lips it will go a bit strange. I find the best way to apply is keeping your lips stretched out until it dries. It stays quite tacky for about 10 minutes or so but once it’s on then it’s not going anywhere! I really loved how it wasn’t that horrible drying liquid to matte lip formula and it didn’t crumble. It felt incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I am keen to pick up more colours.

The applicator of the liquid lips was a standout for me it’s complairbale to my YSL liquid lip applicator, the applicator made putting on the liquid lip easy and made no need for a lip liner as the top point of the applicator made it a dream to line the lips before filling in. The liquid lip itself has a very pleasant smell to it which is nice, it applied smoothly and highly pigmented. The lipstick took quiet sometime to dry down and once it did was sticky which was good as it didn’t dry out my lips like normal liquid lips tend to do. I applied this in the morning and wore it all day only having to reapply after having a greasy lunch but even then it was only small patches that came off. The colour I had did stain my lips a little bit when it came to taking it off at the end of the day. Overall I’m excited to try the other colours that are avaliable and would recommend this lipstick to other people.

I trialed this lipstick in the color Pioneer - a deep red and being a matte lipstick, the color pay off was a little darker than the packaging. The application process was easy, smooth and easy to apply to all the corners of your lips. I used this lipstick without a lip liner. The lipstick felts tacky to start with but after a few minutes it dries completely and is not heavy on the lips. I have dry lips and through trial and error, a thick layer of this lipstick will really make the dry lips and cracks very visible, so start with a thin layer. I have also tried this with adequate moisturizing and even lip scrubs as a prep but both times it was still very obvious how dry my lips were. Removing this product took effort! It definitely didn't budge with just cleanser and water. I had to use two makeup remover wipes and cleansing oil to really remove all traces of the lipstick and the color, i didn't mind the extra steps to remove it, given how well it lasted on my lips.

Some people may not complement such a bright colour but personally I loved it and how it stands out. \nThe main reason I liked this was because this is one of the few lipsticks I've worn that actually stays on for quite a long time even when you eat! (But it's also is not easy to take off). I literally just want to wear it all the time! \nAlso, because my lips are somewhat dry, it wasn't too easy to apply and it did appear cracked, so I would recommend moist lips beforehand (e.g. lipbalm). \n\nPretty good value for money!\n

I tried a dark pigmented one, and there was a bit of "colour bunching" (if that's the technical term ;) ) but nothing that wasn't fixed after spending a little more time spreading it out. The colour was glorious and didn't bleed or get everywhere like some of my other lipsticks. Absolutely recommend, and will continue to wear for a long time. :)

Leaves a stain on the lips till the next day. The color was a perfect match for my skin tone. The coverage was good and finish was matte . I would not wear it pretty often as its stains my lips but would recomment the shade.

Need to apply quickly as it does dry fast. Does have a tacky feel.\n\nLovely smell. Doesn’t look dry or cracked like some other matte lipsticks. Not long lasting on lips but be careful applying as it does stain surrounding skin. Do not do a test patch on ur hand it takes ages to come off.\n

I have the colour Heroine, it is a beautiful vibrant pink and really provides a pop of colour. \n\nFirst impression when opening it is the colour then the lovely smell. At first I did struggle with getting an even coverage on the lips, due to initial stickiness of the formula, it can lift and clump together if you reapply over the same area. Best to get a liberal amount on the applicator and apply in one stroke. \n\nThe applicator is different to most as it has a gap in the middle allowing for the more product on the applicator to more coverage in the middle of your lips. After it dries on the lips about 30 seconds it feel really good the colour is still as vibrant as when it comes out of the tube, it doesn’t dry out your lips and is doesn’t feel heavy on.\n\nIt can take on a a few meals, I wore it daily to work so usually breakfast of cereal or toast and coffee around after lunch I found it tended to start coming off on in inside if my lips first leaving a uneven pink outline, if I applied it on for just the evening and i went out for dinner it wouldn't budge and this is after enjoying a burger.\n\nAnything that doesn’t come off due to food and drink will last all day and night. Over all it a good product but I would recommend it, just keep an eye on your lips after you have eaten and give yourself a touch up to keep the even coverage. \n

The colour on my lips is definitely super bright and I can see I can build on even more colour if I wanted to.\n\nThe colour is definitely suited for going out including parties but not for my everyday.\n\nThe colour does rub off a little and my lips feel a little dry so I apply on lip balm to fix that.\n\nThe colour lasts for a long time.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Georgina B. from I have a slight obsession with matte liquid lipsticks and am always very keen to try a new one. I am happy to say that this one was really great!\n\nI tested shade 35 Creator which is a very bright purple. This is not my usual shade but surprisingly I actually really liked the colour and it suited me well. It definitely wouldn't be a colour for everyone though but they seem to have a decent shade range so there is likely one for everyone.\n\nThe packaging is quite nice, simple but pretty, with the tube being the colour of the lipstick shade you have chosen. The applicator is really nice and allows for a very smooth, even application. \n\nThe formula for this is very thick, and I suppose 'inky' as the title says. I would recommend very careful application as it is very hard to fix one it has been applied. The coverage was really good, one coat was enough and I had no patchiness at all. This was impressive as purples are usually a very hard formula to get right and patchiness is the norm, so I was very happy that this was different. When you first apply a coat it feels very sticky for a good 5 minutes after. This is due to it taking a while to completely dry, likely due to the thickness of the formula. I would try to avoid rubbing your lips together whilst it still feels sticky as it can still transfer a bit during this time. When you no longer feel the stickiness it ends up feeling very light, especially for a matte lipstick. Usually these can be very drying but I found it was comfortable to wear even after a few hours. \n\nOnce you have applied though, it is not likely to budge anytime soon. I can honestly say I would struggle to think of another similar product which lasts this long whilst still feeling comfortable to wear. I really tried getting it to budge throughout the evening, eating oily, spicy noodle soup, having several drinks and still nothing. It maybe came off around the very inner part of the lips but it still looked like I had only just applied it. It definitely has the staying power to last through a long day or night and shouldn't need reapplying even after eating. Though should you need to apply another coat, as long as you wait until it is completely dry first, a second coat applied smoothly with no problems. \n\nWhilst the staying power is great throughout the day, it does mean that it is very tricky to get off when you want it off. Oil based products which I would usually use to remove similar lip products have little effect as does a makeup wipe. I had to use a combination as well as a lip scrub to get it to budge and even then there was still some light staining, though this tended to be gone by the next day (and was likely due to the bright purple shade).\n\nOverall, I genuinely do like this product and will be purchasing a couple of more wearable shades to try as well. The comfortable feel and the staying power really sell this to me as it would be great to wear throughout a work day or during a night out. I would definitely recommend checking this out if you like matte liquid lipsticks, but don't want one that is too drying. \n

I have it in the shade number 05 'Loyalist', I initially thought this would be a pinky nude colour which is my favourite kind of shade but it definitely pulls a bit more light pink than nude and I felt that it did not suite my skintone (medium with yellow undertone), in saying that though it is a beautiful colour and perfect for the summer! The product was quite thick and creamy to apply. I would say that it is not as drying as other matte liquid lipstick formulas, I found it comfortable to apply and comfortable to wear throughout the day/night. On application it feels quite sticky like a gloss, but despite that I did the transfer test and it was definitely transfer proof! Although it did dry a bit more the longer I wore it there was still that slightly tacky feeling on my lips. What I did not like about this product however was on days that I had dry flaky lips, I felt this accentuated it a bit more, in saying that though it may have been the colour itself that did that. This liquid lipstick definitely lasted long! I work 12 hour shifts and did not feel the need to reapply. I would recommend this product for those ladies who likes the look of a matte lip without the "suck-your-lips-dry" feeling, I would also recommend it to those who have no time to constantly touch up their make up and reapply their lipstick during the day but would still like to look human by the time they get out of work because 2 words - 1. staying 2. power!\n
