Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant is the legendary skincare formula created in 1930 by Miss Arden to soothe and protect skin. Ingredients

Eight Hour Cream's apricot colored balm is so effective due to its combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy and vitamin E. This remarkable protectant promotes healthy looking skin and seals in moisture. Petrolatum: A universally acknowledged intensive moisturizer that also soothes and protects the skin. Salicylic Acid: A beta hydroxy acid pioneered by Elizabeth Arden over seventy years ago. It gently exfoliates to encourage smoother skin. Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate): Acts as an antioxidant to help protect the skin from free-radical damage. It is easily absorbed by the skin and has soothing properties. 8 WAYS TO USE EIGHT HOUR®
Apply head-to-toe to seal in moisture and experience hours of hydrated, healthy-looking skin with each use.
1 .AT FACE VALUE: Simply rub a dime-sized amount in the palms of hands to warm through, then pat onto the face to seal in moisture.
2. COMES IN HANDY: Deeply condition by working the formula into palms and over the fingers, then wrapping each hand for 10 minutes in a warm towel.
3. HEEL-TO-TOE HEALING: Relieve weary feet by massaging the cream generously onto soles, pads and heels, then topping with cotton socks for deeper moisturisation to heal dry skin.
4. A FLASH OF BRILLIANCE: Create instant radiance wherever skin normally catches the light, including legs, shoulders, collarbone, cheeks and bow of the lips.

It was actually bought for me by my Fiance (can you believe it!) who highly recommended it (having heard only good things from his mom and sister). Wow did I fall in love! I started using it on my dry, cracked lips (nothing else seemed to work) and have never looked back. I now use it on my cuticles, any ANY cut or dry skin that I may have and even sometimes use it to shape my brows (YES - this can be done!) Even though some people hate the smell, I found it was something that you just need to get used to. It is a bit more on the pricey side, it lasts very long and is so worth it.

I purchased it mainly to use as a thick lip balm - and it is excellent for the purpose. I also discovered the use of it on nails - and it really does heal cracked nails in a few applications. On other dry skin areas, particularly heels and elbows, I use a regular moisturiser first and then use this product to "seal" in the moisture. It never disappoints me. I do not find the smell of the product offensive, in fact, quite like it. It has a "medicated" / "herbal" sort of smell to it, which I found quite interesting. The product also lasts AGES, and with a long shelf life. I have a tube that is well over 5 years and it still works fine. I purchase the 25ml/30ml special travel sizes for duty free, as 50mL is way to much for me.

For me I use this on my lips during winter and occasionally during the warmer months, nothing keeps them as soft as this. I also use it on rashes or severe dry spots. On clients it is the same deal, dry skin, mature skin, chapped lips, rashes, everything. I apply this, work on other areas while it works it's magic and gently wipe away to reveal happier skin. A 50 ml tube will last you a long time unless you are using it over large areas, the consistency is typical of a balm and it does have a herbally scent and taste which you'll either love or hate, personally I don't like it but I find it easy to deal with due to the results it gives. Amazing stuff, well worth the money!

One evening I was at the Red Fort Delhi watching the sound and light show and was bitten by mosquitoes all over my feet and arms. the next day I itched and itched and itched. out of frustration i searched my bag for some relief and grabbed my eight hout tube and smeared my whole body with it. it worked wonders stopped the itching immediately. i did this repeatedly every time my body itched and each time this cream stopped the itching. the end result was also lovely smooth skin. used it for dry hands during the trip. Used it as lipgloss , while on the plane used it as a moisturiser as my skin was flaking . I will never travel without this all purpose balm. as i had weight restriction i did not carry too many beauty products because I wanted tyo save space for shopping. This product worked for so many things and saved me from lugging around too many products.

The most creative way is on your cheekbones for a glossy dewy look! I personally don't like this for chapped lips and it's too thick for handcream. But it's great for dry patches on the skin. The smell is incredie strong and I can imagine most people really hating it. But it isn't that bad, you will get use to it.

I have used (& loved) it as: A super shiny, moisturising lib balm/gloss A soothing, healing ointment on grazes, scratches & shaving burn An awesome cuticle cream An eyebrow gel An eyelash conditioner A moisturising hair treatment (great on split ends) A fast absorbing, smoothing salve on dry elbows, knees & feet A fantastic treatment for dry, peely, winter hands. I'm a fan of Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment also but I think 8 Hour Cream is much nicer to use. You only need a tiny smidge of the suff so the 50mL tube lasts for ages.

Beware though it has a very distinctive smell and and a thick consistency - gel or balm might have been better, or for an increased sense of accuracy, gloop. I've never been able to use it on my lips as the smell puts me off but some people do love it. I guess its up to each person to decide but I'd say this is one of the must have products for anyone of any age

It doesn't have the most pleasant smell, it smells a bit like a burn salve (well, that's one of it's uses, so no wonder).
