The grate thing at the top does a way better job than the balls do. Gets evey bit mixed in well after just a few seconds. Also the shape of it leaves it super easy to clean aswell.

I own more than 4 brands of shaker and this is BY FAR my favourite, and actually happens to be the *least* expensive at only $3 - yet is actually the biggest, with 750ml of space!! I have actually bought others at over $10 & didn’t mind because I *thought* it meant they’d be of quality… they absolutely were not. Even if they’re brand name does not = quality.. & they weren’t even “decent” quality.. they were just plain old BAD quality & a waste of $12 for 400(ish?) mls. Whatever, forget all them. THIS awesome, sturdy, HUGE $3 shaker is the best! I way prefer the larger ones - they always keep the powders from clumping (as this one also does, as well as the grate it comes with that’s also so easy to disassemble and wash, as is the whole shaker…easy to take apart, easy to rinse…no need for scrubbing off clumps -anywhere- in the whole shaker at all. ***AND*** [this is important for all you protein shakers out there]—> - THIS SHAKER NEVER EVER SMELLS!!! - I’ve been using it every single day for maybe 4-6weeks now! And after a week or so of having bought it I went online to buy a couple more incase I never find another one as good lol - not that I’ll need to purchase any new ones for a loooooong time! I still feel like this first one I bought is indestructible & like I’ll have it for a really long while yet - and I have no worries whatsoever that it’ll dribble my drink on me when shaking it (it closes tightly & properly), or that it might break if I drop it (it’s super sturdy) or my drink won’t last as long as I need (it’s huge). And is certainly the KING of all brands sold at chemists. …..but I quickly must say before I go - more than anything, I was just SO excited to throw out some of my old stinky shakers that I had sitting around “just incase”, teehee.

Just taking out the insert and rinsing the cup, lid, and strainer keeps it plenty clean.

I recommend you add ice to help blend a little better but over all amazing quality. I'd suggest hand washing over dishwasher to reserve the branding.
