General Information

Cetaphil Sun Ultra-Light Lotion SPF 50+ provides sun protection for the face and body and is specially formulated to meet the needs of very sensitive or oily skin. Oil and emulsifier-free, this non-comedogenic lotion nourishes your skin with Vitamin E and absorbs quickly to a matte, non-greasy finish.

Cetaphil Sun Ultra-Light Lotion SPF 50+ provides very high, broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection and is water resistant for four hours. Enriched with nourishing Vitamin E, its oil-free and emulsifier-free formula is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and won't block your pores, making it ideal for very sensitive or oily skin. Plus, the ultra-light lotion spreads and absorbs fast, so it feels pleasant and non-sticky and is suitable to use under makeup too.

Warnings

Directions

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TOO WHITE I have such a high expectancy about this product, because i love the claims and uv filters that it contains. BUT, by far this is the worst texture and appearance. it's too white for my olive skin, i only use a little [which u're not supposed to], but it looks like i put a mask on, plus u cant use it around ur eyes area, so imagine how ridiculous i look, and it also look super greasy. it doesnt feel greasy, but it looks SUPER greasy. i know, u might ask, why dont u put a powder to mattify it ? IT LOOKS EVEN WHITER and thicker. i HATE it. but, MAYBE, if u have fair skin, this would be great for you. now, i only use it at my house.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was hoping for a less shiny face I had really high hopes for this sunscreen. I have oily skin and was trying to find a product that isn't shiny and greasy to use on my face. It's quite good but just not as good as I was expecting! I find that even if I put on the smallest amount my face still gets really shiny and greasy looking... Unfortunately I think I might have to keep looking. I'll probably keep using this on my body in summer but find something better for my face. It's ooookay under a matte makeup but still doesn't feel that great, it's just not as lightweight as I was hoping.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very oily and greasy I tried this product after a bad experience with the Cetaphil Suntivity Lipsomal Lotion SPF 50+ (it was terribly thick and greasy). I'm sorry to report that this stuff isn't much better. It certainly *seems* more lightweight - it came out as a heavy lotion consistency, and was much easier to get out of the squeeze tube than the Lipsomal's hard round plastic bottle. However, when applied, it shared a lot of the same problems as the Liposomal lotion. Like the Liposomal lotion, it leaves my arms shiny and greasy all day. They are not quite as tacky as with the Liposomal, but feel more....wet, like I've drenched my arms in olive oil. If I apply the correct amount (1 tsp / limb) my clothes come off feeling like they've been soaked in oil. White marks also collect in the crook of my elbow throughout the day This does have the benefit of being scent-free and hypoallergenic, and did not cause any reactions (on my body, cos there is no way this is going near my face). It is also water resistant, so might be suitable for swimming. But I cannot recommend it for everyday wear, and like the Liposomal, feel that the quality is not worth the high price tag, and that you could get a cheaper sunscreen with a better feel on quite easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I like cetaphil products but Have been happily using cetaphil products for years and just tried their sunscreen, then I discovered they are not cruelty free. Silly me not to check first. If they can't properly claim cruelty free on products, they shouldn't bother claiming it in an faq without giving any detail to back up the claim. Selling products to countries they know will test on animals is not ok. Will stick with trusted brands such as Innoxa now.

In reality a quarter tsp for my face left a thick, white, greasy feeling film over the skin, and it pills horribly. The white cast reduced over time but didn't disappear completely. Will never use this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard Pass Nice Sunscreen but transferred onto everything and ruined my car The sunscreen its self is everything I’ve been looking for in a sunscreen for years! its light, doesn’t feel sticky when on and doesn’t leave my skin stinking like suncream. BUT I put in on and got straight in the car (a few minutes after applying) to go out and it transferred to my leather seats and left a horrible white oily mark that was nearly impossible to get out, I got to my destination, got out of the car and the back of my calf touched my door and went around to the boot and got some things out from far in so my knees touched the paint….which I didn’t notice these things until I got back to the car a few hours later to see my body parts printed on it- now my black car has a sticky oily white spot that cant be removed without solvent and its costing hundreds to get buffed out and the paint protection reapplied. I couldn’t throw this out fast enough after this. Very disappointed because initially I was overjoyed to find a sunscreen that is so light you can barely feel or smell it.

No idea how people can find this pleasant to use, or why it is advertised as having a matte finish. It also has a very noticeable white tint even on light skin. Avoid!

My only positive is that it didn't sting my eyes, though it creased in my eyelids and left me with white lines. I recommend Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen instead.

I wanted to believe that this product is good for my skin type because of its claims but it sadly leaves a white cast, is too heavy and oily. (For reference I use two fingers worth, which is a roughly a teaspoon to cover face, neck and ears) The only good thing I can say about this is that it did not give me breakouts. I guess if you have dry skin you may use this product but beware of looking really white

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy i bought " ultra light" because i think it would be light consistency and not thick.. this is really missleading and i am supper unhappy with that. it left the white cast when i put on my face even tho i apply really small amount and it said non greasy but i am swear,, it is greassy not even matt.. as i have melasezia/ fungus acne so this brand will not for my choice..

It leaves an obvious white cast on your face and then turns super shiny so I have to powder my whole face. My eyes are on fire after wearing it today and I am not impressed. It doesnt cause breakouts, but when worn under makeup my concealer tends to move/slide and not set proeperly. Fine for sporting activities but not for light everyday use under makeup.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible - unless you're a ghost Even applied thinly (which probably then doesn't give full sun protection) this product leaves a definite white cast. Applied generously, you look like you've put 50% zinc on your face. It's very thick and gloopy - the opposite of what the label implies, and it doesn't sink in or dry off. I'll finish it off by using when mowing the lawn, but only because then I come in and shower.
