If you find you’re leaking breast milk from one breast as your baby feeds from the other, Medela milk collection shells can save this excess milk while you breastfeed.

They feature a built-in spout so that you can easily empty the breast milk that has collected in them and is designed to be worn discreetly. The soft silicone backs make them comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It helps to catch milk that leaks and it is easy to pour the milk out into a bottle or into a syringe. Pretty straightforward of a product and stays in place as long as your bra is tight/fitted right. The only downside is that you sometimes forget not to bend forwards and when you do, all that precious milk you've collected gets spilled! All in all, it's a good product that does as it should but probably would not recommend using this if you're running around at home trying to carry your baby and having to bend forward all the timex

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for oversupply/or lots of leaking boobs Love the product but there is room for improvement to help people with a large oversupply of milk (like myself) or people that leak a lot. The silicon is soft and gentle around the nipple. Would be great if there was a removable cap/lid for the top to stop the milk leaking out the easy-pour spout when you bend over (e.g. when putting baby in cot). I use blu-tac over the hole at the top to help with the leaking when shells get full. Each shell holds maximum 30mls each when full. Check the shells regularly as boobs leak more when wearing them because nipples have room to breath and do their thing. It’s hard for me to think about how much milk I wasted and how many bras/shirts I went through in a day that were covered in milk before using the breastmilk collection shells. If you can afford it get 2 packets (total 4 shells) to keep a clean set that is easy to swap over when emptying the set you have in your bra. You can’t wear these properly without a good fitting bra or tight nursing singlet as the shells will move around and fall off your nipple. They do take up a bit of room in your bra but doesn’t noticeably change the shape of your boob when you have a shirt on. If they were any smaller they would not catch much of a let down/leakage session. I would love to see a larger version with a but more room for larger nipples and catch about 50mls but that would probably be quite noticeable when you have a shirt on. Check and empty regularly. Keep clean and dry around seals after emptying shells or they won’t seal properly and it will leak out the bottom. When full the shells will leak from all sides but mainly at the bottom. Suggest still wearing breast pads on bra as a backup if shells fill up quickly. I couldn’t get through a normal day without being covered in milk before I got these breastmilk collection shells. Amazing purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with the quality I bought these aboit 1 month after delivery and I wish I had discovered them sooner. They captured my leakage perfectly. They are a little bulky but I guess most breast milk cups are. I would recommend this to all new mothers. Certainly saved me having to change my wet bra 3 times a day!

Meaning if you were to bend over & forget about them milk will pour out. Great to use whilst feeding, but wouldn’t be able to use all day for leaking

However as others have stated, they aren't that comfortable and I found they were slightly small on the nipple and tight. They also don't stay in place very well. However these did their intended purpose at the start.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good milk catcher [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love these shells as they collect milk really well without leaking, however after a visit from my midwife, I don't use them as often. I was using them practically all day and only removed during feeding/expressing, sleeping and showering. The midwife says they do more damage than good as the plastic presses too hard against the nipple and should only be used whilst feeding. I keep forgetting to put them on while feeding, so unfortunately I feel I made an unnecessary purchase.

However I found them hard to fit and keep in place. Also I was fortunate enough not to have much leakage when I breastfeed so they weren't actually that useful. Perhaps they fit some people better than others.

Easy pour spout is easy to use. In my opinion, buy them 2nd hand if you can. Not worth the $25 i paid when people are selling them for $10 online.

These were not comfortable, they did not sit well in my bra. If you bend over, which you do a lot to pick the baby up, milk tips out. These were expensive too. I would not recommend, there are better alternative brands to use.

It did fit comfortable in my bra and while I was able to collect a small amount, it just wasn’t worth the effort of cleaning and sterilizing. I would much prefer a silicon pump to also aid with milk production.

Unfortunately I didn’t find these as good as the Avent milk collection cups or the Haakka milk collectors. In theory these products are great for catching milk from let down when breastfeeding or leakage when full. However these were just uncomfortable, hard and would often leak as they would mould around the breasts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for smaller breasts The hole for you nipple to sit in is so large that some of your breast goes in as well, which means that the nipple presses up against the plastic not allowing the milk to flow freely into the cup (even when placed into a very loose fitting bra). The idea is good, but for women with small breasts I think the hole would need to be smaller.

First of all you can't use them without wearing a nursing bra, and is not very carefu spills a lot. I though they would stick to your breast in some way but no. The nipple goes through a big hole in middle which makes it very hard to collect without spilling.

I found them to be very uncomfortable and that there would still be leakage everywhere. I bought these at baby bunting. I would not recommend buying.

I had a look online and found these medela milk collection shells. I wore them for about 2 weeks and hated them! They’re not very practical and I spilt milk everywhere through the tiny hole opening when I moved or bent.
