Rated 3 out of 5 by from I brought this when I was desperate to cover my dark roots. I wanted to blend them with my highlighted hair, but I was a bit disappointed with the result. I found that it didn't do the best job. Even after applying the product evenly I found that it didn't provide adequate coverage, even when I applied more layers it still didn't disguise the dark roots. Perhaps it would work better in grey hair? I also found that it made my hair matte where I sprayed it, which also wasn't a good look. I don't know who to recommend this product to, as I wasn't impressed with it, perhaps someone with darker hair?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I trialled the L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Dark Roots in the Light Blonde colour and unfortunately wasn't overly impressed with the product. I really liked the bright coloured packaging and I found the product quite easy to apply however I didn't find that the product coloured my hair or disguised my roots at all. I sprayed it on my roots which are a mousey brown colour in comparison to my light blonde coloured hair and it literally did nothing. It felt cold on my scalp but other than that I couldn't see a difference. I tried shaking the can and holding the can at different distances from my head but neither of these things helped and I couldn't see any visible difference to my root colour.\nI like the general idea of this product and think it would be really handy if it actually did colour your roots especially for events when you haven't had time to visit the hairdresser. I have my fingers crossed that L'Oreal might revamp the formula and improve the results. Overall, a cool idea for a product but didn't deliver for me and my regrowth.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is a good option for covering up grey roots in between dying. It doesn't budge all day, however it "will" transfer if you rub your fingers or nails on it. The spray is a fine mist so it will stain clothes if you aren't careful. I usually wrap a towel around my shoulders and upper half before spraying it. And you will likely need to clean up staining around your forehead and sometimes a few flecks of the spray on the face, with a tissues/cotton pad dipped in water. Great for occasional use, but I'd like t see it be "less messy".

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was gifted the Magic Retouch Instant Concealer Spray in the black shade, and I really like the concept of it. As a busy mum of three, I don't often have the time to go to the hairdresser for a colour, I usually dye my hair at home myself. So when I heard about this, I thought that it would be fantastic to use for those moments when time isn't on your side and you need to look your best.\nI used the spay as per the instructions, however, I found that some of the product stained my forehead a little, and I had to wipe it off. Whilst it blended in ok, I found the pressure of the nozzle a little strong and it came out quite suddenly and quite a lot of product sprays out, hence the stained forehead..\nI also was quite shocked (and embarrassed) to discover that the colour spread all over my hands when I ran them through my hair, even though the product had dried..\nSo, that experience has made me rather reluctant to us it again. I really wanted to like this product more than I did. I might give it another go and try to apply less to see if I can achieve better results..\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I found the spray was a bit too broad and gave an unpleasant overlap. Then I sprayed in the lid and used a paint brush to apply it and found it worked well. The coverage was good and easy to touch up by spraying in the lid and using the paintbrush the next day. I'm not sure how it would work when I want to have my roots tinted as I would not want to wash before tinting, but that would mean putting a tint over the product. Mixing chemicals is not usually a good idea.

First attempt was on my forehead and second attempt splattered into my face and arm. Came off easily with makeup remover wipes. I also found if you used too much in one spot it took longer to dry and was stiff like hairspray.

I read and followed the instructions but ended up with colour on my face. When I removed it I also ended up removing the colour from my hair. I have very thin, fine hair so the product was also visible in places on my scalp. I would recommend this product to others with thicker hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A useful product for an easy, quick solution to covering grey hairs at short notice! I would definitely use again for those times when I need coverage for grey hair but can't get to the hairdresser yet. It gave good colour coverage and was natural looking which is important to me, however next time I would choose a shade lighter than the one I selected. I liked the look and size of the packaging however I found the nozzle spray a bit tricky to use for hair around my face so would prefer a different method of application. Overall, a good product that does the job!\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loreal magic touch is a very clever product. It is a quick fix for those times when you just don't have time to colour your hair. I have medium brown hair and I tried it in the brown colour which was too dark for me. I found the actual colour to be darker than the swatch on the packaging. It covered greys well but will stain your skin so be careful not to use your hands to rub the product in. I wouldn't use this product on a regular basis but for emergencies it is handy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from no thanks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] so many things to say about loreal Paris magic retouch (brown) so first off i have light blond hair which i had dyed brown and used this product to touch up where i had regrowth well it does cover the regrowth but so many things wrong like how my hair gets sticky and also leaves it greasy it builds up on my scalp and my hands are covered and i had to use some bicarb to help get some of the colour off my hands but there is still some leftovers its not comfortable on my head left some stains on my sheets i wouldn't buy this product because its not great and also expensive but it is very easy to use and lasts a while that's about all that is positive about this product. i do not recommend loreal Paris magic root touch up.

First spray I ended up with a very big and very obvious dark circle which I had to clean off which was messy. after that I mainly managed lighter sprays but the colour difference between my brown hair and the brown spray was really obvious. This would suit extremely dark brown to almost black hair, not mid or lighter browns. Also wouldn’t recommend having light coloured pillow cases as it left some discolouration.

Overall I found the formula very sticky and made my hair look dirty due to its matte hue. The blonde version came out very dark and I couldn't brush it out at the end of the day. I think those with much darker hair would have a better time with this.

My grey hairs are sparse, but it did not cover anything at all; I could still see them coming through and the blend was not seamless at all. I sprayed my greys at around 7:30am this morning; it's now 10:29am and every time I touch my hair it keeps coming off on my fingers.

The advert says that it drys quickly and doesn't get on your hands - it gets all over your hands and does not dry completely at all.
