A VLED can be used as a total diet replacement, meaning you can replace all 3 meals with specially formulated VLED products, such as OPTIFAST VLCD. Total diet replacement for the dietary management of overweight and obesity.
OPTIFAST Program is intended for use as part of the management of people who are obese or overweight when there is associated secondary pathology e.g. non-insulin dependent diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism corrected by replacement therapy, gynaecological disorders, hyperlipidaemia or where obesity is an impediment to surgery.

Very low energy diets are not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women, infants, children, adolescents and elderly. People over 65 years and those with existing medical conditions, please consult your healthcare professional before use. Very low energy diet should not be used by people with acute heart disease, advancing renal disease, advanced hepatic disease or overt psychosis.

Directions

Add one sachet of OPTIFAST VLCD to 200-250mL of cold or warm water. Stir, blend or shake to dissolve. Do not use boiling water. All prepared products should be tightly covered and consumed within 4 hours at room temperature or within 24 hours if refrigerated. Note: Discard any unfinished product that has been heated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Optifast Vanilla is my favourite flavour I totally love the taste of optifast, it is not as sweet as optislim and it is thicker and mixes easier. I use both products as optislim is cheaper, i just alternate. The Vanilla Optifast is my favourite flavour, followed by chocolate. I have just brought Caramel and Banana to try. I have lost 8 kilos in 3 weeks and I plan to stick to this.

The vanilla one I have at lunch or dinner with a SHOT of coffee so I get a coffee shake :D, I have the banana shakes for breakfast. As I’m active anyway I blend a banana with my shake because I LURV my bananas :) I only replace 2 of my meals so boxes last me longer, I just have a very healthy salad or stir fry sometimes for dinner ect. I didn’t need to loose a lot of weight but definatly needed to commit to changing my habitual eating habits! So this has done that :)

This IS NOT a negative review - I have begun using these products in line with my specialist's specifications and have found taste, texture and convenience exemplary. I just wanted to draw attention to the fact they contain fish oil, because not everyone ready the label on things they're prescribed.

Now have bought the 18 pack Vanilla for same price as the 10. Much better value. Will try a bit of coffee in the morning one to add some variety but happy with the vanilla for lunch and dinner. Following the intensive program for a couple of weeks. Hoping for a good Kickstart and then go back to 2 shakes a day with 1 healthy meal.

It’s good you get 18 to a pack also, as it’s 6 more to a standard pack. They should all be transferred to this, as they don’t last long enough. You need to buy these on special too, as they cost too much otherwise... if you have 2-3 day too, they don’t last long enough, which is annoying. It’d be great if they could make bulk packs of 50+
