It left stains on my pillow.

I have dark brown hair and white regrowth, it stands out as it’s right down the part of my hair. I found the cool dark brown matched really well and was easy to apply and covered most of the hairs. The only downfall for me was I felt that it left a gritty/tacky feel to the roots and when I’ve used it I’ve wanted to wash it out as soon as possible. Other then that I would highly recommend for us in between salon visits or colouring your hair at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kylie K. from Comes in a handy 75ml spay can which lasts a surprisingly long time time as only a small spray is necessary to cover my problem area. I have been using the Loreal Densifying Serum and it has given me a big crop of new colourless hairs and I needed a temporary cover-up until they are of a thickness and length for professional dying. Initially spray onto a tissue to clear the nozzle or it can splatter out in a random messy pattern which ended up on my forehead. Now I just place a head band over my forehead and spray to avoid the speckles that end up there. What I love is that I have used it and had a big workout (think dripping wet hair) and it didn't run down my face or budge, really liked that! It seems to hold up well under all conditions but brushes out easily. It does leave a slight almost waxy feel to my hair, but doesn't make it look dirty or greasy. Good little performer for the price.

It is better than the colour regrowth stick I have used in the past. \nThe colour of the L'Oréal Retouch Spray blends in so well and completely covers all my regrowth.\n\nPros\n+ affordable\n+ easy to use\n+ naturally covers regrowth\n\nCons\n- The spray is a little tricky to use especially spraying near the forehead area. Some of the product end up on my forehead but it can be easily removed with some water and tissue. \n

However, I am writing this review in the name of my mum, who has been using this root concealer for over a year now and I can see how much it changed her life ( seriously). My mum's hair grows really fast, and the roots are just grey, if not white. My mum doesn't embrace the grey though ( bless those who do!) and she was forced to do her roots almost every two to three weeks as she felt uncomfortable with the grey roots showing. She doesn't like to colour her hair so often as it does damage it to some extent. When I showed her Magic Retouch she wanted to give it a go. She has got it in DARK BROWN shade and it is a great match for her hair colour.\nAlthough the product has some features that could be improved, my mum keeps on using it as the performance of Magic Retouch is worth it.\n\n \n+ a very handy aerosol packaging, a diffuser that makes the application easy\n+ immediate results, it actually covers grey hair\n+ prolongs the time between hair salon visits \n+ gives back the confidence as it provides a quick fix\n+ works a little like a dry shampoo - which is a bonus! ( a dry shampoo that doesn't make the hair look grey!)\n+ if not washed out the same day it actually remains for days\n+ doesn't leave stains on the pillow\n+ easily washed out during the hairwash\n+ if used just to conceal the roots, one bottle will last around 6 months ( at least it did for my mum)\n\n \nNow onto some (understandable) bad sides\n- will colour the scalp too, but I understand that, it would be hard not too, but can be easily wiped from the forehead for example\n- might leave nasty stains if touched before setting\n- more shades welcome\nI believe Magic Retouch is a life and hair saver for a lot of women, It is extremely easy to apply and provides immediate results, that's why it is loved by many.\n

The spray gives good coverage, It does feel a bit like a heavy dry shampoo so I find my hairstyle needs to be bouncy that day. A bit messy for everyday, but perfect for those events the weekly before your colour.

It was a bit tricky using it at first as it came out unevenly and tend to splatter a bit, but once you applied the correct pressure to the nozzle it was easier to use. It does stain your skin a bit so you have to be careful. I found it provided great coverage for my regrowth and blended well with my hair colour. After it dried, the colour didn't transfer to clothing/bed sheets so you can leave it on for a few days until you wash it off.\n

I found the Magic Retouch was perfect for covering regrowth & pesky grey hairs & to lengthen times in between dye jobs. The light brown was a good colour match for my hair, the nozzle was easier to apply at the roots on the scalp a little trickier near the hair line on your face without getting overspray - used a comb to try & cause a barrier which worked quite well. There was no lingering chemical smell & the slim lightweight container was quick & easy to use. I would use again & recommend to friends.

After missing a hair appointment due to work commitments, i was desperate to cover the part line that had a good inch of regrowth. This product did this, and I was able to go out in public without wearing a hat.\nit takes a little while to dry, and can stain your skin if you don't wipe it off fast. It can feel a little dry on your hair if you use too much. If you use lightly and where it is most needed, this is a fantastic and easy to use product.\n

I DIY colour my hair, and it's always a reddish/brown colour, so the dark brown blended perfectly. \nIt was the perfect timing for me to receive this as I am due for another home colour. My hair has about 1.5 - 2cm of regrowth at the moment and I usually try to hide it by styling my hair certain ways. So I had a lot of greys to really see if this product worked or not. \nIt says to hold can upright and spray at 10cm from hair, so I followed these instructions....I found it difficult to judge how long to press the nozzle down and the pressure I should use as it says you just need a light spray....so I was nervous using it and first time I managed to spray some colour on my skin too...luckily it comes off easily if you wipe it straight away. It definitely covers the greys but it took longer than 3 seconds to do the job...as I use it more and more I will probably get more used to applying the colour and it may not take as long. I found I had to do a few sweeps to colour the entire 2cms of grey. \nMy air looked 100% better after I finished. Upon finishing I also had to get a mirror and clean my face as it does leave little brown specks on your skin, but again, these come off really easily. \nI have a chronic health condition where my body overheats almost constantly and I feel like my body is going to spontaneously combust and the sweat is like running water...very embarrassing but there's nothing that can be done at the moment. Anyway, I had no trouble whatsoever with any of the colour running, which is something I was concerned with. \nI will definitely purchase again once this is finished. It is so handy to have, especially when I have regrowth and haven't got the money right then to buy a DIY hair colour. This colour regrowth spray covers the regrowth perfectly for me, I couldn't expect any better result. \n

Rated 4 out of 5 by Peta from L'Oreal Magic Touch worked well to hide my greys. The light brown colour blended in very well with my hair colour and will enable me to delay doing a full re-colour. I think it will be a handy product to use between colourings. With a few more uses I think I will get better at applying it too, you only need a small spray as too much will stain your skin! It washes out easily with shampoo but does not come off on your clothes or pillow. Great product for emergency touch ups!\n

I'm already a fan of Loreal foam hair dye - which I find so easy to use and mess free compare to the normal hair dyes. This product is simple to use, great end so it doesn't go anywhere. It matched my hair colour and most importantly it left no stains. I will definitely buy it and keep in my bathroom cabinet for when I can't afford the salon visit and between the visits or can't be bother with permanent colouring. Good idea!!

It has a great applicator and a small amount goes a long way.\nI Like the fact that it is applied to dry hair, and lasts until shampooed out.\nI tried the brown colour and found it a bit dark for my hair. Would try a lighter shade next time.\nGreat to use in between visits to one's hairdresser. \n

I probably tried a shade darker than I should have, so I'd recommend going a shade lighter than you think you need for your first use. I initially found the nozzle a touch hard to manage - difficult to get just the right pressure so that I got enough product but not too much - but once this minor hurdle was cleared, this was a great product. It really does provide effective coverage of regrowth/roots; it didn't come off on anything and it lasted all day. I did find that a little which got on to my scalp (as a result of my nozzle issue) lasted through two washes, but that's not really a problem. Overall, this was really good and I'd definitely recommend it for short term touch ups.\n

I was sceptical that this product could really be as effective as advertised, but I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with how quick and easy L'Oreal Magic Retouch is to use and how well it blended with my hair colour. It only took a short while to find the greys and give them a quick spray and they were gone. The only faults I found with it is that it feels quite cool as it goes on and has a light chemical scent, which I could have done without. But it dries very quickly and leaves hair soft to touch. I have white bedding and was worried it might rub off onto that, but it didn't at all. I'll definitely keep some of this on hand for the future in between dye jobs to touch up. Highly recommend :)

One coat covered up all those pesky grays and the colour was a good match. Colour stayed for three days until I washed my hair. Definitely use again as there are times where you just can't get to a salon for your touchup. Recommend to any one short of time as an emergency colour touch up.

Not too sure how you would manage hair at back.Super handy item to have on hand when getting to the hairdresser for a regrowth tint is difficult.\nI would also recommend some barrier cream around hairline as it is hard to remove tint from skin. Also mop up any tint on vanities etc quickly as it can stain.\nAfter a few applications I am sure you handle the tint spraying much better.\n

It has become quite expensive to visit the hairdresser when a little regrowth starts showing.\nI was super excited to trial the brown shade. I found the product easy to apply as there is a small thin horizontal tube coming off the nozzle which makes it easy to aim at the precise area you want to cover. The colour came out quickly and not as evenly as I would have liked but I found if you didn’t hesitate or press too hard it worked better. \n\nThrough trial and error, I found that it was best to apply some moisturizer around your face and hairline because it makes it easier to remove if it gets on your skin.This product covers and blends really well, and looks natural. It stays until washed out, so there’s no need to reapply for a few days meaning a bottle should last some time as you only need a small amount. I would recommend this product to all.\n

Once applied, my hair does feel slightly dry and stiff, exactly as if I've applied hair spray. But other than that, this is a perfect way to touch up your greys and also to play around with colour on your hair. Fantastic product!
