Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great moisturising serum for a good price...a little sticky. Hi - I have trialled the Skin renewal facial serum by Dermaveen. This is a nice product and really soaks into the skin very well - it just seems to be a little 'sticky' after you use it. by that - I mean it really works well for what is sets out to do, but does feel a little tacky on your hands after you use it. It did give me very well balanced moisture - and I particularly liked that you didn't need very much at all to get your whole face and neck covered - which means great value as you didn't need very much product. I loved that this product is very good for you and completely free of nasty chemicals - no parabens, lanolin, fragrances or artificial dyes or alcohol. I would gladly let my kids use this product with no hesitation at all. Overall - a good product but doesn't quite leave you 100% happy :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hydrating facial serum I was so excited to be chosen to be apart of this trial with these three Dermaveen products! I have used this brand in the past before and have enjoyed their products thoroughly! I have used the bath and shower oil and it is so amazing for my dry skin! This serum is lovely. It is clear and comes out quite thick (as opposed to most serums which are very thin) which I personally liked! It has such a lightweight texture and easily absorbs straight into the skin. I used this serum each night after I removed my makeup and washed my face. You only need a small amount as it goes such a long way! After applying it my skin feels hydrated, supple, soft and nourished! I love how this product is free of fragrance, parabens, lanolin, artificial dyes and alcohol. All dermaveen products are suitable for sensitive skin, dermatologically tested and are super affordable! I’m so happy I was given the chance to try this product out as it has become a staple in my nightly routine!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product for Sensistive Skin I trialled the Dermveen Skin Renewal Facial Serum and would definitely recommend this product to anyone with sensitive or normal skin. I found this product absorbed into the skin really well, however I found the texture to be a bit heavy for a serum and hence the 4/5 rating. I always try to steer away from harsh chemicals, so given this product is hypoallergenic and free of lanolin, parabens, artificial dyes & fragrances, this was a big plus for me. I loved the packing and pump applicator, and found the product left my skin feeling soft and supple after just a few days. I also love how this product is very affordable and leaves your skin feeling great. In summary I would definitely recommend this serum to anyone who wants a gentle, affordable, and effective product, which doesn’t break the bank and is free from harsh chemicals. This product would also be suited to anyone with sensitive or normal skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For sensitive/oily/dry skins If you don’t use a lot of serums, this is definitely a lovely product. Especially if you are shopping for serums on a budget. This product boasts a range of hydrating ingredients that aren’t irritating and prove to be great value for money. It has a slightly tacky texture for a hydration serum, however that may be because I like to use a lot so I would recommend testing it for yourself. I love dermaveen products for the body and this is the first time I have tried their facial products. Definitely a wonderful range to try if you’re dry/normal/oily and have sensitive skin. I would say this serum covers all skin types and is light enough even for acne prone skins. You can’t ever have enough hydration! I love the packaging. This bottle is an airtight pump with a good lid so I think this preserves the product well. All in all I am happy with this product for its price range and I would buy it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s alright for the price To me this serum feels like it does nothing at all, feels like water on the skin and sinks in quickly. Afterwards my skin feels the exact as if I had only put moisturiser on, haven’t seen any benefit after using for around 1 month. Though for the price I cannot complain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay I bought this a month ago because the ingredients list seemed good. It is decently hydrating but pills terribly on me, especially when I have tried to layer it. It doesn't sink in as well as other serums I have used.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fast Absorbing but too Watery Was on the market for a new serum and came across this one from Dermaveen. Have tried their other products and was satisfied with them all. This serum is fast absorbing but a bit too water for my liking; considering serums are usually more concentrated?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Serum This was a nice product and a great buy for those on a budget. Absorbed well on skin and not sticky in texture. Alcohol free so works well on sensitive skin. Provides hydration. Comes in a small bottle pump with a cap, handy for travelling. Pump was easy to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sloppy serum I was interested in trying to Dermaveen skin removal facial serum because I am in search of a serum that is nursing yet light. Unfortunately I was left disappointed with the Dermaveen serum. Why? Because of how it felt on my skin putting it on but also how it fel after sinking in. Like it’s foaming cleanser neither the renewal facial serum felt very gooey and sloppy when applying it to my face. On the numerous times that I used the product after all my other beauty routine steps I was continually left with excess greasy serum that I needed to wipe off the excess with a towel just so I could focus on using it on my skin. I will say that it did absorb well following the application. Whilst it was a light feeling I could feel after the first few try’s that my skin felt smoother and more radiant

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight & Absorbs I used the Dermaveen Face Serum, along with the Dermaveen Hydrating Facial Moisturiser & Dermaveen Foaming Facial Cleanser, as part of my skincare routine for the last month. I have to say that my favourites of the three were the Foaming cleanser & the Face Serum. The Face Serum is super lightweight & absorbed into my skin instantly, leaving no residue! It's a brilliantly hydrating little bottle that can be applied before make up application as well. I would have liked the serum to have a smell though, generally speaking, I think nice smelling face serums make you feel as though you're really treating your face to something healthy & good, whereas this product has no smell at all. I also haven't noticed any reduction in wrinkles or fine lines. However, the size is small enough to fit into a purse, so can be taken everywhere. It is really fast at absorbing, so it is clearly nourishing & moisturising any of my dry patches quickly. I do feel as though my face is definitely not as dry as it was, before I started using the Dermaveen products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Budget friendly serum As someone who is nearing 40 and definitely has signs of aging I make sure a serum is part of my skin care routine. I usually opt for a serum oil as I have very dry skin, so I was quite curious to try this DermaVeen serum gel. I liked the pump dispenser as it was easy to control the amount you're pumping out. The consistency is a liquid gel that spreads surprisingly far with a little amount. I found scent was subtle and inoffensive, it doesn't really smell like anything. The serum absorbed easily and quickly but I did find it felt a little sticky until it completely sunk in. It also felt quite firming as it absorbed. While I'm not sure I'd re-purchasd this myself I (as I do prefer an oily serum) think it's a great option for someone on a budget that wants a nice simple hydrating serum that is good for sensitive skin. After using this serum for a few weeks I have noticed my skin is definitely feeling and looking more hydrated and clear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good moisturising serum for anyone who wants to add a serum into their regime The packaging is quite simple and basic. The product is housed in a 30mL pump bottle which dispenses a decent amount of product with each pump. It's not too hard to control how much you want and I like how hygenic the pump is. The serum contains no fragrance, however I could detect a soft "Dermaveen" scent that is found in some of it's other products (moisturiser and cleanser). The serum has a watery consistency and absorbs quite quickly into the skin without leaving an oily residue. I have dry to normal sensitive skin and I found that I did not have any reactions to the product. I tried using it twice a day to begin with but then I eventually changed to using it once a day because I felt like it made my makeup a little too slippery. I found that I enjoyed using the serum because it left my skin feeling adequately soft and moisturised. I had a small flaky, red patch on my left cheek prior to using the product, but personally I didn't really notice the flaky patch improving. As I only used the serum for a few weeks, maybe it'll require longer term use in order to see results. I think that this is a good basic serum for anyone who wants to add to their skincare regime and has dry, normal or sensitive skin. As it is so affordable, I would recommend giving it a go, but personally there are other serums that just have more of an effect on my skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Moisturising, gentle serum I have been using this serum in conjunction with the foaming cleanser and moisturiser from DermaVeen. I have used serums in the past, but have found them difficult to incorporate into my routine, as I don’t ever feel like they make much a difference? Since using this one, I have noticed my skin has become more supple and moisturised – having dry skin, this is fantastic. The serum comes in a pump bottle, and it’s easy to pump out the required amount. The serum itself is a clear gel, with extremely faint, natural smelling scent. Upon application, it does feel a little sticky on my skin, but that dissipates. It is supposed to combat wrinkles, but I haven’t noticed any reduction in the fine lines I have. I did like that is a budget-friendly serum that is quite moisturising, and I will continue to pick this up for when my skin needs some TLC and moisture boost!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unsure about this I'm not sure what the purpose of this serum is. The label says it is hydrating, but I found that I needed to use heaps of product to get it spread all over my face, and it soaked in very quickly and was drying. The packaging is nice. I would say that the pump is handy - but like the facial foaming cleanser and the hydrating moisturiser, it probably might've been a bit nicer in a tube too- making it even better for travel. It is very easy to pump the product out of the bottle. You have total control over how much you pump out which is amazing! On the hand, the product feels gel-like and has a thicker consistency, but when you begin rubbing it in, it feels almost water like. It spreads easily, though it doesn't go far. It dries very quickly too. The scent of the product is more pungent than the foaming cleanser but still smells oaty/baby product like, which I don't particularly like for a facial serum. A serum to me is a bit of luxurious "if I have the time" step, and this, while time efficient due to how quickly it dries just does not have any luxury feel about it. ' After application, my skin felt dry, but nourished, but also craving more hydration from a moisturiser.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little too sticky for my liking I was hoping to find a new serum for my skincare routine but unfortunately, Dermaveen’s Skin Renewal Facial Serum is not the answer I was looking for. I found that the product felt sticky on my face, no matter how much I used or how long I waited for it to sink in. I noticed that the product felt heavy on my skin, which is the opposite of how I wanted my skin to feel. It never seemed to sink into my skin as other serums I’ve used have. I did enjoy the smell of the facial serum and liked the way it was able to be easily spread on my face. I didn’t notice any discoloring on my face either, which some products will do. I also do feel that the facial serum helped the appearance of my skin, so it is a little two sided - I liked the results I got from the serum but found it hard to wear, and therefore it would be difficult for me to incorporate this into my daily routine in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dermaveen Skin Renewal Face Serum Dermaveen Skin Renewal Face Serum comes boxed with a clear 30ml glass bottle and a dropper within the golden lid. Upon opening the product it had a very subtle scent, with Dermaveen known for its pH balancing properties I expected as much and was quite excited to trial the serum. The serum was a little watery though made for fast absorption. As someone with sensitive and fair skin It seemed to reduce redness and the dryness of my skin without any irritation. Although I only used the serum once a day at night, not adhering to the twice a day product directions. My skin over the last three weeks has started feeling hydrated, soft and smooth. Please note; I did use this product in conjunction with the Dermaveen Hydrating Facial Moisturiser and Dermaveen Daily Nourish Facial Foaming Cleanser. All three products were new to my routine and replaced my usual routine. My results were based off using all three products. It's best to use the product within 12months of opening it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does feel nice though I have always been a big fan of Dermaveen skin care products, and with having eczema all my life, I am always on the lookout for gentle, yet nourishing products to try. So, I was lucky enough to be included on the Dermaveen 3-step Trial Team. Included in the Dermaveen trial was the Skin Renewal Facial Serum. I have been using this since Christmas week (hoping it would rescue me from all visible signs of what had been a very LONG year at work) and I must admit I quite enjoyed adding an extra step into my morning skincare routine, it made me feel like I was successfully adulting! The serum is quite light and not at all oily feeling. I felt that one pump was enough, as it spreads very nicely and absorbs pretty evenly, leaving a really nice and smooth skin feel. However, I definitely felt like I needed to moisturise, as it did not feel all that hydrating for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little strange Thanks, BH, for the opportunity to review the DermaVeen Skin Renewal Face Serum! Due to the change in seasons, my face was quite dry, so it seemed like great timing for this trial, and a potential match made in heaven. Alas not... I wanted so much to like this DermaVeen range; Australian made, hypoallergenic, paraben free, fragrance free...sounds great in print, but not so wonderful on my skin, unfortunately. The serum itself, a generous 30ml, in a standard white plastic pump pack with clear lid, is easy to dispense, and has a vast amount of information contained on the outer cardboard box. There are no surprises there, and the ingredients listed sounded very promising for anyone with parched skin, ie, hyaluronic acid, provitamin B5, and betaglucan sourced from colloidal oatmeal. The actual serum is clear, with no discernible fragrance, however, I found it to be quite thin and watery in consistency. After applying two pumps of the serum over my face, it disappeared almost immediately, and I was left with a strangely tight sensation on my skin. It wasn't irritating, but it felt like my face had contracted into a mask. If I touched my face with my fingertips, it felt soft, but from the inside, it felt tight and a little disconcerting. I would definitely vouch for the serum being non irritating, but moisturising? No, definitely not for my skin. It does not feel like it exists after a few seconds, apart from the sensation of tightness.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Skin aborbs very quickly I wasn't expecting too much from this Face serum, as I usually invest a bit of money in facial serums in the past, and know that this step can be the most important when drying to revive your skin from looking like death. I love the pump application and only a small pump is needed to cover the entire face. No smell which is great, since some of the more expensive serums have a really strong lingering smell. Within in a minute it dissolves into your skin, and the skin feels really tight. I feel like it doesn't hydrate my skin, as I have really dry skin, but I think it does a great job in tightening the face. Althought I am in my late 20's and don't really stress too much about fine lines, I feel this serum would be great for women with more mature skin. Overall, it is a quick absorbing face serum, but you would definetly need to use the DermaVeen moisteriser after as it feels a little too tight on the skin after application.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not hydrating enough Dermaveen Skin Renewal Facial Serum claims to nourish and restore dry skin. And provides intense hydration. Unfortunately for me it failed to do this for my skin. I suffer from dry skin so i was really looking forward to trying it. Starting with the positives , the packaging is simple and elegant , I love the pump dispenser , it allows me to control how much product I want to use . A pea size amount is enough to spread over entire face. The clear serum feels really nice on skin when applied and is fragrance free. Within a few minutes after I have applied the serum my skin is really tight and feels dry. I hated the way my skin felt after using it but continued anyway along with the cleanser and moisturiser. Really disappointed in this product. Now the trial has ended I won't be using the serum anymore.
Date published: 2019-01-13
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure it did much I have a few fine lines on my face. After using this product for over a month I can't really see a difference in their appearance. I am new to incorporating a serum in my daily skin care routine but I am really time poor and after just a month of using it, don't totally understand the value of including a serum in my regime. I understand it delivers intense hydration, but considering I moisturize twice a day and regularly use facial masks, I'm not sure I need it. I can see how this could be of value for someone who wants to prevent wrinkles and fine lines OR if you have seriously neglected your skins hydration an need urgent help then this product would be for you. Other than this I can say that the pump makes the product easy to apply, but the serum is a little thicker and doesn't absorb very fast which is a little frustrating when I need to apply moisturizer straight after. This one is not for me but I can see how it could be very relevant for others.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for dry skin I really wanted to like the Dermaveen Skin Renewal Face Serum. I loved their skin cleanser but this one just didn't do it for me. This serum is dermatologically tested and contains hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin. It contains no artificial fragrances or preservatives. This ticks all the boxes and it should have been a dream for my dry and sensitive skin. But unfortunately my skin just didn't react well to it. I very quickly noticed the pores around my nose became much more pronounced after only a few days of use. My skin also appeared duller than usual (not as hydrated and glowy). It's weird but my pores went back to normal very quickly once I stopped using this serum. It just didn't seem moisturising enough for me especially for night time and in collaboration with the dermaveen moisturiser. I think people with normal skin might enjoy this serum more. It sinks into the skin really quickly and doesn't leave any sticky feeling. I love that it's made in Australia and the price point is really good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't work for me I so wanted to like this product because I really liked the two other Dermaveen products we received to review, but unfortunately this one didn't grab me. It's a lightweight serum that's like a gel in texture but it spreads on contact with skin and becomes almost as thin as water. I love a thin serum so that's a plus, but unfortunately this product doesn't absorb properly into my skin. What I've found with this is that my skin always feels dry underneath it, although admittedly I have dry skin so you mightn't have this issue if you have normal or oily skin. I think what's happening is that the product isn't sinking in properly; instead it's leaving a slightly sticky coating on my skin, which is why it isn't nourishing enough for me personally. On that, my moisturiser can't penetrate over the top of this serum so my skin feels dry for the whole day when I use this, which has meant that I started needing to put a lightweight oil down first during the testing period. Also, a couple of times I tried adding a little more product than I normally would to see if that helped with hydration, but all I found was that this product balled up when I went to put my primer or tinted moisturiser over the top. In sum, this product doesn't work for me, but I'm happy with the other two Dermaveen products I've tested so it's been a positive experience overall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did nothing for me This serum had some initial good points going for it - unfortunately, it just didn't pan out to do what it said, in fact, it did exactly nothing. It didn't make my skin feel any better, or any worse - it was just a whole lot of, nothing. I'll start with the first impressions, which were the best. I noticed the serum was very lightweight and easily spread across the skin. I'm definitely not a fan of heavy serums especially those that seem to leave your skin feeling sticky. This did leave my skin feeling a little tacky, but not excessively so. A little goes a long way, as it should with a serum, but I unfortunately just could not get past the fact that it really did nothing. Some more pros are, it doesn't have any obvious or offensive scents, it didn't seem to react with my skin in a negative way, but it just didn't do anything beneficial either. I'm not sure if it's a product that needs to be used regularly for a long period of time to see any results, but for me, anything that boasts 'intense hydration' should have an immediate effect. For a budget friendly line of skin care, they may have gone too budget on this one, unfortunately. Sorry.
