Rated 5 out of 5 by from An absolute favorite How do I get through my day without it? I dont. Its got a lovely menthol smell, and when applied has a tingly sensation. Unlike the Blistex equivalent, I find this product a little heavier, which means longer lasting and better relief from dry or chapped lips. Great for wearing alone or under lipstick. Perhaps the only drawback is the lack of sun protection. I prefer the small tub to the tube options in this range as it means more control over application.

I always had problems with dry, cracked and burning chapped lips, so this little pot was always in the pocket of my school uniform. The balm is so soft, smooth and soothing for the lips and intensely conditions them, providing immediate relief. Also, I find the scent of the product to be highly pleasing, and almost comforting in a way. Putting this on your lips is just such a comforting and relieving feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the entire Carmel range This is the product I had been using for years!<br />Before this I would use the Lucas paw paw ointment cream, quite a popular product that came in a red tube, I found that using paw paw would make my lips moisturised but only until the paw paw ointment went away, after that they would go back to being chapped and dry so I had to keep regularly applying .<br />With Carmel I need to apply it once or twice a day for hydrated lips

I have baby soft lips in the morning. There is no residue left behind but your lips do tingle slightly, which makes your lips more plump and kiss-worthy! Also, I only use their tub version as their stick version made my lips crack and bleed so I'm probably allergic to the stick formula.

It brings my lips back to life in an instant and is a great all night treatment for lip rejuvenation. I always have one handy in the car to remind me of application before my lips even need a saviour. It's great for the guys too.. it's the only lip treatment my fiancé' will use on his lips.

I graduated from Lip Smackers to this and just cant get excited by any other type of balm since! I remember being SO EXCITED finding Carmex in tubes in the states back in 2003, they were only a few dollars, too! I also remember peeling the labels off the tubs when they were imported and then stuck on - i was so shocked to find they were only $1 or $2.99 in the States and we would pay nearly $5 for them. I just love the texture, the ingredients (I don't notice the tingle anymore) and this would HAVE to be on my list of stranded-on-a-deserted-island-products (along with a hat, suncream and fresh water!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tingles the best way It does tingle a little, especially in cooler weather but it works. Lips dont stick together, its not slippery. It does moisturise and its basic but efficient. I like how it doesnt really have a taste, unlike some that taste overly perfumed or flavoured. It pretty much smooths on and I feel like it absorbs fairly quickly. I use it twice a day and that seems to be enough. I dont feel like I need to use my lush popcorn lip scrub anymore.

I use this daily because it protects and nourishes my lips and provides enough gloss and shine to pass off as a cosmetic balm too. I've been using this for about 10 years and never tire of it because it is just so reliable. I know the methol annoys a lot of people but I honestly like the tingly sensation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HG status For a long time I was using the medicated balm by Blistex, that was effective for some time, I would apply it when i had super chapped lips and in the morning it would all flake away but eventually it stopped being effective. Changed to this Carmex pot, which is a lot thicker in consistency, a bit greasy. However it applies clear and has stayed effective for the last 2 years I have used it, I went from having seriously chapped flaky lips in Winter to nothing at all!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite lip balm year round This is my absolute favourite lip balm year round, I have extremely dry lips which get cracked if they're not moisturised for more than an hour, and this is one of the Intel products I have found that I can apply before bed and my lips will still feel moisturised and soft in the morning when I wake up. I use this product every night before bed (even in the summer months!), in winter it is an absolute must!

I have since tried other lip balms but nothing can beat Carmex so I keep returning to use it. Your lips can be so chapped but after a day or so of using Carmex your lips will be smooth and moisturised. I tend to apply Carmex just before I got to bed to ensure I don't wake up with dry cracked lips. So Carmex is definitely part of my nightly beauty routine.

I carry this product pretty much everywhere with me and I am always reapplying it whenever I get the chance.<br />It is very nourishing and hydrating and could fix your chapped lips in a matter of seconds. This lip balm always leaves me with beautiful soft, smooth lips and makes it easier for me to apply lipsticks/lipglosses on top of it.<br />This balm is a must for Winter especially, as it helps protect your lips from getting damaged from the harsh cold winds.

Thank you for exsisting!<br />I have a pot of carmex in my car, baby bag, handbag, bedside table, bathroom, hubby has one in his work bag & golf bag! This lip balm has saved me on so many occasions I always make sure I have one on hand! This lip balm not only moisturisers but it also conditions/softens lips!<br />I love the original old school packaging keeping true to its roots, a quality product doesn't need fancy packaging the product speaks for its self! My husband is an underground miner and swears by carmex it stops him from getting dried chapped or split lips from the climate underground and the packaging isn't too out there so he can pull it out and not have to worry!

I've tried a lot of lip balms (for some reason, people keep getting me to try others), but often they dry out my lips or just don't give long lasting balminess. They haven't changed their packaging for years, and I like that, because I've had one or two (or six) stashed around the house and my husband & daughter know that they can get a good balm fix wherever they get found.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moisturising on the lips I love this lip balm it's amazing, makes my lips feel softer and the balm stayed on my lips longer then others. I've tried so many lip balms but I have to say this is the best. I love how it tingles when applied to dry and chapped lips. My only downside with this lip balm isn't ideal from a hygiene perspective. The scent is nice smells like strawberries but it doesn't taste very good at all. Once you have tried it you will always carry it in your bag, it's one of my must have products.

My last one ran out a little too quickly as my partner was also fond of using it! The formula immediately works to soothe dry, irritated or chapped lips and heals them within no time. The formula is relatively thick (but not in an uncomfortable way) so it lasts quite long time on the lips without needing to be reapplied. I often find lipsticks dry out or irritate my lips so I put a little of this on beforehand and the application is much more comfortable.

I also find that my lips feel moisturised for longer. Dry skin doesn't build up on my lips. Finally, I like the tingly feeling when you apply.

This is one of the best and most long lasting hydration and lip protection I've tried among many lip balms. It's not glanced up with fruity flavours or smells, but it does what it's meant to do. Unlike some others I've tried this one seems to penetrate the dryness on my lips more deeply and last longer. I still apply it a few times a day as a preventative measure, but can certainly be used for healing those very dry lips too. The tub application style can be a bit messier than tube chap sticks, but it's worth it to have a product that actually works. The menthol is nice and soothing. A great product for men and women.

I don't know if that's even what it's supposed to be for, but I've used this for as long as I can remember. The original scent is OK but you can get other flavours if it bothers you anyway. Provides quick and long lasting releif from dry, chapped or sun damaged lips. Also helps to control cold sores if you get them. The packaging is great for when you need to smother it on as it allows you to apply heavily with your finger or just to apply lightly. I also use it as lip gloss along with lip liner.

Turned out to be my best purchase that day! I was a little put off by the packaging to be honest, it looks so outdated and not very pretty to carry around. The content inside, however, changed my whole opinion. I have no idea why, but every time I scrub my lips and apply lip balm immediately afterwards, after a few minutes my lips feel very dry and patchy. Carmex changed everything. Now my lips stay hydrated and it helps my lipstick go on very smooth and no dry patches whatsoever throughout the day. It is kind of minty and feels very cooling on the lips. It has a very thick texture but I immediately feel my lips are protected and when I apply it at night, I wake up with it still on my lips in the morning. I'll keep purchasing this little gem of a product and hope they update the packaging at some stage.

After years of soul searching for that magical lipgloss that does the trick, I've finally found Carmex! The little jar keeps my lip moist, hydrated and without cracking through all four seasons in a year! It is definitely the one you will want to keep at home and on the go!

Keeps my lips nice and moist, especially in winter and stays on for ages! My absolute favorite beauty product, I make sure to have a pot close to me at all times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite lip balm This has to be my all time favourite lip balm. I especially love it during winter. It works great on very dry lips. I also love the menthol feeling you get when using this product. After using this, my lips become moisturised instantly. Also, this product is long lasting so I don't have to keep reapplying it. Some people might have a problem with the packaging and might think it is not hygienic. But for me, I just make sure that my fingers are always clean before using it. I also really love the packaging because its very portable and the yellow colour is very iconic.

It really does help improve any dry lips. The packaging is not convenient when using this product on the go, since sticking your fingers in the jar is not that hygienic. So I usually put it on at home before going out.

It keeps them smooth and supple for many hours, despite my severally cracked and dry lips before I began to use this product. The lip balm also gives a very satisfying tingly feeling, which I do enjoy. Since its in a jar form, I like to keep it at home next to my bed for ease of use. Cons: Many people think the jar form is unhygienic since you're constantly dipping your fingers into the pot. However, I do try to make sure I've washed my hands before handling the lip balm, so I don't see this as a major issue. Overall: Definitely go out to buy it - one of my favourite lip balms of all times. Depending on how hygiene-conscious you are, you many want to opt for the squeeze tube version (same formula, different packaging)

It conditions, repairs, smoothes and soothes cracks, dryness, and flakey lips. I assume it works wonders on coldsores just as it says it does.

This is a cult product for a reason - it's a product that both works at preventing chapped & irritated lips, or if I have them, works hard at healing them - I don't know any better balm to help distressed lips return to healthy lips. It tingles when it goes on, and you can feel it working as soon as it's applied. It has a fairly neutral taste, with a slight hint of menthol. Quite pleasant & neutral. It's also good value for money, one of these pots lasts through months of regular use. Holy grail lip treatment!

I've been using it ever since & that was about 12 years ago! I like the menthol smell although it might not be to everyone's taste. It keeps my lips soft & supple, is inexpensive & lasts for ages!
