Knowing how to apply sunscreen is crucial for ensuring your skin is properly protected to help prevent sun damage.
  • Firstly, make sure you apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before going into the sun.
  • Secondly, use approximately 7 NIVEA measuring spoons or 35ml for a full body application to adequately protect your body from sun damage.
  • Remember to reapply sunscreen lotion every two hours, and immediately after sweating, swimming and towel drying off.

    The sun can be harmful due to Ultra Violet (UV) ray exposure, so the SPF component of sunscreen measures the level of UVA/UVB protection offered.

    SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. Every skin type has a different length of time until it burns in the sun. SPF 15 extends that time by 15, SPF 30 extends that time by 30 and SPF 50 extends that time by at least 50 times.

    There are however multiple factors that also affect your level of protection, such as how much sunscreen you apply, the weather and if you have been sweating or swimming. Remember to stay covered with sun protetive clothing/hats, apply sunscreen with an SPF50 rating and reapply regularly.

I love this because it doesn't have that sunscreen smell and it applies just like a moisturizer, not oily at all. That's really what I look for in a sunscreen and this really delivers. I don't mind applying it because I know it won't make me breakout.

But with nivea, even if I spend a day at the beach, as long as reapply every few hours, I don't even go slightly red! It's amazingly waterproof as well, it doesn't come off in streaks or float to the top to make you look white. On a normal summer day, I use this to stop my neck and shoulders from burning. It works 100% even if I just apply in the morning

As I am fair skinned i normally burn very easily but with this there was no sunburn at all (unless i forgot to apply it). This doesn't; feel like other sunscreens when you apply it, it actually feels like a moisturizer. Very happy with this will definitely keep using.

Goes on a tad milky but 'clears' up after about half an hour. You can't tell you have sunscreen on except that your skin looks nicely moisturised.

Personally for me it felt really thick and heavy, it was too sticky for my dry skin and it really annoyed me being with it in the sun. The protection from the sun was great , I did not burn but I prefer something that is lighter on the skin.

Although it's not SPF 50, it still provides adequate protection during the winter months, but I prefer more protection during the summer. It doesn't smell terrible, but it can be a little sticky and this, as well as greasy. It doesn't dry me out and doesn't cause any reactions. Not sure if i'd apply it on my face as it can get greasy.

I use this sunscreen when I know I'm going to be in the sun alot. So far I haven't had any sun burns even after spending a December in the hot climates of Limpopo. It feels a little sticky at first but eventually goes away. I feel like it does moisturize my skin Abit since my skin has felt much softer after using this. I would definitely repurchase

Together with me on a tropical holiday, my 400ml bottle worked well - keeping my skin sunscreen-hydrated and soft without the slimy slides on car seats going down to the beach. The bottle itself travelled well unlike my other pump/ spray bottles as the simple flip cap kept the product intact until I needed it. HOWEVER I have to express my shock at seeing my hard earned tan disappear under the pasty yelloweywhite texture of the cream once applied. No matter how hard I rubbed it in, I couldn't get my tan to reappear. I felt forlorn laying on the beach under this pasty washout and could only reassure myself it was either this or the lobster look!

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality sunscreen I found this sunscreen to be great at protecting my skin from being sun burnt but it wasn't great on my face as I broke out the next day.<br />It is quite a thick lotion which is great for protection, but it is too thick to use on the face. I would suggest to use this product as a body sunscreen and then use a lighter formula lotion for your face unless you can handle the thick creams.

This one is good for the kids as I know it has a high coverage, water resistant and is moisturising. I like the flip lid, less mess, which is always good around the beach and sand. It's easy for the kids to apply too.

Great for if you're planning to go to the beach or something, but it was a bit iffy for me for everyday use. Also, I remember it smelled REALLY bad - perhaps theyve changed the formula since then?

It takes a while to absorb and can leave a greasy feel on the skin which isn't a pleasant feeling. Touch wood, I have never been burned when using this product. So I will stick to this product for a while until I can find a less greasier version.

With a subtle scent and light creamy texture, it is long lasting and kept my skin moisturised all day. A little goes a long way. My skin felt softer after applying and if used regularly I think this product would add sun protection to a beauty routine. I am sensitive to many products however observed no ill effects from this product. I would buy it again.

It leaves my skin feeling moisturised without that greasy residue that most sunscreens have. I would definately recommend this for people who burn quite easily and are looking for extra sun protection.

In saying that I do usually use a different one on my face anyway. It is rare to be able to find a reasonably priced product that is not too greasy for the face. This sunscreen is a bit too thick & greasy for my liking. Their Light Feel Every Day Sun Lotion is a lot better that this one.
