Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gentle and safe for irritated, sensitive skin This product is targeted for sensitive, irritated skin and is sometimes recommended by dermatologists. It is a non-foaming wash-off cleanser without any fragrance or SLS. It is indeed very gentle but don't expect it to remove stubborn waterproof sunscreen or make-up. However, it is safe to use if you are having a flare-up or your skin feels irritated. It doesn't dry out your skin or leave a stripping feeling. It is reasonably-priced and comes in various sizes up to 1L if you want to use it on your body as well. Personally I prefer to use Cerave's range of cleansers for the face which are more effective and just as gentle.

It cleanses and moisturised my face and body, leaving it feeling clean and soft. I found that my skin retained moisture well, without stripping it dry. It's non-comedogenic, meaning it won't block your pores, and it also won't sting your eyes. A great cleanser for all skin types. The only thing I didn't love was that it didn't foam up at all. This doesn't detract from the effectiveness of the product, it's just something I prefer when using a cleanser.

The smell is unpleasant and I could feel the difference straight away. For the first time in 20 years I am contemplating trying a different brand. Very disappointing.

I cannot find anything to wash my face with, surely as a company you realise the mistake of changing the formula? I used to rave about Cetaphil and it's just so bad now, its a shame that there is no listening to the very clear complaints. Disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The new formula is terrible! I have been using cetaphil face cleanser for 25 years and have always been very happy with it. This ‘new & improved’ version is terrible! It’s smells funky, leaves a stinky residue on my face washer, and doesn’t leave the same clean, gentle, soft feel of the original formula. Why would you mess with a good thing? Please, please bring back the original formula! I cannot buy your product any more. Absolutely devastated to have to find a new cleanser after all these years. Why do companies do this to their incredibly loyal customers?

The sense of smell is a powerful one and an instant arbiter of purchasing decisions. The smell is so bad that I will switch to another product even though I've used Cetaphil for more than 20 years.

The new one smells like it has gone off, very similar to the smell of vomit. It is disgusting and I don't know how it got past your quality control team. I will never buy it again because the smell is intolerable.

I attach the old formula photo to you for identify purpose. By using the new formula cleanser, i lost the feeling of the used good product. Please change back to the old formula or let your customer/user to choose the new or old formula to buy. I do not like the new changed formula at all. It is not the same product to me.

The new formula smells like soap and feels terrible on my skin. I WILL NEVER buy this new formula again, bring back the perfect product you had, if not you have lost me as a customer.

I have been using this cleanser for 30 years at the recommendation of my dermatologist and all of my adult children have grown up with the pump pack in the shower and they miss it too! The new formula has a really unpleasant smell while using and leaves the skin feeling like it has been cleaned with soap. I cannot believe that I will now have to find a new cleanser.
