General Information

The nuk micro express plus steam steriliser provides a quick and gentle method of sterilising your baby's bottles and accessories without the need for harsh chemicals. using the hospital method of steam sterilisation the steriliser is fast and effective, sterilising and disinfecting up to 4 feeding bottles plus accessories in 4 minutes. the nuk microwave steriliser is suitable for most commercially available feeding bottles and microwaves and is convenient for sterilising baby's bottles whilst travelling. the steriliser is really quick and easy to use, just add water to the bottom, arrange the bottles and accessories, then place in the microwave between 4 and 7 minutes, dependant on the wattage of your microwave. 4 minutes at 1000 watts, 5 minutes at 800-950 watts and 7 minutes at 500-750 watts.the lid will enclose the products in the steriliser. please note: the lid must not be used to carry the steriliser, hold the steriliser from the base to prevent spillage. use: carefully wash and rinse bottles and accessories. remove the lid of the steriliser and poor 200ml water into the base of the microwave steam steriliser (warning! it is essential to use a measuring jug to ensure the 200ml capacity is adhered to exactly, otherwise the microwave steam steriliser may be damaged.) put the bottles upside down in the openings provided in the bottle holder and arrange the accessories over the remaining surface. close the lid of the steriliser. to ensure the lid is properly locked, check that the markings are aligned. put the steriliser in the microwave oven and set to the relevant power and time. do not exceed the time quotes. (warning! to prevent any scalding from hot steam or hot moisture, wait 5 minutes before removing from the microwave oven.) to open the steriliser easily, turn the lid until the latch opens. the remove the lid. ensure you protect your hands adequately. cleaning and disinfecting: to avoid any lime scale deposits, dry the steriliser with a cloth after every use. the steriliser can be cleaned using warm, soapy water. if you have to remove lime scale use diluted household vinegar.

We also have a standard microwave and don’t have an issue with it fitting in.

My only negative is that the instructions tell you to measure a specific amount of water, but it doesn’t come with a jug or a “fill to here” line on the base which would be very useful. Should fit all microwaves, mine is small and fit no problem.

It is super easy even for beginners to use so all my families can use the system without experiencing any difficulties. I also notice that it is less likely to leave stains - a great choice for those who hates leaving disguisting marks on the machine.

It is quick and easy to use and easy enough to clean. Just be mindful when removing it from the microwave it is hot and care should be taken when removing it from the microwave and the care should be taken when removing bottle contents from the steriliser.

I loved it so much and looking to buy another one as recently I damaged the lid when I placed the lid on hot stove in the morning during school drop off rush.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to use for sterilising bottles and pump part for our bottle fed newborn. It is poorly designed, as it’s very hard to do it up/undo it when it’s wet (and it’s a steriliser, it is always wet!). The design makes it impossible to remove from the microwave without either burning your fingers or using an oven mitt- but there aren’t any handles so if you use a mitt it slips out of your hands. Also there isn’t a way to open it once it’s done to allow it to vent out the steam faster (important if you are pumping and need the parts to cool off fairly quickly) so you end up with regular steam burns. We used this one for 3 weeks before we got so frustrated we ended up buying a different brand that has latches on the sides, which has eliminated all our issues. Basically, don’t waste your money on this product.

Not to mention this is dangerous to use. Has no handles to remove from the microwave. So prepare for burns. Have used oven mits to remove but that does nothing to stop the steam
