General Information

I jumped at the opportunity to trial this product as I was not blessed in the hair department and have always had extremely fine textured hair which is so difficult to manage. I have tried a million products to thicken, plump and bodify - but to no avail. Then this one came along. The spray within this range is literally the cherry on the top. It adds a whole nother layer to your hair follicle, and leaves it feeling thicker, fuller and stronger. Love this spray. It has changed the way I feel about my hair.

I was not blessed in the hair department and have always had extremely fine textured hair which is so difficult to manage. I have tried a million products to thicken, plump and bodify - but to no avail. Then this one came along. As I said, I was a bit sceptical - but I really did feel a change in the overall texture and thickness of my hair. I used this in conjunction with the thickening conditioner and the thickening spray - and the three together were an awesome team. Well priced, easily available and actually work really well! I am officially converted.

The thickening spray comes in a small spray bottle with a spray nozzle. The product came out okay. I applied it in my roots before letting it air dry and also before I wanted to blow dry my hair. I found that the spray added some extra lift in my roots. After a day or two I would also spray it again on my roots for extra volume. The product has the typical John Freida scent like the other matching products in the range. I enjoy the effect it has on my hair and will continue to use it. I am interested in finding out what the effect of continued use will be. It also paired beautifully with the other products in the Profiller range.

The shampoo comes in a large squeeze tube which made it very easy to dispense and use. It has the typical John Freida scent. I shampooed twice as I usually do with my shampoo as I wash my hair twice a week. I have thin and flat Asian hair and I found that this shampoo added some noticeable volume and lift to the roots which I enjoyed. It appeared to make my hair more thick. I air dried my hair and the scent of the shampoo did not linger. I will continue using this shampoo and would recommend to anyone looking to add some volume and lift to their hair. It also paired beautifully with the other products in the Profiller range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Full [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t think it was possible to have a light but fuller head of hair but with John Frieda’s PROfiller plus Thickening Shampoo that is exactly what you get. It lathers up beautifully in the shower and you don’t need to use a significant amount per wash. Given that it all a silicon free helps with ensuring that your hair keeps that light feeling. The two key ingredients of biotin and hyaurlauric acid, seem to be the magic ingredients that give this shampoo the edge and properties to do it’s thickening and filling job. I recommend that the washing routine is followed with John Friedas PROfiller plus Thickening Conditioner to get the best results. As an additional bonus, this Shampoo smells amazing in the bottle and then in your hair.

This was the BEST out of the 3 in the entire process. My hair feels like velvet, so soft, silky and light but also full of volume and thick and very strong. I would 100% repurchase this product at my local supermarket. It also works perfect for detangling and makes my hair a lot more manageable. I placed my hair back up in an old t shirt after I apply this to allow it to do it’s think before I blowdried it and styled it.

My hair feels very luxurious, thick and healthy. I would purchase it again if I saw it in my local supermarket, it’s priced very well. It removes oils from the hair without stripping it, leaves your hair feeling velvety, sleek and tangle free and my fly always seem a lot more manageable as well. I have found that my hair is lasting between washes and I’m not having to apply any dry shampoo on the second day to the roots which is amazing ( I hair wash every 3rd day any more or less and my hair is gross)

It didn't do much in terms of any added moisture, so I had to use it in conjunction with a hair serum. I don't think it made any difference to the thickness of my hair. It is of a very watery consistency. I like the spray nozzle because it releases a nice fine mist which doesn't just spit the product onto my hair. And most of all I love the smell...too bad it doesn't last. Out of the three products in the range, I like this one the most. I would probably buy this if it shows a big difference in the heat protection for my hair.

In my mind, it is a brand that delivers quality products. As such I am not surprised that this hair spray is a good one as well. I used to use the hair volumizer from l'occitane and found this one works better. It did not make my hair sticky or leave a residual. Instead it just volumizes the hair and helps keep your blow dry in shape for longer if you use it before doing that. On top of that it smells nice and pleasant, which gives you a mood boost for the day.

In my mind, it is a brand that delivers quality products. As such I am not surprised that this shampoo is a good one as well. It comes in a handy squeezy tube that is compact and easy to use. It smells nice and lathers very well. After a few uses, I noticed that it helped with the oil control of my hair which in turn volumized the hair. I would recommend this product to people with any hair type as I can imagine it works well for everyone.

After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I squeeze out excess water from the hair using my old cotton T-shirt and let the hair air dry. Then I take out sections and apply on the roots of my hair section by section let it sit for awhile. After, this I start combing my hair using wide toothed hair comb and gently move the product from the roots to tips of my hair. let my hair air dry more and finally using hair dryer fix my hair. I have noticed oomph of volume and hair is thickened on the first day of hair wash but then gradually hair starts becoming little flat which does not bother me much as its my time to wash my hair again. The fragrance is not too strong or overpowering.

The shampoo is hydrating as no stripping of natural oils from the hair and does not make the scalp dry or itchy as my scalp is on sensitive side. The fragrance is not too strong. Love that it is silicone free and not tested on the animals. As suggested for the usage, I washed my hair with warm water as generally I tend to wash with little tepid water. It lathers well and makes the hair feel clean. A small amount of shampoo with water goes long way as it does not require alot. Highly recommend. Great for dry, thin and limp hair to give bounce and volume to hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use spray for thick looking hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this spray to work best on my hair on days I wanted to bring out my curls and waves, which this definitely helped to highlight and even emphasise. When I used this on my roots, I definitely noticed a voluminising effect as my hair is fine and it can lay flat on my scalp. It works even better when you blow dry. I think this would make a great product to those who have curly or wavy hair and you want to make sure there's less frizz and your curls will be more defined. That was my favourite use, I'd use this on damp hair after washing and conditioning, then brush it out and scrunch my hair gentyly from the bottom. My hair would then dry in loose curls and not be crunchy but soft. Make sure not to use too much. This would work as a holding spray of curly hair. My hair can dry straight or wavy depending on the weather so I found this to be the most interesting product as I suddenly had very nice curls with volume. It made my hair look thicker overall. Using too much made my hair feel like there was noticeable product and it was a bit stiff, so brushing the product out well and then styling works the best. Definitely will repurchase.

It easily foams but is not drying. After using this shampoo I felt like my hair wasn't weighed down which can happen if a shampoo is too thick on my fine hair. It also has a pleasant fragrance that is not overtly floral and gender-neutral which I enjoyed. My hair definitely felt more nourished after use and after styling it felt clean and more voluminous. This was probably my favorite product out of the the shampoo/conditioner/spray that I used, as it felt like a voluminising shampoo that didn't leave my hair and scalp feeling like it was over-stripped and dry.

This spray is definitely my favourite out of the Pro-filler range, and I'll be buying it again in future for sure. I have very fine, thin hair, and because of this I normally have to add dry shampoo after styling my hair just to get some volume in it. After using this spray, it's the first time I haven't had to do so, as my hair had noticeably more volume and didn't fall flat shortly after blow-drying. It also looked very smooth and not at all frizzy, which is a big deal for my hair, to the point where I didn't even feel it necessary to straighten my hair to help deal with the frizz after blow-drying it. Highly recommend!

The trial involved the use of three products - a shampoo, conditioner and a leave in thickening spray- developed especially for fine hair. The thickening spray was my favourite of these as it was the most unique and I really liked the smell, I found it to be quite a soothing scent. The milky spray is the final step in the Profiller system and is applied to towel dried hair and left in. I did find my hair was thicker overall, in that the volume of my hair seemed to be increased. It was a bit more unruly and frizzy, but it was nice to feel like I had more hair! A great product for those of us with fine hair to try.

I have been looking for shampoo to help with my thinning hair. After my first wash I immediately notice the difference in my hair texture. The shampoo has a pleasant fresh fragrance to it. It lathers up really nicely and spreads across my hair easy. I massage it into my scalp and hair with warm water before rinsing. I then go in with the condition. once my hair is dried, my hair is a lot thicker in appearance and feels fuller. I find it best to blow dry out and It styles up really nicely now. I really love using shampoo and recommend it to thinning hair for a more fuller appearance

What I didn't expect was my hair to seem to thicken before I'd even left the shower, and remain that way for days. Hands down better results, faster, than any thickening or volumising treatment or product I've used before. I'm also happy with this products performance as a shampoo, it leaves my hair feeling clean, but not damaged or dry, and doesnt contain any ingredients that leave my hair feeling heavy or weighed down. I have wavey hair, and this product also helped my hair maintain its natural waves, a welcome side bonus. I think the price is very reasonable for the quality of this product, and I would happily repurchase this product again, and probably will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this shampoo absolutely lovely, it lathered up for me just right, the smell is its own unique smell and is just leaves me feeling very clean and completely washed, the package is very eye catching and I liked the idea of using a 3 step routine, with the shampoo and conditioner and leave in thickening spray, I really did notice as advertised a massive notice to my hair after the first wash.I found only using a small amount of the shampoo, conditioner and leave in spray, it gave my thin lac lustre hair more fullness, more bounce which made myself feel better within my self esteem, I would definitely recommend this to anyone to use.

It has the bonus benefit of included heat protection. This spray is great for fine, flat hair or hair that lacks volume. It is lightweight but gives nice thickness and fullness to the hair. Like the rest of the products in this line, it is also vegan and silicone free. It also contains biotin and hyaluronic acid to nourish, plump and thicken the hair, leaving it feeling fuller and more lush. I would recommend the John Frieda PROfiller thickening spray to anyone who wants more voluminous and thicker feeling hair. The spray is affordable and easily available which is an added bonus.

I have fine hair and always want to have more beautiful and thicker hair. I’ve been blown away by the results after just one use. I like the way my hair felt after every wash. It appears and feel thicker, fuller and stronger. When styling I can really see an improvement my hair is filled and holds its style for longer.This shampoo really makes my hair and scalp feel clean but without feeling dry.The smell of this shampoo amazing.It has a light fragrance but not over powering smell. This shampoo lathers really well and easy to wash off. My hair feels hydrated, smooth and easily manageable. I certainly think continued use of this shampoo, conditioner and thickening spray as they are absolutely amazing products and so true the words mentioned on it's package.I would highly recommended it to my family and friends.

It definitely added to making my hair feel thicker. The rich creamy texture of the shampoo and conditioner seemed to coat my hair and make it feel so much fuller and then using the spray seemd to add that little bit more.The fragrance was very pleasant and lasted for quite a while and not too overpowering. After using the shampoo, conditionaer and leave in spray my hair was definiately thicker and softer. I always used the three products in conjunction with one another to get the best effect. I have never used a hair product before that actually makes my hair feel so much thicker but at the same time it didn't weigh it down or feel unnatural. I purchased this product for my daughter to try as she also has very fine hair. She actually used the products on the day she went for her wedding hair trial and loved the results. Even days later she kept being asked if she had extensions in as her hair looked so much thicker. I also use the spray on in between hair wash days - I spray it in and then blow dry which gives my hair a lift and keeps the fullness. After using the shampoo, conditionaer and leave in spray my hair was definiately thicker and softer. I always used the three products in conjunction with one another to get the best effect. I have never used a hair product before that actually makes my hair feel so much thicker but at the same time it didn't weigh it down or feel unnatural. I purchased this product for my daughter to try as she also has very fine hair. She actually used the products on the day she went for her wedding hair trial and loved the results. Even days later she kept being asked if she had extensions in as her hair looked so much thicker. I also use the spray on in between hair wash days - I spray it in and then blow dry which gives my hair a lift and keeps the fullness. I will be repurchasing this product and the leave in spray - love using them all.

The rich creamy testure of the shampoo seemed to coat my hair and make it feel so much fuller. The fragrance was very pleasant and lasted for quite a while and not too overpowering. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping This In my Hair Product Rotation [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So easy to use this -after washing my hair with matching shampoo and conditioner, this spray leave in product gets sprayed all through the hair - especially the roots and lengths. Then I let it air dry as I normally do (my hair dries naturally fast). When it's nearly dried I add a teensy amount of detangler product to my ends and lengths as I need to when using this Profiller range. My hair keeps it's tangles unless I do this with my hair. I don't find this range helps with tangles at all, on it's own. This spray is great that it also acts as a heat protectant if I'm going to curl my hair. It's really easy to get the hair tool through my hair as my hair is not laden with heavy product - that is what I'm finding with this hair range. My hair is normally fine,limp and hard to volumise but this range, including this spray, really gives my hair a natural looking volume and thicker appearance - like I've got a high quality salt spray in it or something. Putting the set of this 3-product Profiller range into my hair rotation works best for me - as in, I like to use this two to three times and then use my regular nourishing shampoo and conditioner inbetween - especially at the start when I getting used to how this Profiller range works in my hair. I like that the products are all clear/white so as not to interfere with any hair colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prepping Shampoo For A Thicker Hair Look [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a crystal clear shampoo formula that lathered up well to a rich lather. Even so, it was still easy to rinse out. It helped clean and prep my hair for the next step of this hair thickening treatment by John Frieda. I liked the lovely scent, but of course it washes away when all rinsed out. My hair felt clean and it was easy to shampoo my hair with this product. It was easy to use and didn't leave any colour residue so I expect it would be safe for colour treated hair too. It did feel gentle enough even though it cleansed well. It is not a harsh shampoo so it is good for delicate fine hair like mine. I wouldn't call it a nourishing shampoo but it was gentle, yet thorough. Once this part of the thickening treatment is done, you really do need to follow it up with the matching conditioner and then the matching leave-in spray treatment. These all go together and I don't think one could be used without the other. This is an all-in effort and once it's completed I did find my hair had a different texture compared to it's normally lank and fine texture. My hair had more substance to it. I did find value in using a hair detangling product also - just a tiny bit - to help detangle my hair after using the third (leave in spray) product. My hair naturally gets very tangly and this shampoo did not help it detangle at all - and nor does it promise to. So if you have naturally tangly hair like mine, when using this John Frieda set of hair products, have your hair detangler (I like to use a tiny bit of detangling oil on my ends and lengths - a very tiny bit).
