What are hair bonds?

Hair Bonds are protein chains found in the inner most part of the hair, the cortex. When hair is submitted to stress from colouring, styling or simply just brushing these hair bonds can break causing deep damage.

How do you treat broken hair bonds?

Elvive Bond Repair contains Citric Acid which helps build inner broken hair bonds. The molecule is small enough to penetrate deep within the hair to give back its original strength.


When should I use Elvive Bond Repair?

Elvive Bond Repair works on all levels of damaged hair and all hair types. Start with the Bond Repair Pre-shampoo, by applying on damp hair and allowing it to sit for 5 minutes. As my hair dried I could smell the product. Unlike the past 3 products in this routine...it had a very nice sweet smell to finish off. My hair felt really silky soft and shiny once dried. And I couldn't stop smelling my hair. I really like the serum. I'm not sure if it a combination of all the products to get the end result but once the serum finished the routine I was happy with my hair. I feel that it is generally smoother, healthier and cleaner. Great job L'Oréal.

I guess I'm used to the shampoo foam! It felt great to take more time with my hair care and self care routines though. Used as a whole product line I have noticed a difference in my hair. Being a new Mum it's put up most of the day and I was finding the ends went dry and frizzy where my last colour was growing out. Since using this product I have notice my ends are smoother, and less tangled. My whole hair has a better shine and brushes easier. Even my partner noticed that it was smelling great and feeling nicer!

I have fine hair, so I used a very small amount on the tips of my hair, otherwise the shine was too much for my hair type. I don't use this all the time, but instead when I feel the ends need extra TLC.

I find I rarely used the treatments I've brought in the past because it was such a hassle to shower, put in the treatment for 5-20 minutes, and then have to go back in and rinse out the treatment. It has a very thick and kind of sticky consistency, especially for a hair serum. I have thin hair and so even though the instructions say that it can be applied on damp or dry hair, when I had tried applying a very small amount on dry hair, my hair just felt gross and heavy and didn't seem to absorb at all. Yet when I tried applying it to damp hair, once it had dried, my hair just felt crispy and brittle, whilst also feeling like there was a tacky leftover residue, especially the bleached part of my hair. However, when I tried it together with the entire bond repair range, after 2+ washes, it no longer left that tacky feeling when applied to my hair while damp. Overall, I have seen an improvement in the health of my hair when using the complete range, but I don't think the serum is effective or enjoyable to use alone, especially if you have thin hair like me.
