Rated 5 out of 5 by Debs C. from Excellent for dry skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration 48Hr Activation Serum along with the eye serum, daily cream, body spray moisturiser and body lotion in the same Optimal Hydration range to trial. I have dry to normal skin, more leaning towards dry in the cooler months on my face and body so this was the perfect range to try for my skin needs. The 48Hr Activation Serum is packaged in a 30ml plastic pump bottle. The consistency and texture of the serum was quite heavy (in a good way) for a serum and felt more like a lotion. It was very nourishing and absorbed easily into the skin without any sticky or tacky after feel. Some days/nights, I would just use the serum alone as I found it sufficiently moisturising even on my dry skin. In cooler weather, this is perfect for layering with the day cream. The serum was fragrance free which is great for those sensitive to fragrances. The serum contains Hyaluronic Acid, Sunflower seed oil, Shea oil, and vitamins B5 and E to rehydrate and soothe dry skin. I really enjoyed using this serum and would definitely recommend and purchase.

When applied to the face and neck it absorbed into skin well providing a boost of hydration and beautiful nourishment. My skin felt refreshed and pampered after using and there was a gorgeous natural glow and radiance. Skin was soft, smooth and it didn't cause any irritation, was gentle and soothing. I found it prevented dryness from occurring with regular use and I like that it was hypoallergenic, fragrance free, paraben free and a little goes a long way so it lasts well. A formula that I would like to continue to use and happily recommend others give it a try, wonderful.

In a stand up bottle with pump action lid I apply approximately the size of a pea amount onto my finger tips and then gently massaged the serum into my face and neck morning and night. The serum absorbs instantly and I only waited minimal time maybe 20 seconds or so before I applied the next product being my moisturiser on top which layered with it beautifully. The serum is fragrance free which I liked as I don’t find a need for fragrance in my skincare. The serum is really hydrating it can be used on its own as a light moisturiser or as I used it in conjunction with the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration healthy glow Daily Cream for a deeper hydration. For someone that quite often has dehydrated skin I noticed the fine dehydration lines around my face appeared more smooth and hydrated and also added a healthy natural glow to my complexion when I used them together. I would also love to point out the fantastic information included on the packaging as well as the directions, ingredients, 5 skin sensitivity signs Cetaphil being a skincare for face and body brand this notes that this serum is for face I love that. It also shows the actual size of the product on the box. Without a doubt I would recommend this affordable yet results driven serum to anyone wanting a great hydrating serum that works, after a couple of weeks of use I noticed the redness in my skin reduced it appeared more calm as well as increased hydration and natural glow, I am also someone that has combination skin and will know straight away usually after the first couple of uses whether a product will cause me to break out and this did not once it is definitely a winner.

I have combination skin (dry through the cheeks, oily through the t-zone with blackheads in this area) that is very sensitive (rosacea prone) and I require hydrating products that leave my skin feeling moisturised but comfortable. A oil slick is the worst thing for my rosacea. This serum dispenses as a gel-cream consistency, is speedily absorbed and leaves a soft, velvet finish. It is sublime for laying beneath moisturiser, primer and make up, and does not gather or ball when other products are applied on top. Because it so fast to sink in, and there is zero stickiness (unlike a lot of other serums on the market I have used over the years) you can carry on with your regime right away. I applied this morning and night for three weeks (two pumps for face and neck, pressing in so it was well absorbed) and observed immediate hydration and overnight plumpness. The packaging is not fancy but it does the trick. I did not notice any wrinkle or pigmentation reduction (I am 39 years old) but if you need an extra drink for your skin, and not like the feel of very slippery or sticky serums, this absolutely does what it says it will do.

This Cetaphil serum has no smell and is not heavy nor too light in texture. I was expecting a clear serum but this was more of a white lotion. It absorbed very well into my face and neck and left no residue or tackiness. I did layer this under Cetaphil Optimal Hydration Daily Cream plus Cetaphil eye serum which I found to all be pretty much the same consistency. After 2 weeks of daily use my face and neck continue to feel smooth, soft, hydrated and the texture does seem to have improved. I have 50 year old combination skin for reference. Wrinkles, fine lines and crepiness are my main concerns. This is a wonderful quality product and I will continue to use it and definitely recommend it.

I really like this serum and use it together with Cetaphil's Healthy Glow face cream. It goes on very smoothly, and its texture is light but still moisturizes my skin so well. You don't need that much just a small amount and it spreads so easily. It smells great as well, it has not an overpowering scent more like a clean scent which I love. I have been using this product for about three weeks now and have experienced no break outs or reactions whatsoever. My face still feels hydrated and smooth even the next day after using it. The serum is not sticky and seems to melt right into my skin once applied and leaves no sticky feeling on my hands after which is great. I think it is a great product for the price range (inexpensive!). I am glad to have received it free of charge from Beauty Crew now I know good skin care can be found within my budget. I have tried a few of the products from the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration range now and definitely recommend this to people who want their skin to not only look great but feel great too. Cetaphil’s Deep Hydration 48 Hour Activation Serum boasts an amazing ingredient list, I’m talking hyaluronic acid, sunflower seed oil, and vitamins B5 and E, the last of which has the ability to draw moisture from both the inner layers of the skin and our environment to help seal in hydration. In all, antioxidant vitamin E makes the outer layer of skin appear smoother and healthier. This product defends against five signs of skin sensitivity issues including dryness, irritation, roughness, tightness, and a weakened skin barrier. I definitely feel that the product meets their promise. It is fragrance free, hypoallergenic and paraben free which is so good for people who have sensitive skin. I felt using this product together with the Cetaphil's Healthy Glow face cream gave my skin that extra protection and well moisturized and hydrated as the weather starts changing and the the cooler days are upon us. The Hydrating serum enhance your skin's hydration, prevents it from drying out and improve its moisture retention. I use one to two pumps and it is enough for my whole face and my neck which reduces product waste. It does feel like a small splash of water on my face and I appreciate that. It keeps my face hydrated throughout the day and I’m very happy I got to trial this amazing product. I love the bottle and packaging; it pumps out well and doesn’t mess. The labelling is easy to read. I am excited to continue using this product as I feel it will continue to improve the condition of my skin as I already can see and feel such an improvement. I have tried a few serums in my daily routine & this one was a pleasant surprise. I know the brand so I felt very confident in trying it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a huge fan of Cetaphil Face Cleanser for a number of years and when i was selected to trial Cetaphil's new Skincare range, I was excited. I was privileged to have been sent a few of the new skincare line so I tried them all together. Serum, Eye Cream and Face Moisturiser. I used it both day and night and the simplicity of application would easily fit into your already skincare routine or why not use the whole new skincare range. One small pump into the hands and then applied to the skin in which the serum soaks into your skin leaving no residue. The serum states that it is great for dryness, irritation, roughness, tightness and provides a moisture barrier for weakened skin. I would completely agree and also add more pluses to this wonderful product. As most of Cetaphil's range, there is no strong scent, is gentle to sensitive skin which i definitely have and provided all day hydration. Packed also with hyaluronic acid which is something that everyone is using, and plenty of vitamins. The packaging is quite simple yet stylish and i feel you get a lot of product for your money. Hydration, Protection and Simplicity - you have it all here in a wonderful serum !!

I feel like it did actually improve my skin’s moisture levels. My skin seemed to not get as red or irritated while I used this cream. It was really easy to use in the pump style packaging, which dispersed exactly the right amount of cream. It absorbed instantly and didn’t leave a sticky or oil residue like some serums can. I tried this alongside the new Cetaphil moisturiser and eye cream and my skin felt more protected from sensitivity caused by aircon/ fans/ heat. Normally I get quite a lot of redness from these but while using the Cetaphil products my skin was definitely less red and irritated.

It has been leaving my skin looking dewy and hydrated and not to mention for hours on end. I usually wake up in the morning with dry and dull skin and since I have been using this product I have noticed a massive difference. The texture is different to all my other serums as it's a cream but I have found this to be nice and light which I like as it's not too heavy on my skin. This is definitely a serum I will continue to use! I love it.

I have sensitive skin and this product did not make my face flare up like a few other serums have. The product is odorless and comes in a cream based texture, which is lightweight and non sticky. I usually apply this after cleansing my face, and using an activation essence (which multiplies the effect of the serum) and before my moisturiser, and the results are amazing after two weeks. My skin feels hydrated throughout the day, especially when used in conjunction with the moisturiser in the same cetaphil range, and my face has a nice healthy glow, and no longer feels super dry (during the day). I really like how the ingredients are paraben free and works to replenish moisture in my skin throughout the day.

And this one doesn't disappoint! It's beautiful and light and soaked in quickly. Leaving my face feeling well hydrated and it layered up well with moisturiser afterwards. The packaging itself was handy. One pump is all you need to do your face. Maybe one and a half if you are feeling extra dry and want to take it down your neck as well. I also had no irritation with this serum. It's a nice plain formula but it packs a punch in terms of ingredients list and performance. I would highly recommend this serum to my friends and family.

One pump is all that’s needed to deliver enough hydration to dry sensitive skin. After a two week use, I’m now addicted to this product. It incorporates hyaluronic acid so you can skip adding another serum to this and save some time in the morning and evening routines. I found it was enough to use on its own if I wanted to, or for more hydration, I could pair it with the Healthy Glow Daily Cream for perhaps the cooler months. I mostly wear moisturiser under sunscreen to protect my porcelain skin, so found this to be the right type of product without feeling too heavy. Additionally, it is fragrance free, a real plus for those of us with sensitive noses and allergies with scents. The only downside is that the product contains a small 30mls per pack. I wish it came in a bigger size, but perhaps it is made to cater for people on the go and needing a purse-sized product.

The actovation serum has got to be one of my favourites within their range. The applicator is an easy to use pump and the bottle fits nicely in your hand. I wish other serums came in a pump like this. There is no scent which is great for my dry and often sensitive skin. The serum is non greasy and has completely hydrated my flakey skin! It feels super smooth and refreshed in the mornings! Overall, very pleased with the range!

Love that it is unfragranced. Liked the way this serum felt on my skin immediately and and it made my skin look plump and glowy all day. I have dry and sensitive skin and I found this did not irritate my skin at all. It didn’t make me breakout like some serums do. It was lovely before bed under my night cream as well as during the day. Great formula, non irritating and very easily absorbed. A little goes a long way (one pump is all I need) and it layers well with my moisturiser and under my make up. This serum definitely ticked all the boxes for me! The serum is more like a lightweight cream which feels a little wet on application but absorbs quickly to leave my face feeling soft & hydrated without any sticky or greasy residue. I used this serum morning & night as directed for just over two weeks. I found that it layered well with my makeup & other products in the collection. It is fragrance-free & although it didn't cause any irritation to my sometimes-sensitive skin, I did experience a bit of a breakout on my chin, but I believe this was the serum helping to clear some congestion, as by week two, my skin felt so much smoother & the breakouts stopped. It states that it can be used alone or layered with the Optimal Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Cream. I found it just wasn't enough on its own, so I started to use the daily cream as a night cream too & found I was waking up to glowing, supple skin every morning. Overall, this serum has helped to make my skin feel & look more hydrated & plumper, with a more youthful glow. I would recommend this product to anyone needing more hydration, especially those with sensitive skin.

Looks like the cream would be hard to rub in but it’s really not it sinks in really well. Sinks in almost instantly. No strong scent. While it does help to keep my skin moisturised it might not be strong enough for my skin in the colder months might be be more beneficial to me in summer. I found this didn't clog my pores yet soaked into the skin to achieve a deep hydration. I have super dry and sensitive skin that also finds that super rich or thick oils or serums a bit too much. It has a lovely light and creamy texture that glides onto the skin nice and smoothly, and you really do only need a small amount. This serum has a pleasant fragrance without being too heavy or over welming. I noticed a difference in my skin almost immediately. My skin felt hydrated all day without feeling damp or sticky. It certainly lives up to its name when it says a healthy glow. I found this product great to use alone or with the optimal hydration healthy glow daily cream. The optimal hydration 48 hour serum was a great base for my makeup also. It acted as a smoother and kept my skin from drying out underneath foundation without leaving my skin looking 'shiny'. This serums is a great alternative to super expensive serums and gels which offers just as much hydration. I also found this worked great under other moisturizers and used as a spot hydrator for dry patches on my body that needed a little extra boost.

I did notice that using it teamed with the day cream as recommended, that it was heavier than I would like for day use so I used it just at night, so I could get all the same benefits as I slept. Each morning I have awoken with such smooth, highly moisturiser skin. With no added nasties, I love that it is gentle on my skin, while still provided the rich moisture and hydration that my skin regularly needs .The fragrance is light and fresh and not at all overpowering

As a regular serum user, this has a very light and non-greasy texture. However, I would have liked the serum to be a bit more moisturising. Overall, the serum was very hydrating (albeit not for 48 hours) but could have been more moisturising. There is no smell and the serum is perfume-free which would suit very sensitive skin well. For winter, I would probably recommend a more oil-based serum, but nice and light in summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great face serum - used mainly at night before applying night cream or night serum. I found after a few weeks that my face feels softer and it is definitely gentler than the face serums I have previously used and not as greasy. This whole range was surprising as I have only ever used Cetaphil face and body wash when my skin needed relief from stronger products. Would definitely consider buying if it was on special. The serum absorbed into my skin a lot faster than other serums and was very moisturising. The texture is more cream like and less concentrated as other serums are. Thank you BeautyCrew for the great package I was sent - so happy to find new products that I would not have tried otherwise.

Personally I prefer scented beauty products but this serum has been created for sensitive skin. It is very rich so a little goes a long way. It is a generous sized 30ml so I imagine it would last me 4-6mths. It is very moisturising and I feel the effects the next morning, great for my dehydrated skin especially going into Winter here in Tasmania. I have been using this after the Eye Cream and before the Daily Cream, morning and night. Two weeks isn't long enough to tell if it's really made much of a difference to my skin (wrinkles etc) but I really like it and will continue to use.

When I used this alone I felt like it did nothing. However when using it with the Healthy Glow Daily Cream, I think they complement each other very well. My skin feels much more hydrated. I feel my skin looked so much better since using this serum with the cream. Texture wise, as with the other products in this range, it is thick and feels nice. It is not difficult to spread and easily absorbable. This serum has no smell, which is a big plus for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alice K. from Cetaphil Optimal Hydration 48 Hr Activation Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Cetaphil Optimal Hydration 48 Hour Activation Serum is an interesting skincare product. Its consistency is thinner than a lotion but thicker then other serums that I have tried before. It spreads out and blends in thinner and smoother than it looks. It does not feel sticky or overly heavy and it smells like sensitive skincare cream. The serum can be used on its own or under the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Cream (from the same range of Cetaphil moisturisers) for extra hydration. I usually used the serum on my face and the serum/cream combo on my neck. I cannot use the serum on the parts of my face that are extra extra sensitive (which they usually are), but that is the same with a lot of skincare products I have used before. It comes in a 30ml pump bottle that is compact and hygienic. It costs $36.99, but I am sure it will go on sale. The box the serum is packaged in says actual size with an outline, but the outline is larger than the bottle actually is. I like that the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration 48 Hour Activation Serum is moisturising and hydrating, but lighter than a traditional moisturising face cream.

I have trialled this serum for approximately 2 weeks now and I can certainly say it hydrates the skin as advertised. My skin showed slight improvements over the trial period with the usual flaky skin areas seemingly remaining hydrated and smooth throughout the day and night (I applied it first thing in the mornings and last thing in the evenings). I found the texture however to be quite thick and heavy so wasn't too keen to layer it with a moisturiser on top. I prefer more of a lightweight solution personally but the product certainly does hydrate as promised.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Holy grail! so so so extremely helpful for my ashy flaky dry skin specially this autumn and winter cold weather. it feels luxurious to the skin and feels smooth. It keeps my skin hydrated for a very long time unlike other products that i have to reapply many times to keep my skin hydrated. This product is a bit pricey but very effective. Will definitely buy some more! It sinks right into the skin and keeps it supple. One star down because of the packaging, it was leaking. Aside from it, the best!

I’ve only been using it for the past couple of weeks so I can’t comment on the longer effects on my skin, but I can definitely feel my skin being more hydrated already. I’ve been using this serum together with the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration cream and both products worked very well together. Serum had a lovely consistency, lightweight and absorbed very easily without leaving my skin feeling oily and greasy. It’s fragrance free and perfect for dry and sensitive skin. I will definitely continue using it over the coming weeks.

I have sensitive skin and with the cooler weather arriving, my skin has also been getting dry and feeling dehydrated. After the first use of this product, I noticed my skin looked less dehydrated and and it felt lovely and soft. I've continued to use it day and night and it's made a noticeable difference. I do add the Cetaphil Healthy Glow Daily Cream over the top and the combination of the two is great. The product is not greasy or heavily scented and the pump dispenser gives you just the right amount of serum each time. I would definitely purchase this product. I am very pleasantly surprised at how nice it is.
