It gave my flat hair more volume and lift. It smells okay. Hair feels clean again and has bounce to it. It lifts hair and creates volume without leaving the hair greasy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for in between washes This dry shampoo is great for multiple reasons - it magically makes your hair appear clean , adds volume, smells great , easy to use and doesn't leave your hair feeling greasy and gritty like most other dry shampoos or powders . It works wonders for styling too - its great as a base for teasing as it will hold the hair much longer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that I feel like since Batiste changed their packaging (to the picture you see now)- they did something with the formula too as the original volume dry shampoo use to lift my hair so much more and make it look cleaner. Its still a great product though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too much too fast The smell and texture of the spray is but it is very hard to control the amount that sprays out as it comes out so fast and a large amount. I think this would be unsuitable for people with any darker than blonde as the residue is very light. Unfortunately I won’t be buying again which is a shame because the size of the can means great value if the product was also suitable for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this bottle as a replacement I bought this bottle as a replacement for my Batiste XXL Volume Spray. I was hoping they would do the same thing but I was dissapointed. I wanted a dry shampoo to extend the life of my hair between washes. Especially as I am an avid exerciser. I do not have time to wash my hair after every workout. This one that I bought to replace my old Batiste Spray does not hold my hair in place like the old one did. I guess it is back to the supermarket to look at spray cans. It has a soft, flowery scent. Nothing too overpowering.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from XL Dry Shampoo I’m a regular user of dry shampoo and I switch between brands because I often get sick of the same scent. Batiste has a great variety of dry shampoos and this XL one helps to really increase the hairs volume at the root, the only issue I have (with most dry shampoos) is that they come out in a white powder which shows up in my dark brunette hair. I just wish they had a larger range of brunette friendly products!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I am an avid Batiste dry shampoo user - I've loved all of them, so I figured the "Volume" one would be just as good - my god is it not. I have begrudgingly used this up, because it's not cheap - but I'll never buy it again. First the basics; there's no strong smell to this one that I noticed, and the packaging and application is convenient as with all their dry shampoos. However the product itself was insanely disappointing. It did not at all bring volume to my roots - I have fine, straight hair. If there was an occasional slight 'lift', it was because the product was so 'crusty' feeling it gave my hair an odd kink in a weird place. No consistent volumizing result at all. Additionally, it's insanely drying - much more so than their usual dry shampoos - and it travels way more, too. About a day later, all this dry shampoo it gone from my soft-again roots and has crawled into my already dry ends, making my hair feel even more crispy than ever. Not great at all. I've never had that problem with any of their other dry shampoos. Perhaps I have the wrong hair type for this product, but my hair is "flat, fine and limp" like the description suggests it would be to use this. But this gives a texture that's impossible to control, and makes my hair feel awful. I'm not purchasing this again. Back to their normal dry shampoos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back old formula In terms of volume, this product doesn’t hold a candle to the discontinued XXL Volume product. This is basically like a light hairspray in comparison to the XXL - it does almost nothing for volume or extending time between washes. Also not cruelty free due to the collagen & keratin, which do nothing to volumise anyway & are just there for show. PLEASE bring back the old formula Batiste!!! XXL volume was was so much better!!! :(
