It left my skin feeling soft and refreshed after using it. I didn't mind the very subtle citrus scent and being vegan and cruelty free is an added bonus for me. HOWEVER, since using this serum, I've been able to stick to it (at least 4 days per week which is good for me)! I noticed after about two weeks my skin was certainly looking brighter. It felt tighter and I noticed a reduction in texture across my cheeks. The consistency of the product allows for it to absorb really easily, doesn't leave a sticky film on the skin like other. There wasn't an overpower scent either which I appreciated.

The serum has a citrus smell which I quite like and it feels light on my skin. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for mask-ne scarring I have worked for many years having to wear surgical masks but only for certain situations and for short periods so it did not cause skin issues. When covid hit and we had to be in masks 24/7 my face did not know what had hit it. My skin broke out badly and constantly with the mask friction and I could not be without the masks. I had been trying everything to reduce the severity of the mask-ne without much luck. It has also left me with dark scarring and discoloured patches on my face that I did not have before. I have tried a few things but either they were not irritating to my skin but did nothing, or started to lighten the problem areas but caused such irritation I had to stop using them. When I was sent the sample of the Garnier Vitamin C Brightening Serum I was hopeful as I have had a lot of good experiences with the Garnier product range generally. This serum did not let me down. The discoloured areas are now either almost the same colour as the rest of the surrounding skin or significantly reduced and I feel with some more useage time it will actually completely resolve the issue. I have also noticed in the high humidity and heat recently that my skin stays nicely hydrated without becoming an oil slick on my T-zone in an hour or two after washing my face. I have a summer skin care regimen that is lighter than my winter one to help reduce the oiliness but keep skin hydration. The Garnier Vitamin C Brightening Serum has slotted seamlessly into the regimen without irritating my quite sensitive skin. If you have been troubled by mask-ne scarring due to covid, have sensitive easily irritated skin, and have the dehyrated-but-oily T-zone combination skin then seriously consider giving this serum a try. It has a noticeable fragrance that is not unpleasant and a light gel-serum texture without being watery. I would suggest it after toner and essences but before any heavier serums or emulsions/creams to let it get to work properly. You do not have to use a lot and I was only using it once a day and I started to notice a difference to dark areas within three days. The serum has also helped reduce new mask-ne ocurring and reduced the duration and severity of any if it does pop up. And I must say this does seem to be doing the same job as brands nearly 10 times the price.  From the first application my skin buzzed which tells me there are indeed "active skin ingredients" in the serum - that it's not all "claims". And I get this same reassuring tingle every time I use it. After application my skin goes from feeling dry and taut - to supple and moisturised. In fact, I often don't use a moisturiser after it - as it often feels enough. My skin does appear to be a bit brighter - and the tone more even, I'm looking forward to longer use so I can track results. I do like that it's not oily or shiny after use - but instead mat and moisturised.  The only thing I'd like to see is that it comes in a dark bottle next time, as I have heard Vitamin C can be affected by sunlight - but overall - I'd buy it. I had a few acne marks on right side of my face, also I have been tanned a little bit during summer as well. After using this Garnier Vitamin C Brightening Serum, my complexion becoming brighter, and the marks of acne becoming lighter, my whole face looks glowing. I am oily combination skin type, this serum is so lightweight that after applying on the face it’s absorbing straight away. The lemon scent is fresh and light. So far this is the most satisfying brightening serum I have used. The only recommendation I would say is the company should make this product into a jumbo size 50ml as well. It is not too heavily fragranced and comes in a nice glass bottle with dropper. Since using it for a few weeks, I have noticed my skin feels smoother and is more even in tone. I have combination skin and it has helped to lessen the unevenness between oily and dry parts - no more dry skin patches, which has been nice. I am not sure if it has lightened dark spots because I have also been spending a lot of time in the summer sun, but I would recommend this serum to anyone looking to improve their skin. It has definitely reduced acne scarring and redness, to the point that I feel more comfortable not wearing make-up. I was given a product to trial and review.

I usually apply a few drops before moisturiser and sunscreen, and find it wears okay under makeup as well. That's a pretty amazing result. It smells delicious and fresh like citrus, and contains Niacinamide + Salicylic Acid so it’s an all in one, daily essential. I’ve read a lot about topical vitamin C and it’s a science-backed, ingredient that helps prevent skin aging, sun damage, and improves the appearance of wrinkles, all of which are my biggest skin concerns, so I use it daily, no exceptions.
