General Information

Ultra-nourishing, anti-irritation cleansing oil that provides 24 hours of comfort and hydration immediately after showering.

*Corneometry for 27 days on 52 volunteers aged 20 to 70 years with dry skin. **Use test for one week on 21 volunteers aged 18 to 70 with dry to very dry skin on the face and body, and sensitive and/or reactive skin on the face and body.

Atoderm Shower Oil soothes and protects against external stress thanks to its exclusive formula made up of plant biolipids, niacinamide and the Skin Barrier Therapy™ patent.
• Plant biolipds* relieve the sensation of tightness, reduce irritations and strengthen the skin thanks to the intake of nourishing molecules which immediately recreate the skin's protective film.
• The Skin Barrier Therapy™ patent limits the adhesion of certain bacteria (staphylococcus aureus) on the skin's surface which can aggravate skin dryness.
• By stimulating the synthesis of lipids, niacinamide helps restructure the skin barrier, which improves the skin's suppleness and durably restores comfort.
• Lipid restoring agents, made up of plant biolipids and moisturising agents make up 33% of the formula and reinforce the moisturising and nourishing properties of this shower oil.

The DAF™ patented complex increases the skin's tolerance threshold.

Directions

For the shower or the bath, apply to wet skin and massage into the skin to create a light lather. Rinse thoroughly. Gently pat dry. For even more effectiveness, supplement with an Atoderm treatment cream.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Non oily body wash The Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil comes in a 200ml clear plastic bottle and has a blue pump top dispenser. It can be turned to lock into position, but I would tape down as an added precaution if you are planning to travel with it. I've never used a cleansing oil, for my face or body and I wasn't sure how to best use it. To start with I used it as a first step cleansing oil for taking off my makeup but I didn't find it that effective for that purpose. I decided to use it in the shower instead, dispensing about one to two pumps onto my mesh sponge and found that it lathered up well. It has a lovely light fragrance and doesn't leave behind any oily residue. This worked really well for my dry skin on my legs which I am prone to in Winter. I probably wouldn't get this again as I think its a bit steep for a product that rinses off but it might be worth the extra dollars for those that have chronic dry skin.
