General Information

Swisse Ultibiotic Daily IBS Probiotic is a premium quality formula that helps relieve and manage the symptoms of medically-diagnosed Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), including abdominal pain, bloating, constipation and diarrhoea. This convenient, fridge-free supplement is specifically formulated with probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum (299V), which is clinically trialled* to alleviate medically-diagnosed IBS symptoms, as well as maintain a healthy gastrointestinal system and promote beneficial intestinal flora. *Ducrotté et al. (2012) Clinical trial: Lactobacillus plantarum 299v (DSM 9843) improves symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, World J Gastroenterol; 18(30): 4012-4018. Niedzielin et al. Rated 2 out of 5 by from There’s better products on the market It helped cramping, stomach gurgling and jt prolonged the onset of my daily bloating... but beyond that it didn’t help for me. I took it according to the instructions which is once per day, however another brand sells the same probiotic at twice the strength and advises taking it twice daily for severe cases. I think it may be worth looking at something stronger if your IBS is anything but mild. That being said - every product is different and this has a probiotic that has statistically been shown to help IBS so it could be worth trying for some.
