General Information

GAIA Skin Naturals Belly Butter is petrochemical free. It contains pure, natural, organic aloe vera and shea butter to promote skin elasticity and help minimise stretch marks.

Your skin can change significantly when you are pregnant and with hormones fluctuating, this can lead to skin dryness and sensitivities, not to mention being itchy from all that stretching.
This rich cream or 'butter' is petrochemical free and specially formulated to maintain moisture, suppleness and elasticity while your belly is stretching to accommodate your growing baby and it doesn’t leave the greasy residue like some butters can. Deeply moisturising and nourishing, it contains cocoa butter and organic shea butter, both well known for replenishing skin’s vital moisture, maintaining suppleness and reducing the possibility and appearance of stretchmarks.
It also contains wheat germ and organic rosehip, both rich sources of vitamins good for dry and itchy skin to help support skin elasticity.
Lightly and naturally scented with GAIA's unique blend of essential oils recommended for use during pregnancy (mandarin, tangerine and frankincense), this butter helps to smooth lines and scars, improving the overall appearance of the skin.

I’ve been using the belly butter for the duration of my pregnancy and my skin feels beautiful and soft and there are no signs of any stretch marks, I couldn’t recommend more! I’ve also recently started using the Gaia belly oil (purchased elsewhere) and love it, it rubs in well and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily. Both amazing products for the baby bump!

I used it on my surgery scars and it has reduced the redness and stopped them itching. Apply daily for best results. It also doubles as a hand cream!

I found it very effective at relieving dry, itchy skin not just on belly but all over body too. It's great that it contains no nasty ingredients too, especially for products used during pregnancy. It is packaged in a gravity fed tube for convenience and hygiene.

I was certain I would end up with stretch marks as I have several from my teenage years and they run in the family but I lathered this Gaia Belly Butter on daily since finding out I was pregnant and I didn't get 1 new stretch mark. The only downside is the price so be sure to stock up when it's on sale.

They are mostly down to genetics so a cream isnt going to change that. The cream was nice, had a typical moisturizing cream consistency, absorbed easily and didnt have a strong smell. I didnt notice anything special about it, nothing to make me want to keep using it and i wouldn't buy it again as i have others that i prefer but it moisturized my belly as promised. If someone was looking for a belly butter product without a strong scent or fragrance then this one will do the job. I personally prefer others that have a nice fragrance as that makes applying it less of a chore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moisturising belly butter I used it during and after my pregnancy. I loved the fact that is not an oil, because oils are messy and sometimes they may not absorb easily. This belly butter was easy to use because it comes in a convenient tub that is also handy to carry with with me without having to worry about it leaking everywhere and it absorbs like a dream, leaving my skin moisturised. There was a light scent (something herbal?), so I would recommend it to pregnant ladies who have overcome their morning sickness phase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GAIA Belly Butter | moisturising During my pregnancy, I used several products: A Dr Hauschka Body Oil, a Clarins stretch mark prevention cream and this Gaia Belly Butter. The belly butter is a thick and rich cream with next to no smell. It is white but rubs in clear quite quickly. It gives a nice sheen to the skin and it feels moisturised until the next shower. I use one of the 3 I have mentioned above at least once a day, sometimes twice, and I do not have stretch marks. I am not sure if they helped, as I cannot say that if I didn't use any I would have stretch marks. Regardless, it is always nice to keep the belly area moisturised and I also found it a very lovely thing to do to massage the belly daily.
